  1. I might be in. Will not lead! What might be cool is to stop off, depending on how many show, on Boston Mills rd. just after the freeway at the nice left hand curve and snap some photos.
  2. Kerosene, old tooth brush and chain wax.
  3. Got it and responded with what they wanted, Name and Address. We'll see what happens.
  4. If it's not loud enough I know this will work as an amp. I have a friend who uses this amp and it has lasted him years. http://www.electric-avenues.com/amplirider.html
  5. Anybody have any opinions on whats the best option for rider to passenger comm. with GPS for for tunes? No bluetooth. I use the Jvc ear buds now and am leaning towards going to something like this in the near future- http://www.wearecb.com/store/motorcycle-intercom-rf-limited-riderlink-st1-audio-system-p-3122.html. I'm aware of the chatterboxes and scala. Just looking for something a little different and cheaper.
  6. The theory from what I understand is with a 520 chain is it has less rotational mass and in return you'll get a little better acceleration through faster transfer of power to the rear wheel. It's really more of a racing mod to get a couple .10 or .01 of a second after gearing changes. From what I've heard they don't last quite as long either. But don't really know for sure since it's just what I've read and never put any research into it. Somebody on here will have all the specifics.
  7. I run pit-bull sprockets and ek x ring chain 525. They have last me over 20k so far. Very little stretch, no signs of o-ring damage. Wish I could fine my maint. log to figure exact mileage. But I can't. Anyways I bought mine at Svracingparts.com. If you can't get a hold of the Pit Bull sprocket and are sure that's what you want send Blair an email and maybe he can help you out. Personally I'm a firm believer that maintaining your chain properly with Kerosense as the cleaning agent, toothbrush to scrub and chainwax to lube at regular 500-1000 mile intervals will make your chain last longer than anything else you can do. And a picture because I'm a whore!
  8. Another season. Fist year I didn't really do any cosmetic stuff to the bike besides a couple chrome washers and fasteners for the hugger and radiator. Also took off the sv650 decals from the rear plastics and replaced the two with one decal on the hugger. Looks a little better imo. Anyways, here it is basically the same as ever. Ready to ride. Another winter I didn't get around to taking the tank off to get a stripe painted on it. Oh well, try again next winter.
  9. I'm pretty sure they make a strap mount. http://www.motorcyclegear.com/parts/luggage/tank_bags/rapid_transit/recon_19_magnetic_motorcycle_tank_bag.html
  10. Rapid Transit Recon 19, had it for 3 seasons going on 4. It's Perfect for all I've needed it for. Best part it doesn't get in they way when in full tuck @ 45mph. http://www.motorcyclegear.com/parts/luggage/tank_bags/rapid_transit/recon_19_magnetic_motorcycle_tank_bag.html
  11. I have the TCX ss boot. They've been good for 20 some thousand miles. They are in need of replacement now though. swing arm pivot bolt nut (sounds weird) rubs on the front side of the boots and wears off the leather on my Sv with aftermarket rear sets. I'm seeing it's just the nature of the beast. Unless I get a boot with hard plastic right in the front. But then they won't flex as well. Anyways the TCX ss boots are a good bargain boot for sport touring/ aggressive street riding for the price. I don't think I'll buy them again though. Time for something new.
  12. I have a separate tender plug under the seat right by my shock reservoir. Same concept though. Just two different outlets is where I'm at now.
  13. Not the most ideal way but it works, Fused hot to the license plate light, So it shuts off with the bike. Negative pigtail to batt. ground. Sae end of the connection under the seat, under the tank bra, one of the only reasons I still have it. Plugging in outside the tank bag under the magnetic flap, cover by rain cover when needed. Into a power plug splitter inside the tank bag. The the devices plug into the splitter Blackberry cell phone and Gps One of these days I'm going to make a fuse panel under the back seat with a 12v in the trunk and 3-4 12v power supply to the tank bag for heated gear, gps and phone. With an extra for camera if I need it. Just haven't put it high on the list yet.
  14. I looked for the old gps thread and couldn't find it. Anyways I replace my Lowrance Xog with a Garmin nuvi 755t. Only used in the car so far but it's going to be nicer than my Xog I can tell already. Here's the link to where I bought it- http://g.factoryoutletstore.com/details/11071/garmin-nuvi-755t.html All I needed to change over mounting was the Garmin Ram cradle for $10 at mountguys. Pictures- Looking forward to another year of getting lost.
  15. Do you guys have a link to a run down of the requirements for bike and gear? I really would like to do a track day but only have one bike and I'll be riding it there, preping and riding home. Or should I just forget it and wait till I'm a big boy and have a track purposed bike?
  16. We'll see if I remember to update this pic next fall. Shouldn't be a problem since I'm on this road every other day. The missing rivet bothers me and the ugly ass red caliper.
  17. Also if you have any salt runoff from whatever road you live on over time your bricks will deteriorate. I would use 304 0r #4 & #10 (410) as my base and an inch of screenings. Don't forget edging, possible permits, chop saw for any cutting, and a place to get rid of your excavated material. It's been said- Go with concrete! I installed hardscapes for over 10 years and don't ever recommend pavers for parking or driveways. That is unless no expense is spared on install.
  18. I was thinking about that post and can understand.getting lost on the track. Maybe I should have thought it through better. Someday I'll get there. Maybe Nelson on a open day or something.
  19. My answer is- I don't have the money to spend on track and touring. So, I choose to do touring because I like to get LOST. It's hard to get lost on a track. If and when I can spend as much as I need on tires, gas, gear, track time, ect. I will be all in. Doubt it's going to happen anytime soon. So it just leaves me with wandering on day trips taking as many pictures as I feel, stopping when I feel , for as long as I feel. It's the feeling, You know this man. It's why we do it, all of it!
