True that, wear the wrong helmet before you don't wear one at all.
-
The High end helmets like the Arai Corsair RX-7, Shoei X-12, Bell Star, etc, are designed for racing. They are noisy and light weight; designed to flow maximum amount of air and keep you alive in a high speed impact. At low speeds they may end up giving you a bigger headache b/c they are stiffer than the cheap plastic composite shell helmets; but they weren't designed to be crashed at 25 mph, they were designed to crash at 125+ mph. So get the right helmet for what you're doing. Are you just tooling around town on your ninja 250? then don't get an X-12; do you enjoy pushing your bike to the limit on the track every other Sunday? then don't settle for a ZXR. And for heavens sake make sure the helmet fits; no, you don't wear an XL.

Tracks out here don't recognize any other rating besides Snell, your helmet can be ECE cert or any other cert that is just as good or better than Snell, but if it doesn't have a Snell sticker (most current two years) they wont let you on the track.

i bet you did.
Yep, cost me $2.50

Question, you cut off a motorcycle and stop in front of it, as you jump out of your car with you hand on your gun said motorcyclist starts backing away from you, this act scares you?????? so you pull your gun on him? I don't think so.
If the biker had been armed, you could almost say he would have had the right to draw his weapon and defend himself since the cop didn't declare his identity.

Just go to The Iron Pony if you're too lazy to work on it yourself.
Yeah if you have deep pockets and a stock pile of KY. Don't take your bike to Iron Pony; that being said I don't really know about the other shops b/c well I always work on my own bikes.

theres a "gay st" in downtown columbus also.
I parked on Gay St. once...
-
Max, you are full of pic fail, I can't see either one of you posts.
-
Is that from downtown C-bus? -
They'd have to figure out how to get the bike leaned over far enough for my knee to be touching the ground... assuming that my bike wasn't destroyed in the process of my dieing. And, I'd want to be in full gear; you what, n/m, just burn my remains in a big bonfire, it's cheaper that way.

Uh.... 20% of maximum torque is saying that anything below 64 ft lbs is inaccurate.
I think you are saying that anything sub 16 ft lbs should be used with a smaller ranged torque wrench...
Below 20% of max torque, not 20% below max torque or however you came up w/ your goofy #. Yes, on an 80 ft-lb torque wrench if you go below 16ft-bls (20% of 80) then it will be inaccurate, and the degree of inaccuracy increases exponentially the lower you go.

Think we could make it there and back in a weekend?
Only took me 29 hours of drive time to get here, plus 10 accumulated hours of naps. So perhaps a three day weekend.
-
Screw the PO box, I'll mail my envelope to Yota and have him hound you for an orange sticker for me.
-
Still a torque wrench is never accurate once it goes below 20% of it's max torque, so that wrench is not considered accurate below 16ft-lbs.

+1 factory manuals are the best, well worth the extra $.

Well next time the Power "breaks" giver her written notice that it is broken, and if she doesnt get it turned on then you break your lease.
-
Man if it's under 20 ft-lbs I just do it by feel... though I would never do that on a customer's bike

Doing it yourself or getting a shop to do it?
I did a headgasket replacement on my 96 Zx600, it was $50 for the head gasket and about a week of disassembling and reassembling when I had the time to work on it, shouldn't really take more than 3 or 4 solid hours of work if you have everything ready to go. A v twin might actually be slightly easier if it is push rod controlled, I tore the top end off an HD Evo motor, measured clearances, and put it back together all in 3hrs for class. When you don't have to mess w/ overhead cams and cam chain timing, it's a lot less of a headache.
