  1. Originally, I had my eyes set on the 24-105 f4L. Then there was the huge debate of whether or not I would need the IS. I find myself photographing subject matter in low light condition, so I think the 24-70 f2.8L would be the way to go.

If you are shooting dark concerts or weddings, the 24-70 may be the way to go, but the IS on the 24-105 makes up some of the aperture loss. IS is real nice, especially when you only have one shot at photo.

  2. From what I have heard about it, fun, great for shows, and is especially family and/ or couple oriented. My friend that lives in MO said it is pretty unique, I don't see any reason for you not to stop and at least check it out. I would say it may be worth a stop for day, but I'm not sure about a few. I almost stopped myself when I was out that way over the summer, but it was a little off my planned route.

  3. We had a great time tonight! Thanks to MJ and Art for coming out' date=' and for MJ bringin three other people, with Melissa and me it made 7 of us.

Pretty good time even though I'm not sure I like that whole "Extreme" bowling in the dark, kinda threw my alignment off not being able to see the lane and markers real well. Although the music and videos were pretty cool, damn them country music women are hottt! Made it difficult to concentrate sometimes :D[/quote']

I don't think it was the darkness throwing your alignment off. I think it was the big screen in the middle of your lane flashing Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, and Rhianna's nipple tape.

  4. I'm in for bowling on Sawmill at any time.

Unless I have something else to do. Or I fall asleep Or I just feel stressed. :)

Seriously though, I love to bowl and am always looking for an excuse to break out my stylin' shoes, and Sawmill Lanes is 5 minutes from my house.

I may even try out the Wii bowling event if I can make it that night.

  5. I used to have the 24-70 L and the the 24-105 L, and dumped the 24-70 in favor of the other. I liked it better, especially for portrait work. Some of the earlier 24-105's were notas good, but I think mine was a later 07 version and it was super crisp and had the best bokeh on a lens I've ever seen. Check it out, very good lens. After buying it, I dumped everything except the 100-400 L and the Tokina 12-24. Didn't need anything else.

fredmiranda.com is probably the best for used Canon lens(or was a couple years ago). Sometimes you can get lucky and Adorama or B&H will have used/ refurbed lenes too.

  6. Saw it this past weekend. Pretty damn good. 3D was outstanding.

I hope if they continue to use this 3D technology regularly, they will start selling decent glasses at Best Buy or something. Those cheap theater glasses hurt my ears. I want some styin' shades. :)

  7. Well I'm excited, and just wanted to share. After a few hundred choices, many quotes from the Hangover, and other stupid or offensive suggestions, my band finally came up with a name. I feel legit now:p

    The name is SHALLOWTAIL.

WTF right? Well, in our thought process, I was trying to think of something to tie us together, and thought about the Ohio flag(OR Tees put this in my head). The pennant shape of our unique flag is called a burgee. I suggested that, and got a resounding "meh" from the others, and the drummer suggested the other name for the pennant, which is swallowtail. Only he mispelled it(this was over email) shallowtail. We thought it was pretty damn cool. Random word, came about as a mistake, pretty much how a band should be named, so we went with it.

So there's a small snippet of my life, and an inside look at how bands function.

Let me know what you think. Shows should be coming in March. We're thinking Flanagans on Sawmill for the first, we know some people there. Hopefully OR can represent strong so we get asked back. We'll be recording some demos after New Years. I'll post details as soon as we know.

Hope everyone has a good holiday!

Just made a reservation myself. They told me $59.99 for two double beds. I asked for a room that had several next to, & across from that were still available for booking. They don't have adjoining rooms, so I figured this was next best solution to keep us all together

Smart a$$ kid on the phone... Jarod, says he can't guarantee all our rooms will be together, even though he's showing there's plenty around my room right now. They don't reserve "blocks" as in, rooms all next to each other, only "blocks" as in they'll take multiple reservations at once

Smart a$$ Jarod says all he can do is put in a request that we all want to be next to each other, & couldn't give me a room # either.

PM me if you want my info so we can all room around each other
