  1. The line is sometimes a little blurry, but private dancers.
  2. Dollar for dollar the man's got a point. A bunch of friends and I got 2 dancers for my buddy's birthday party, it ended up being 200 all-in for the group. Cut that in half, and you get a lot more attention for the same cash you would spend on 3-4 private dances and a couple of drinks. Not that, um, I do that kind of stuff anymore. I just ride to and from church...
  3. Oh, and throw in my vote for CBR's too. I've been waiting to use this smiley...
  4. Good luck going from a 250 to a Duc 1098 or Repsol 1000. Don't take it personally when Andy asks for $10K as a deposit.
  5. Columbus, hence the name of the sub-forum. I'm out y'all, out on a road trip for work. In NC now and slowly working my way back home.
  6. holy thread resurrection batman. lock this up!
  7. Would you rather I resurrected some 2 year old thread with outdated info? I ended up going with the Bridgestone BT-016's. Got a decent deal on them, 230 for the set. Don't worry IP, I'll post another thread asking for mounting...
  8. As I do not have my CCW myself, I went off what my friend told me that went through the class and has it. Point well taken.
  9. That's funny, some of the 600rr.net guys were going ape over the BT016's as well. The price on those is reasonable. I'm mainly after something exactly what you have, something with excellent tread wear for Coshocton/Hocking rides, yet have some balls that can be called up when necessary. I really don't plan on doing a ton of trackdays, so soft sticky compound isn't what I'm after.
  10. It's time to find some new shoes for the 600RR, and I wanted to get a feel for what was working for everyone else when it comes to tires. I have a set of Metzeler Roadtec Z6's on the Katana, and I've found I can lean and corner MUCH better than the stock Macadam's. I know I probably won't trackday the RR much, so I'm after tooling around town and country riding. Also, preferred tire vendors would be nice too. I've seen IP's price vs. everyone else and they are crazy.
  11. Ah, the old "I'll pay you x4 the asking amount, please wire me back the difference to Nigeria" scam. This has been around for years. Instead of the money, tell him you are going to send his kid a Apple P-P-P-Powerbook: http://www.zug.com/pranks/powerbook/
  12. In his defense, he really didn't flaunt the fact he was a cop. The ticketing officer asked them if they had anything he should know about, and being a police officer means that you are more than likely concealed carrying. Anytime you are stopped by police you have to by law declare to the cop that you are carrying a lawful firearm, and that's basically what they did. Now, if this were any civilian with a CCW, the cop would have disarmed that person immediately, stored the firearm in his cruiser, and completed the stop. That didn't happen here due to the fact that they were cops, and that's why they declared that right off the bat. I'm totally fine with this. And that is as far as the special treatment should have went given the circumstances.
  13. I think the main ones as far as OR turnout are the QS&L on Wednesday's and the Buffalo Wings and Rings on Thursday's. If you get to the old Circuit City parking lot early enough on Wednesday's, that's your best chance to get on some bikes in a controlled (mostly, it's still a public lot) environment. Once you get to QS&L you're going to be really cramped and it will be hard/impossible to do anything but sit on it and hope you don't kick the bike next to you.
  14. I see your Ska and raise you this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJQcJBjObEc
  15. Yep. It's basically carte blanche to go however fast you want. Go 100 in a 65 with minimal to no traffic in a safe (for public roads) area? Get charged with reckless op because the cop wants to make you an "example"? Spend a hour or two of your time in court, and those pieces of paper won't be worth the ink printed on them. As long as you can prove there were no aggravating circumstances like lane-splitting through 71 at rush hour doing 100 on one wheel, there's no reason that I can see that you won't get off. My question to any lawyers (armchair or otherwise) is that if a case precedent is set in one country (Licking), can you reference that case as defense in other counties?
  16. No German Chocolate Cake for me... The shakes made up for it, especially hearing your waiter talk about his Lord of the Rings quest to make it... My apologies to whoever was behind the white 600RR in the group ride there, my turning line was all messed up and I'm still getting used to the throttle at low speeds. Getting some new tires hopefully today.
  17. Yota, would you recommend Bridgestone BT016's for my 600RR? I'm trying not to spend above 250 for the tires. How would these differ from, say a set of Pilot Power 2ct's?
  18. In reality, they aren't linked. The police and politicians would love for you t believe that they are. That's what makes the irony so delicious, you can now beat them over the head with it.
  19. I started out on a 02 Katana 600. The power-to-weight ratio of that vs. something like my 600RR is night and day. It's FAR easier to do something completely retarded on my RR than it is on the Katana. For example, if you can hold a 45 degree wheelie on my Kat for more than 10 seconds, I'll title the bike over to you.* offer void in Ohio In getting a larger, more obscure bike like that, there are a few drawbacks. When you drop it (and it's just a matter of time), you are dropping a fully faired, 460 pound DRY piece of metal. It's going to take some effort to bring back up, and now you've just dinged up a few pieces of pretty expensive plastic. If you need parts in a hurry, good luck finding them at Iron Pony. Most everything you will buy will be mail order, which isn't terrible as you'll save some cash from IP. *offer valid in interwebland
  20. He's got a point. The 88-97's had a huge problem with the 2nd gear shift fork, it would get bent if you mis-shifted long enough. Easier and cheaper to replace motor/tranny combo than it is to rip the tranny apart to replace the fork.
  21. Oh, and... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prgm4eKq6d4
  22. Open window Extend arms ??? Profit
  23. Ended up buying the 600RR. Thanks all!
