Wait, wait, if I say it was Kenny G, can I play big spoon?
-
Assrocket, I mean Joe, nope, Kenny Chesney. Sorry!
-
Got your PM thanks. Hopefully this week I will have a free night, it is crunch week here though as was last week for end of month. I will be in touch. Unfortunately I won't be at these days, Kenny concert, but have some Mid O days planned next month.

Multiple things here; 1) Gear = Living, let's be honest, had he been wearing Tshirt, jeans, and sneakers no helmet, he leaves in a MedFlight and we have another thread in Fallen Riders. No ?'s asked. 2) Sounds like you were behind him, target fixation could have ended your day as well, not in a good way. Naturally if you are following at a SAFE distance, this is not the case, but had you been riding staggered and close, it could have been bad for you two. Been there for both, track style, but either way. These are things people must think about each and everytime they ride. I saw about 25 people out today, 1/2 or more had their helmets strapped to their bikes like giant frame sliders, while wearing shades and Tshirt. Good choice.

Such good news about him joining OR too bro. Can't wait to give him all my money next month..... again.

Joe, I said ride with me, not ride me. I mean wait, that never happened at The Holiday Inn this weekend, or did it? I just want that frigging pancake maker. We will def. be chatting.

SCJ I still have your stuff at my place, sorry this week got nuts fast. Anyways, yeah all looks good for the 4 days I've posted so far, then looks like 2 later in the season too.

Oh definitely pulling off the slip on. I read on the GSXR forums it is possible to remove the "valve" from the bolt and put the bolt back in, hoping that is what he did, but not sure. Thinking I will tear into that this coming week though. Issue is not really sure what to do to get it out of there, other than ghetto remove it, and have the holes welded shut? Or spend the coin for a full exhaust LOL. Edit: Just got this info too; "Next remove both actuating cables that go from the servo to the valve completely from the bike, but leave the actual SET valve alone. Once the cables have been removed, the SET valve itself is held open by spring pressure"

TRM, nice meeting and chatting with you too bro, appreciated your help and info, and the title of that book you told me was a good read. Works slow right now, so might be ordering that off Amazon tonight and doing some reading this coming week at work.

I have a squirt gun for Manbearpig. Oh and the guns placed all around my house incase by some grace of god my dog doesn't kill the intruder first, I can then shoot him in any extremity they may have left after Basco is done chewing on them.

Thanks Blue, got it. Will be in touch.

I have truck + trailer + parents place to stay locally. I am out for the early June date, but am running Grattan with some guys on the 4th, then Mid O at the end of June. Dub/My/X, if everyone is just down for 1 day, I am willing to do that too, but would really love to do both if possible. Mykill, I wont be running Twilight until after I kick to Int for 2-3 solid days, just a note, I worded the other post wrong. Edit; I can haul up to 3 bikes in my trailer if needed, or 1 in bed, 2 in trailer, for the late June dates. However I don't want to pull a Tyler and drop one so need to know in advice to setup loading the bed, as the truck is lifted 6.5in.

Thanks Rusty, I should have reworded that, I meant hitting them after I run Int. Thanks for looking out though bro. Haven't seen ya for a grip since I took my hiatus from the track last season. Either way, hope to catch up this summer at Mid O or something.
-
Blue, I wanted to ask you at the track actually about all that, or Nick, just forgot. What about the "mentoring" what was that? I feel I am definitely right there to go, I was moving up 2 seasons ago, but then lost it in the Esse's at Mid O in the second to last session, so obviouslly didnt. I feel the speed is there, I usually need a few laps to get my sighting and turn in points, but I feel I definitely am able to get them down quick. If I ran Nelson again I would move to Int. now, but a track I haven't ran, or at least not for a bit, I would start in Nov for atleast 1 more day. Also Blue, no homo, can you PM me your # I had a few things I wanted to ask about your bike, setup, and trailer.

Discount day at Nelson for Ohio Riders - May 14 2011
madcat6183 replied to jbot's topic in Track is Crack
Track was soaked most of the day, I m sure some of the Int and Adv did but I know I didn't was told was close and positioning was good by the instructor Ray(super nice guy), but Im not concerned about that. been there done that, it's fun to talk about but doesn't really matter. -
Looks like my Mid Oh dates are as follows June 27 28 and July 11 12. I figure after the June dates I will also be looking for a few Max times, since I work off Polaris and taking off 2 hours early gets me to the track with tons of time to get on right when they start. Anyone in Cbus that is planning on doing these dates, I not have my enclosed set up for 2 bikes, and a big ol truck to haul everything. For 2 day events though, I will be staying at my parents 15 minutes a way, for the night. For Max time, coming back to Cbus.

Just myself, I've done 4 days now, 2 mid o's, 1 putnam which was cut short 3 sessions by me wrekcing, and 1 Nelson and I feel I am just not getting to a safe point to advance to Int. Granted I think I could hang speed wise, but I want to ensure that I am safe not just for myself, but for everyone else. I plan to do 1 more Novice before moving up to Int. unless I get to Grattan and it's a low turnout for Int. then I will bump right away. I will probably do race school after 3 Int days, 1 at grattan early june, 2 at Mid OH end of June. I will most likely look for race school in July, or August. I just looked and I might have 4 days at Mid Oh end of June and mid July, so maybe get more Int. time than I planned. Either way, I personally feel it is something different for everyone, and that only you cna really decide if it is safe for yourself, AND even more importantly those around you. Great topic to discuss, especially as more and more of us are getting more serious.
-
SCJ1000 was talking about it, I was thinking about it as well, but feel I need to run at least 1 more Novice day first. I hope to be hitting these by mid June, not to mention the 2 day event at the end of june too.

Safety Wiring 101 for track day riders...
madcat6183 replied to Moto-Brian's topic in Track is Crack
Anyone find one of these Jigs locally, in Columbus? I found them online from all kinds of Aircraft stores etc. but I was hoping to do this all this weekend. I figure I can handle the bolts for the front axle, and the radiator, and possibly the brake caliper bolts as they are longer and I should be able to hold them. However, the front pinch bolts I dont think I will be able to hold. I do not have a drill press nor a vise, so curious if you all drilled them on the bike or just held them in vise grips or something? If not finding a jig in Cbus would be awesome. Thanks! PS everything other than my front end, and the radiator cap is already done. -
Thanks to all, I decided to say F it and listen to the people with experience here who said it is normal and not something to concern with. I figure when it comes time to get new rotors maybe that will improve it(most likely sooner than later), but until then, the bike was fast at Nelson and I will continue to run as is. Thanks for everyones opinions, and help.
