Did you sand blast them first? Or just powder coat over the chrome?

Yeah it appears to look like a dusting, that can be rubbed off with a paper towel. I watched another video. Granted that guy didn't cook it properly either. Might have to get some for trial and error purposes. Before dropping coin. Maybe sandblast and prime it first. I really hate the look of wrapped pipes on crusiers.

Did you use a primer?

Anyone every used this product? http://www.vhtpaint.com/products/flameproof/ Looking to upgrade the pipes on my mean streak, but finding them in black has always been a challenge. So now I'm contemplating purchasing a chrome set, and them having them ceramic coated. Problem is, I don't want to pay the $300 to paint/coat on top of a $500 exhaust. I ran across this product, and now am comtemplating giving it a whirl. Cost would be >$30. Maybe Hoblick would even rent me some oven space to cook 'em. Welcome aboard and this ^. I too am a larger fella. Took the MSF on an enduro, passed without to much trouble. I got that particular bike because of the suspension travel.

If I were on the market for a new lid, the Shoei GT Air would probably be at the top of my list. I have a more oval head though, and it fits me better in that aspect. The RF-1100 I wear now is comfy and light. But the wind noise is quite loud in comparison to a couple other helmets I've ridden with.

This is a peeve of mine as well.
