  1. If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn't know who to call. Yes, there are hundreds of numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? Hence this 'ICE' (In Case of Emergency) Campaign The concept of 'ICE' is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact during emergency situations. As cell(mobile) phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name 'ICE' ( In Case Of Emergency). The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know which number to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose. In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital Staff would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dialing the number you have stored as 'ICE.' For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc. A great idea that will make a difference! Let's spread the concept of ICE by storing an ICE number in our Mobile phones today! P lease forward this. It won't take too many 'forwards' before everybody will know about this. It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest. ICE will speak for you when you are not able to.

I wonder if leaking fuel all over the place had more to due with the fires than the light bulb? Those leds are nice but I would still try and control those pesky explosive vapors.

    ^^^^^ Good one!
  4. Ya I guess your right leave the store for some colledge kid from India with a marketing degree who doesn't know it is impossible, problem is I know he won't give me a great deal on tires.
  5. I think you should turn it into a store for bikers. When I think MotoRockets I think merchandise. It would be very easy just locate some dropshippers pick stuff from their catalogs that you think would sell and display them on your site. Customer pays you retail, you pay dropshipper wholesale, dropshipper sends merchandise to customer with your return address. You can even get a tax id# allowing you to purchase merchandise at wholesale from everyone and sell it at retail. The great thing about dropshipping is an unlimited supply of merchandise and no overhead. Another thing is when you get a lot of traffic to your site you can sell advertising space, that is why everyone wants traffic more traffic the more you charge for advertising. After about 3-5 years you sell the sight for millions. Now when you get going I would be interested in an easy job that pays alot for a little work or at least a great deal on a new set of tires!
  6. I sure hope it's not as devastating as y2k.
  7. Yes the delema of gearing, low first gears for stunts and such and higher top gear so you don't get spanked on the street. After buying many sprockets and chains I have come to the conclusion that no gearing is perfect for every situation. Regear for fast take off get passed at top end, regear for top end trail 3/4 of race. The trick is to pick the best gear for a peticular situation or compromise and have a bike that is perfect for no situation but ok all around. Your quest is honorable.
  8. When purchasing tires you must consider your riding style and budget. Lets say you ride slow a couple times a year on select days or are a stunter, then any tire that holds air would probably be ok and as far as budget you can't get cheaper then race take offs for $50 a set. Personaly I ride hard in all weather and conditions and having the tires let go is no fun, well sometimes it is. I usually purchase used tires off wrecked bikes. The last set were pilots with at least 75% and cost me $90 these have been the best tires. Another thing to consider as tires age they get hard and lose their grip so new old tires might not be such a great deal. New tires are the best but the bummer is they feel great for about 500 miles or less, start to square off loosing that new feel. If you are new to riding get new street tires, oem being the easiest decision. Good luck on your search and let us know what tires you go with.
  9. This is what I would do: 1. Determine purchase amount: Call the bmv and ask what they charge for a straight trade, gift is a flat fee of ?, if you buy it for $1 you will owe about $.07 tax buy it for $1000 you owe about $70. 2. Get purchasers name, address, miles off vehical and purchase price give that information to your wife, she takes that information and the title to her bank. They will write that information on title have her sign it and then they will notorize it. She is done. 3. Your buddy has done the same thing you now exchange notorized titles the deal is done. Take your plates off your old vehical. 4. Go to bmv with your newly exchanged notorized title, if the new vehical is in your wifes name then she will have to go, this is when you will be paying the tax and about $8 for your new title so if you bought the vehical for $1 you would owe them about $8.07. The vehical is now in your name. 5. Now have the bmv transfer your plates to your new vehical (you may first need an echeck if they do that in your county if so you will need to purchase a $10 temp tag and have ins transfered so you can drive to echeck) 6. Call your insurance company have your ins transfered before you drive your new vehical. Note: You will have to have the title done in a bmv in the county you live because they get the tax money also make sure the bmv you go to does titles some just sell plates. DO NOT DRIVE WITHOUT INS! 90 day suspension 1st time, 1yr. second time, 2yr. the 3rd time. hope this helps
  10. I read in I think it was Cycle Rider the average miles driven by motorcyclists in a year was 3000. Not very many when you consider that is the average and almost everyone on this page has rode more. I put a bigbore on my motard 400cc in august and have rode that bike 2320 in the city, not a lot of miles but a lot of time.
  11. In my opinion he will be lucky to get $5000. If he is wanting another bike he might think about working out some kind of trade.
  12. Thats looks like an expensive phone, I think I would put a wide rubber band, zip tie or some other strap around the top of the phone to make sure it doesn't come out of the holder.
  13. I was at Home Depot today and saw an electric staple gun for carpet installation, more than enough power for a seat, it was $170.

I would advise anyone getting a ticket to always plead innocent at the first hearing. At the trial, before it starts, you can plea bargin and they will cut you a deal. Depending on your situation they may offer dropping the points and even the fine, I have even had them throw the ticket out all together cost me nothing. If you take it to trial and the cop who wrote the ticket doesn't show you have them throw the ticket out. If they got you from a airplane then both cops have to be there or you have them throw the ticket out. Never pay a waiver or plead no contest or guilty unless you don't care about the money or points causing your insurance to increase. I have even taken a ticket to trial, cross examined the cop myself, and won having the ticket thrown out costing me nothing. Know your rights and don't be bullied. Just my $.02 Oh ya, sorry to hear about your ticket.
  15. Ya I guess it is cooler, when I buy a dvd I skip the stunt shows and parking lots and go for the street action. Maybe cooler is the wrong word, maybe its just watching someone unnecessarly risk it all for no gain. Ya its a bad habit and I try to be as safe as possible and I usually do it when no one is around. Sorry Nice pics!
  16. Dang it I missed 14, top 10 women vs top 10 men. Duh

Sorry for your loss truly. There is a greek saying something like this: A boy doesn't become a man till he buries his father. Guess we are both men now.

Most everyone talks crap about something Ford vs Chevy, OSU vs Michigan, Black vs White. I grew up with Harley parents and the crowd and I love those a##holes. They are fun, loud, abnoxious but most of all loyal unlike the sportbikers which are pretty much everyone for himself. Don't get me wrong I am not knocking anyone thats just the way it is. Some day when I get old, if I make it, I will end up on a harley as dare I say, so will most you.
  21. Any rider not impressed by your skills is just jealous including me. I also have a motard and ride wheelies but I haven't got the back brake to become instinct. Last time I did a standup as I fell back I got the throttle locked on then had my right leg hanging straight back anticapating a loop but luckly the bike tacked out before going over guess it looked kinda like a flamingo with wrong leg back. I do all my stuff on the streets with regular tire pressure so I'm sure thats holding me back. Any tips on back brake control and standups besides practise and trying a quad? Thanks
  22. Hi, To my knowledge: a slight carbon film on the valve may cause a slight compression leak only noticeable if you were racing or on a dyno or a leak down test. Excessive clearance can only be caused by 3 things: 1. Adjusted that way. 2. Valve stem or cam wear caused by oil starvation or soft components. 3. Carbon build up on valve and seat. Keep riding your bike the same way and check again, if clearance is the same or smaller then it was adjusted that way. If clearance is bigger it would be 2or3. Either way lugging the engine causes carbon build up. Just my opinion and opinions are like a##holes, everyone has one, some stink worse than others. Good Luck
  23. Hi, Carbon build up on valve and seat will increase the valve to cam clearence because the valve is sealing against a layer of carbon. A good hard ride before and after practise may clear the carbon out. Extra clearance will not hurt anything but clearance increase and slight power decrease and with more clearance more ticking. The only worry would be if you continue to ride only at low revs then the carboning may get worse. Good Luck!
  24. Hi, Glad everything worked out for you, it was probably the prayer!
  25. Hi, It may be carbon build up from barely reving it. It might do you good to ride it hard once in awhile to blow the carbon out. The bummer would be shimming it then having the carbon blown out leaving no clearence.
