  1. True dat. I tried getting into the USAF in 2002, I think my ASVAB was 88. My recruiter immediately started seeing dollar signs, as apparently I scored higher than the average bear and he gets a bonus for high ASVAB placements.

Just understand that the recruiter has a financial incentive and motivation to get you in the door. The recruiter that I had openly suggested that I falsify medical records, then when I was able to find those medical records, he "suggested" that I bury them. Needless to say I didn't. If things don't appear on the level, get out of there and get some advice.

That's crazy, happened to me to, After my knee surgeries, tried out of high school to serve, recruiter told me no way.

Tried again a couple years later while in college probably around '98. Took the ASVAB and scored 99 percentile, they were almost ready to blow me to sign up, and I pretty much could have went to any program in any branch.

Went to do the physical , remember it being some overnight ordeal.

Had a meeting with a few guys that wanted to me to change some medical info and get another surgery to remove the pins that I have. I was real close to doing it.

  2. What amazes me is that the campaigns for this seldom mention what the vote is actually for, and that is something about jobs rather than casinos.

People are going to gamble no matter what if they want to. Out of state, illegally, whatever. Let em do it here.

This particular vote for it may not be the correct one, there are some problems with it, but eventually we need to let it happen.

I don't understand why they make about the jobs. So we get some people migrating to Ohio. Better than the usual trend of leaving. Most of the low wage jobs here are being working by foreign immigrants anyway, so it doesn't change anything. Anyone living and working here still pays Ohio taxes and spends money at Ohio businesses.

  3. I am totally shocked!!!!!!! Okay... my hubby (who you've met) just stood over my shoulder as I looked over the pictures of your house and I told him exactly what I am typing now. You are such a wonderful guy. I only met you after the OR Meet (July 12?) and Greet but I thought you were awesome. You and Moose were fantastic people for Melissa (DiamoGirl) and and I to take our first ride with as newbies.

I wish you all the best in the world and if she can't see how wonderful you are she's BLIND and NEVER will. I saw it in a very short time.

Thanks again for being so awesome.

    *hugs*

Wow, keep that up and I might turn into the arrogant prick I was 10 years ago. :D Seriously, thanks for the kind words from you and everyone.

  4. No worries, I'm cool with it, probably more than I should be.

Just want to sell the house and move on, but I'm not in such a hurry that I'll lowball it. Only been on the market 3 days and has had several showings already, We(and our realtor) think it will go pretty quick at a good price.

  5. Saw the other thread about the house for sale, never even thought about that we did that here. Figured I may as well post this up.

Sad as it is, my wife Shauna and I thought it best to go our separate ways.

Wasn't really expecting this, took my trip out west, everything was great, got back, told her I was ready for kids, she finally went to an OR meet and greet, got home that afternoon and ended a 7 year relationship. Surprise!

We were having problems a while back, but I thought we were through them. I am oblivious. No worries, it's good.

Oh well, that means I have to sell my house now. Only been on the market a few days and getting some views, should go fast(I hope). Very desirable area near Dublin. Half the neighborhood is Dublin, half Columbus with Worthington Schools. Columbus Taxes, 43235 ZIP. Great neighbors, very family friendly.

I've done about $15000(with me doing the labor) in remodels the past 3 years. New deck, both bathrooms have been remodeled completely(took them both down the studs and subfloor), Great bar and floor to ceiling shelves in finished basement.

3 bedroom 2 bath. 3 level split. 2 Car garage, I've done a lot of work on our yard, Tons of stone, pretty nice. Good size yard(smaller back yard, big side yard, and small front). On a quiet cul-de-sac.

Newer roof(2005), vinyl siding with brick front, appliances are all about 3 years old.

Partly fenced by the neighbors, I was going to finish it in the spring. One side is dog ear, one is shadow box. I was planning on turning the dog ear side into a shadowbox, the neighbor and I talked about it and he built the fence backwards for me to do this, I'm sure this would still be okay.

Here's a link for pics. If you use my realtor as your buying agent, I know I can save you a bit right there. Let me know if anyone is interested, or know anyone that may be.

  6. Bellaire, Ohio. Near Wheeling. Poor town USA. Had over 20000 people in the 50's/60's, now has 4000. I rarely go back, too depressing. Great MC roads though.

Big high school football town, whole region is, almost like Texas. I went to school with 3 NFL players. Pretty good when there were only 400 students. A couple of others mayhave made it if they would have stayed out of trouble. The team sucks now.

  7. shes not using her computer to build websites or graphic design. for everyday use you wont beat a mac out of the box.period

Dude, you crack me up. When you like something, you really like it. If you don't like it, you really fucking hate it. Seems like no middle ground. I like it.

Nothing wrong with standing behind what you believe in. I'm too lazy to love passionately or hate fervently.

  8. Well....yeah. It's nice when you're Mac doesn't crash while running a graphics intensive process and you get ahead of it. Adobe Photo Suite is a big program :D

Like I said in my previous post, I am a graphic designer, I'm using Photoshop and Illustrator at minimum 8 hours a day, almost always switching back and forth between the two, using Bridge, Sometimes Indesign, a RIP software, and another vector based design program specific to the sign industry. My 2 main PC's never crash, The G5 Mac crashes almost every time I open it.

Back in the day, Macs ran graphics software way better. When Adobe started programming equally for for both platforms, that went away, so Mac lost that advantage.

I don't do video, so I can't speak for that, but I'll take a Windows machine to design with using Adobe over a Mac every time.

  9. I have 2 PCs at home, 2 at work, and a G5 mac at work.

I turn on the mac about 3 times a year when someone brings me a Quark file. It was top of the line a year and half ago, and I found it slow even then.

I build my own PC's with better stuff that Apple uses at a third of the the cost. It runs faster(I'm a designer running memory hog design software and RIP programs too), never had a virus(Avast rules), and between the 4 PC's the only time one of them crashed in the past year is because I kicked a cord in the back pretty hard and knocked the video card loose.

Macs are good computers, don't get me wrong. I have nothing against them, but their marketing.

To me, most of their appeal is to people that are trendy and/or anti-establishment, but in reality by buying a Mac for that reason is the exact opposite of that. If you are trying to be different and get the same thing that everyone else does, that makes you the same as everyone else. Kind of like trying to be a Hot Topic goth.

Not saying that everyone that owns a Mac is like that either, so don't take it the wrong way.

Vista(at least ultimate) is not the greatest OS ever, but not as bad as everyone thinks with the service packs. I only run it on one PC at home that I just built, because I got free Windows 7 upgrade which will come with any PC purchased in the next few months.

There are actually things that I like about it, but I am running the 64 bit version. 18 GBs of RAM is nice.

Get what you want though, you're the one using it.

  10. Dublin...I say there's two dublin's. There's Dublin-dublin, which I like to consider is outside 270 and north of 161. That's the nice expensive dublin. If I had the money, I'd live there! Then there's other dublin...dublin-columbus. it's inside of 270. There are nice areas here but typically you pay columbus taxes but get dublin schools!!! Either way, I don't think you can go wrong living in either section of Dublin and I highly recommend it.

Good description. I live in the Columbus-Dublin area around Sawmill, have for about 10 years, and probably won't live anywhere else in Columbus. Easy to get around town and probably the least amount of traffic despite what anyone says. Highly unlikely to get run down and turn into a ghetto, too many regulations and HOA's. Hard to go wrong with this area in C-bus.

  11. I know Ben wants to get this going, so I finally squeezed in a few minutes to work on a few layouts. Here are 3 simple designs, If I get a chance tomorrow or if Ben waits until Tuesday, I can do another grungy "Gay Affliction" type shirt. (f off haters :D)

If nobody gives a crap about another grungy shirt design and are only going to vote for choices with cocks on them, I won't waste my time I guess.
