  1. Nice. I freakin' love matte black bikes, and red and black is always cool(they were my high school colors, kinda hard to beat that school spirit out of you). BTW, I still think Cdubyah has one of the coolest bikes on this board as well. If these guys are riding together, that is just pure sweetness cruising down the road.
  2. Maybe next year, I just want to ride the rest of this season.
  3. I finished the bike up a few weeks ago, and never got around to posting pics so here they are. I had Paul(Attack Painter) put a fresh coat of paint on my tank and fenders, and was very impressed with how they turned out. The previous owner had drilled some holes in the rear fender, so I patched them up and Paul did a great job covering my work, and the tank looks brand new now. If anyone is looking for a paint job, I think it would be pretty hard to pass up using Paul for top quality work at a fantastic price. Flashy colors and paint just are not my style, so I just kept it black. I looked into murdering out the whole bike, but that was a bit out of my price range at the time. It's freaking hard to find parts for a cruiser that are not chrome. Here are some before and after pics. Mods done- Paint job obviously. New tires 42 to 38 tooth sprocket change and new chain K&N air filter Billski tailight mod--this is the part that pleases me the most, I freaking hated that lunch box looking thing that was on there before. New bags and supports. New pegs, pedals and stirrups, I was looking for floorboards without the bulk and the stirups are awesome. They really add a lot of comfort to the bike. I stripped it down and did a good tune-up too. The only thing left is maybe a new windshield. Not sure If I really like the one I bought last year, I don't think I like how it looks, I may go with a 4 point system. I had a lot of fun doing all of this, and it feeels like a whole new bike for a not a ton of money. Before- Stripped down- Freshly painted tank- Taillight mod-
  4. Cool. How do you practice for that kind of stuff?
  5. I thought the quote about the deaths seemed a bit high, I think there would have been more news about that, and I would think it wouldn't be continued if so. I searched the web for any info to back this up, and could not find anything. I've been to rallies before and I don't mind a party, and the bike stays parked once I start drinking. Not saying nothing can ever happen to me, but I try to lower my odds of being a statistic. I don't really mind the HD crowd either, and I'm not looking to hook up so the what the crowd looks like is not important to me. I just don't want to walk into an Easy Rider Rodeo atmosphere and get harassed because I don't ride a certain type of bike. I figured this would draw a younger crowd with good mix of riders. Maybe I'm wrong. I also saw some threads from last year about a group of Ohio Riders going up that I think never happened, maybe it should be taken into consideration this year.
  6. Pretty sure I'm going to go to Sandusky for Ohio Bike week in June, and I've never been there before. What is the crowd like? Is it mostly HD, sportbikes, or a good mix? I don't really fit in with either(I ride a metric cruiser), but a good mix would be just fine. Do people usually camp and party all night or is it better to get a hotel? Just looking to get a feel for the atmosphere. Thanks!
  7. That's a big difference. I'd say keep the Harley, but I'm a cruiser guy. Looks like you already have a Duc, why would you not keep it and the Harley and ride either/ or depending on what you were doing?
  8. Welcome! Nice bike, looks pretty clean. Hope you enjoy it.
  9. Not sure, he never really told me any specific details and we don't talk as much as we should, I don't live near him. I hope not though, he's kinda heavy and unhealthy as it is, he doesn't need any more problems.
  10. Not me and not bike related, but this is a pic of my dad after he got his thyroid removed earlier this week. Looks like Al Queda started on him.
  11. Cool, man. So far you've had some interesting posts, but sometimes they are bit hard to read BTW, that bike is too sweet for zip ties. Get the eliminator kit.
  12. Dave, I know this is kinda dickish, sorry, but I want to introduce you to someone. . His name is Mr. Period, and he can be your friend. He will make your posts easier to read and comprehend and not sound like you just sucked down an eightball of cocaine.
  13. I hike and camp a lot, and I swear by Columbia products. I have a few of their base layers, and they work extremely well. I also like their socks and soft shell jackets. Not cheap, but cheaper than Under Armour. Every once in the while you can find the base layers at Kohl's half off, but that's usually in the winter, but you may give it a try.
  14. I saw this a few days ago, pretty cool, and they have way too much time on their hands.
  15. Welcome! It's pretty cool here.
  16. WTF is Oregon Trail? I'm 31 and I've never even heard of it. Maybe growing up in backwoods Ohio has something to do with it.
  17. That's probably BS, I bought an 02 with 7000 miles on it last year and got a warranty. There was a free 30 day and I payed a bit extra for a two year to be safe.
  18. Sweet. I need to get mine out more, but I'm lazy. One of the coolest things I've ever done was ride the JEM trail in Utah. I would say I would ride with you, but last time I rode I got lapped at Alum Creek by a guy riding a Huffy with a broken wheel. I really need to get in shape.
  19. I don't think she meant this as her being perfect, I think she meant it as "if you can say hello and ask me my name without asking to see my boobs, there is a pretty good chance I'll let you see them later."
  20. Nick- a female friend of mine just posted this on Facebook about guys and communication- "If guys show even remote language skills beyond "Girl pretty. Boobs. Beer? Fun," we'll salivate a bit. And if you can use more than six words in a sentence AND know what they all mean AND make them multi-syllabic, well... see what happens." Take heed single guys. It's easy to make girls happy. Keeping them that way is a whole other issue.
  21. +1 I've never felt to need to pay for something I can get free with just minimal effort. Some girls are exhibitionist by nature and easy to lure out. Others are easy and just put out. Some are just very nice, like the girls on this forum I wouldn't know anymore anyway. The joys of marriage.
  22. I'm in for sure, I read somewhere there is a Kroger near by, I'll probably come, see what we need and then go get it since I'll be on the bike. If there is anything specific that is known to be needed, Let me know. If anyone in the Dublin area wants to meet beforehand and ride over together, that would be cool. We can stop and meet the Westervillians too if you guys want.
  23. Welcome! I'm in GC a lot, most of the friends grew up and still live there. I'm not from there though, thank god I'm sure you'll start seeing the bikes at Roosters or Wings & Rings real soon.
  24. 15 and in the 8th grade? WTF?
