  1. Difficulty was nil. I haven't had a chance to really ride yet, but just sitting on it and puttering around a few miles, it is awesome. I'll post a how-to here in a while, it's a busy weekend.
  2. Hi, just wondering if I know you or possible your kids if you have them. My name is Art Piatt, graduated from Bellaire in '95. My dad(same name) graduated in '68.

Don't get back to the valley much any more, but I do I miss the roads and being able to go off-roading any time I want.

  3. I just redid my padding Tuesday night, now have a memory foam cushion. I'm going to post a how-to as soon as I get a minute to write it up. I just re-used all of the OEM Seat, just cut it up and put memory foam in it. Used a 14 dollar pillow from walmart. Don't know anything about custom stitching though.
  4. Welcome from a former Bellaire resident. Go Big Reds!
  5. I do like that forum, but you're right, the layout sucks and keeps me away from it. Shadow Riders and Spirit World seem great for Shadow and mod advice, but I don't think anything beats OR for socializing and and getting to meet people. My monkeysphere can only be so big, so nationwide forums don't seem as personable to me. It's much easier to hide behind the keyboard, and I tend to care less about the individual that is posting.
  6. Welcome! You'll find plenty of people to ride with.
  7. Man, I tried on helmets ranging from $40 to $700. I did not find the Arai's, Nolan's, Sharx, Shoei's or any of the high end ones comfortable at all. Too much padding and felt too enclosed.
  8. Exactly. I didn't mean it as a bad thing, I'm just saying go for comfort and safety. No one looks cool when their helmet(or head) is split open on the concrete. Don't buy a helmet only for it's looks.
  9. Talk to me about helmets when we meet up. I've tried on about 100 in the past month or so. No full faces, but I've tried on nearly every 3/4 and half that is made, and have driven all over Ohio to different vendors. Pick a few you may like, and I'll let you know about them. I ended up going with an HJC CL-33 with a clear shield for long highway rides, and a bought a separate visor for every day riding. Not the thinnest, but one of the most comfortable. I also found out the only time you really notice a thin helmet is in the mirror. If you look at guys cruising by, you can't even tell a difference. Everyone looks like a dork in a helmet, no getting around it. What type of helmet are you looking for? It's funny, you're asking questions about all the things that I have just completed.
  10. Got plans Sat morning? If not, come and and ride in the parade with me and Lance.

  11. I'm assuming you have spoke wheels? I had some vibration problems lately, wheels were out of true. 45-50 is where it got bad. Clamp a wire close to the wheel, spin the wheel and see it moves a way from the wire. If so, take it over Honda NW or somewhere to get them fixed up. Dustin in Tipp City will take good care of you if you want to drive a bit.
  12. I figured you could join up with the Shadows since there are not too many zuki cruisers on here.

Not that we really do anything....., but I'm trying.

  13. I'll be a warm body in the parade if you need me to.
  14. Jagr, you know you want a Shadow, and we're not even close to gixxers. , not that there is anything wrong with that. 12000 miles on a sprocket, huh? Hmm. I may have to check mine real fast before I sell, Last time I checked was at 7 when I did the rear, has about 11 on it now. Tbone, no worries, I already told Lance you had first dibs if mine is still purty.
  15. I live near Sawmill, I'll be busy or gone until late Thursday, but I should be around this weekend. Probably go to Hooters on Fri.
  16. BTW, sprocket changes are a very easy mod to do yourself if you've never done one before.
