I would think the guy who filmed would be liable for something as he was waving everyone after the car. Seriously, wtf was this dude thinking posting this video? Did he think people would find the car at fault? There are so many traffic violations in that video.

Interesting, I didn't notice the lack of plates the first time around. The first douche who got hit did not have a plate that I could see. It's amazing seeing comments on some of the national news sites where people don't recognize the first guy that got hit was trying to see how close he could get to the SUV.

I'm not sure how I feel about running the guys over to start out with cause you just can't tell what was going on, regardless of the motorcyclist causing the accident. I don't think stopping around someone on the highway warrants it. If they were trying to do what they did later and ripping the door open or smashing the window, then absolutely. The guy smashing the window at the end... wouldn't have batted an eye if the driver shot him. Just saw the guy who tried to rip the door open on the highway defending the bikers. Sorry bro, you tried to rip open the door, that's gotta be close to assault? What surprised me most in this video was how many of them were actually wearing helmets...

Stiff laws will only lead to more "my poor mom just had one beer with dinner and now has to spend 40 years in jail or get limbs amputated" stories, not less traffic fatalities. No one ever thinks THEY are too intoxicated to drive and not enough people want to DD or call a cab. The people who hand over the keys or take a DD with them are doing out of feelings of personal responsibility, not fear of prison time and that will likely continue to be the case. Don't get me wrong, my personal sense of justice says a DUI that kills another person ought to be fucked over for life because I think we take loss of someone's life WAY TOO lightly in this country. However, IMO, our best defense is ride defensive as hell, practice situational awareness, and pretend every car on the road is going to try to kill you whenever you get near it and every time you go through an intersection.

My car silences most emergency vehicles better than ear plugs. I usually never hear sirens until they are right up on my ass.

You all are missing one key fact: the bars are free moving even when your hands are not on the bars. Yes, the bike will lean and change directions with no hands on the bars, but that doesn't mean the front wheel isn't turning on it's own slightly.
