K tried that, seemed to help a little, Im going to go at it more tomorrow night. Let me clarify the "floating" rotors, on both rotors he removed the outside washers, not the inside. FRom my understanding that is because he did not remove the rotors from the wheel so he couldnt do the inside. I might do that this weekend too, I have some time to work on the bike and figure it might help from what I have read. Gixxie and KTM, did you guys do a floating coversion up front, or already buy nicer aftermarket rotors, I am guessing nicer rotors lol.
-
Gixxie, I just took the front calipers off, recleaned them like new, and out them along with the Carbon Lorraines back on. When they were off it made several revolutions, then stopped after several. Put the calipers back on, and makes about one lol. I did find out the owner prior to me did the "floating rotor" thing on 1 side of the rotors but not both. I guess people remove the little washers behind the rivets in the rotors and call them floating... Also Nick called and told me to do the same thing you all are talking about with the pinch bolts and the axle, and I was just walking out to do that. Will respond with that shortly. Brian, thanks for the update, it sounds like this is definitely the overall general consensus that the OEM rotors etc with race pads just do this. Had I opted for the low grade pads it might not have been an issue, but definitely wanted to get good ones. Thanks for all's help, going to rock the last little trick out.

Yeah it def. sounds like it would be fine, but just to be sure I am taking her into the shop tomorrow as if something is a tad off, I want it to be fixed and ready to go. Especially with a lot of track time coming up soon. I appreciate all the help. Also, BLUE, I stole your "tool" for your front axle idea, and got one at HD last night at 759pm 1 minute before they closed. They were PISSED at me.
-
Gixxie, yeah I took the padds off and cleaned the piss out of the pistons and the rear side where the plate sits with brake cleaner. It does have a bremo MC so I am wondering if there is an adjustment on there too. I actually wanted to get it free floating like Dub's was so most likely just have them do that while they are in there. I mean it rode fine, but when you are trying to spin the wheel on the front stand, there is a ton of drag, it won't even make a full rotation without a lot of force. Oh well, not a big deal just want to get it done asap.
-
So my 06 GSXR 600's front wheel is dragging really bad. I noticed it before but really didn't think much of it until Nick took a look at it and said it was way worse than it should be. He recommended cleaning the rotors and calipers since I just put brand new Carbon Lorraine pads on. No effect. I pulled the front axle and regreased it, torqued it to spec, and put everything back together. Nothing. I am thinking I will just take it to Independent since they are 5 minutes away and have them hopefully look at it, but naturally any ideas would be apprecaited. Unless I can get an appointment tomorrow after work or Tuesday, in which case, I will load her up and drop her off. Thanks!

What happens when your bike falls off the ramp during loading
madcat6183 replied to tyler524's topic in Pics and Vids
Bro sorry to hear about your bike, but seriously? There was not 1 person around or in your cell phone that could have helped? Anytime loading a bike into a truck(mine is lifted over 6 inches in all), I find a ditch back in, and use that to help offset the difference with the ramp I have. Or I find a sidewalk with stairs and do the same thing. Hate to say it but next time think before you act, I know people have done and will continue to do it, but honestly, it just isn't smart to try to load with ramps alone. -

I wouldn't be surprised if it was taped at the tech shed, then came off. I saw some blue tape around from the rain. But yes I know exactly who you are talking about and it was miserable to see that. -

TRack dried fast and was fast last 3 session. All in all Motoseries ran a great show with the circumstances. Especially the asshole that went in EMS for a broken collar bone. Sign the release and get a dude to drop you at the hospital, that sucked. BUT NOT Motoseries fault at all. All in all I will definitely be rocking with them again, price was great, and Todd and the crew ran a great show. -
Dubguy will jump in here I am sure because he knows the guys running this well and will give you details. I just talked to him today about this, I want to go but have to check my dirt track schedule and with our guys.

Weather looks 60% rain, but just says "possible" what are peeps thinking that have prepaid etc. I am still on the fence about the trip up and need to decide tomorrow PM. I am contemplating driving to Mansfield tomorrow more and more as the % is not improving and playing Saturday by ear when I wake up. Anyone else's feelings? -

Yeah, regardless of what the weather says I am staying hopeful. Mainly because like an idiot I preregistered for the discount thinking May would be fine with the weather. Naturally I forgot we live in the shithole state of Ohio. FML. Game time decision for me, especially with the price of fuel now. May head to Mansfield Friday night and play Saturday AM by ear. Get up really early and decide day of. I do have friends in CLE that I haven't seen for a few years so may still go, and if it rains I will just leave. -

Yeah same to the guy in Groveport this AM about 1130 today, red/black crotch rocket, didnt get a good view because you were too far up my ass the entire time. I was in the Del Sol with the fart can(b/cuz it was cheaper than an actual exhaust to buy a POS off Ebay), with my GF looking at you like the dick you were being. If you want to ride my ass at least make sure you give me a rusty trombone or snuggle with me after you are done. -
Yeah man, gotta have tough skin around here for sure. Not to mention if you post alot, there will be a lot of differences made public through other people, just the nature of the beast. If you just chill and post here and there(me) it usually stays pretty calm and chill. I still have met most of the Cbus people at one time or another, bike nights, rides, etc. but we all have our "clicks" that we really hang with. Just be yourself and remember to take most of the stuff we say with a grain of salt.

DTM will get the last word! This dude is just a post whore like we all know. But I do love reading people arguing with him.

This is hilarious, Ringo, there are no personal attacks here and everything you stated is simply opinion. Stating that a beer is liked by 50% but not by the other 50%, did you do studies, where are they? Did someone else? No, they didn't. I also am not attacking you, but I think you may wanna cool your jets a tad bro, some people do know more than others and in this case, there are many of us with a lot more knowledge of beer than others.

Coors Light 3 Frogs IPA from Vator-The Elevator CMH Heif from Vator as well ties with London Pride, London, England. Only heard of it 2 places in the US so far. Coors light only wins because that is my normal beer.

Just picked up the trailer today, setting some of it up for the upcoming run at Nelson. Can't wait to get back out there! -
Damn thanks Red. Figured someone could find the exact verbiage I needed. I figure if I take the title or whatever he gives me tonight to the Dep Reg. early Saturday and they say get a weight slip, then I will, if not, then I ll rock it out. The register and BMV on south high in the ghetto are directly accross from each other and take 5 minutes even on a saturday to go through. Not to mention the scale is 5 mins from there, Ill chance it and just tow the thing with me lol. Thanks for everyones input, just for a note, when we bought the 24 ft TT from NJ, we had a bill of sale, notarized, and had to take the trailer to get it inspected to make sure the VIN or serial number matched, they filled out some doc, and put an approximate weight on it, then we got a true title for it. For the 28 ft TT bought in OH, we just took the title and had it done on the spot, no bill of sale etc. So for this I will first just take what he gives me tonight and try to register it, if they say get a weight slip, I will then go do that, if they say I need what he gives me tonight notarized, well FML. Thanks!
-
Yeah def. not big enough. Poop, I cant even fit my OEMs in there, let alone my aftermarkets.
-
Yeah but the weight slip is what bypasses the actual "title" they then give a registration and title sheet with the tags/stickers. I was hoping you'd see this because I know you have experience with all this shit etc. But if I am wrong, or not reading/interrupting that right let me know. The other thing was my other was marked as "homemade"... I m just worried about getting it transfered because there won't be a notary on scene, and Im not 100% sure my mom still has her notary license. Thanks buddy!
-
So this is what I just found, to me it reads like I just need a weight slip, which I can get locally Saturday at Obetz hardware, then roll right to the bmv and get it done. All travel trailers are titled in Ohio at any county Title Office with proof of ownership, application, fees and taxes. If the trailer is on a non-Ohio title, you must first obtain an Ohio out-of-state VIN verification at any Deputy Registrar's office. If the trailer is not a travel trailer and weighs 4,000 pounds or less, you must obtain a weight slip on the trailer and take that and proof of ownership to your Deputy Registrar's office and apply for plates and registration. If the trailer weighs 4,001 pounds or more, you would take proof of ownership and apply for Ohio title at any county Title

So I just bought a 6x12 V nose off Craigs and had a few questions on titling it and getting tags. He said it has a title, and currently is tagged etc. However I thought that anything under a certain weight in OH did not need a true "title" just a weight slip? My thing is I am doing the deal after work tomorrow and want to get tags for the trailer Saturday morning, but need to know how. It is a single axle trailer, and will be well under what I thought the weight of 3K or 2500 limit is on trailers requiring a true title vs. a weight slip. Last time I bought a 3 rail, I just had the guy weigh it, took the weight slip with me, and got tags. Is that the same with this? Thanks!
