Take this how you want' date=' but I'm in my thirties... If I could have the last 15 years back I'd go into the Military. Most likely the AirForce, but any branch can offer you substantial compensation for the time spent. The GI Bill is a wonderful thing if used with common sense.[/quote']
+1. I planned my whole life to go in to the military, but blew out my knee and several reconstructions. They don't take people with screws holding joints together. Would love to able to go back, but now I'm just old.
If you're in doubt, it's pretty hard to go wrong joining any branch. You have a job for 4 years, get an good eduation during and tuition assistance afterwards, and you'll meet a ton of contacts for the future.
I doubt many of the vets on this board will tell you different.

Well after a few years of being a bystander, I finally got back into music and joined a band again. I never realized how happy it me.
We're coming along pretty good, should be ready to gig regularly in a few months as a cover band.
Originals will be coming, but down the road. All of just want to get into the swing of things for a while.
One of the toughest aspects of a cover band is song selection.
I am hoping with vast number of people that hop on this board, we can get a good cross section of what people like to hear. We're pretty much open to anything, pop, rock, a little country.
We are predominately a modern rock band(think 106.7 in Columbus), so usually we twist other genres into rock.
Anyway, what do like to hear when you see a cover band?
Does it depend on the venue?
Do you go see cover bands to dance?
just to hear some music?
Background noise?
Just go because the singer is cute?
Throw out some songs that get you excited.
My vocal range is decent, along the lines of Eddie Vedder(Pearl Jam)/ Bono(U2)/ Aaron Lewis(Staind)/ Jason Ross(Seven Mary Three).
Don't limit it to that type of music, we play everything from 4 Non-Blondes, Johnny Cash, Katy Perry, Sublime, whatever. I do suck at 80's music like Journey though, but throw it anyway. We may just play it different.
I would appreciate any feedback you can give. I have a song survey, but its an excel file with 200 songs that I figured no one would want to fill out. I can post if requested. Thanks!

I have ISO pegs but I didn't buy the stirrups cuz it's an extra hundred bucks or so! ridiculous!
Shop around, I think I paid around $100 for the ISO pegs and the stirrups.
Iron Pony will match prices too if you ask a manager.
Try scootworks, com or amazon. Dennis Kirk may even have them cheaper.
For long riding, it was some of the best money I've spent on the bike.
-
check out stirrups, floorboard feel without the bulk and no loss of ground clearance. I love mine, takes away quite a bit of fatigue.

wait , really? lol i really want to know what to expect so dont fuck with me!
no fairies. Just a good hyper drunk buzz.
-
I've had real thujone absinthe in Canada. Back in the day I was into hallucinogens quite a bit, and the green fairy didn't impress me much. It's a different kind of buzz for sure; I liked it as far as alcohol goes, but don't expect to trip or anything. Get some shrooms for that.
-
bad link or are you at work?
-
pretty funny and truthful.....
hopefully not a re-post.

Sorry guys, I lost a friend in a similar freak accident on a dirt bike, I know it's tough. Hang in there and remember your friend, condolences to you and his family.
-
Things are definitely getting crazy. I do think that Gemma knows that Clay took out her old man. There was something said awhile back that makes me think that. Basically her talking about how her ex was turning Jax against the club from beyond the grave. So, who knows. I am sure that we will be finding something out soon!!!
I'm pretty sure last season Gemma and Clay had some pillow talk about how they took out old man Teller.
Fonz and others, does watching this show kinda make you wanna turn the DTC into a hardcore 1% MC?
-
I'll prolly be solo this year at the IMS. Also plan on staying the night Saturday.
F that driving back at 2 shit. So a bunch of the DTC peeps could chip in and crash there too. Don't want any drinkin drivers. Nahmean?
I'll pitch in and stay with you, cuddly bear.
-
yep thatll prolly be what happens.
Youre like a once monthly friend.
We're gonna change your name to Man-pon.
Yep. I've sucked as a friend lately. Sorry.
Another month and a half all the stupid programming classes will be done, easy crap next semester, and done.
Also, not living with my soon to be ex-wife will take away some stress.
Really though, it is the best pickup line ever. (not that I'm working hard on dating).
"Hey, wanna go back to my place? My live-in ex-wife will throw shit at you and then take all my stuff. Sounds fun, huh?"
-
I'm in for the show and the after-party 100%.
If I try to make some excuse that I can't make it, I expect Jagr and Moose to to break in my house and drag me there by scrawny neck.
By then, school won't be killing me and we're dead at work in the winter, so shouldn't be a problem.
-
I've been wanting to do this. I was mountain biking a lot last summer, never rode it once this year.
Getting out shape, maybe I'll head up there a few times. Had free passes last winter and never made it once.
Place looks amazing.
-
Oomp seems to sell his own pipes as soon as he puts them on his bike.
Chuck, talk to Oomp about pipes for sure, his custom jobs will do much better than any factory pipes.
I have the Cobra drags, jetted, I like 'em.
-
I did around 8000, 4000 in the one trip. Have maybe ridden 300 miles since then.
Tired of being wet, and haven't had much time when it is nice.
-
My bike has been collecting dust the past few weeks, so if I can find a few free hours and my inner sissy will be warm enough, I'll show.
-
Man I must be on ignore or something.
Any of the ones I did are vector. All but shiny side up and the duck are 1 spot color anyway, The rest I can convert to grayscale in Photoshop to be 1 color, there about 20 spot colors in each of those, would need to be converted anyway.
Need help with song selection for a cover band
