+1, I have the same thing and its a nice bike. If his heart is set on a Kow, you might try checking a 636 forum for more options. You might have to travel a bit to buy one from a forum like that, but its a little easier than checking the 500 Craigslist pages that are close to Ohio.
Craig's is still your best bet, people on kawi forums usually know how much their bike is worth, people on CL don't, so you have a better chance of finding a good deal. Plus, like you said, the ones for sale are rarely within 200 miles of your location. I could probably find him one out here for $3500 or less and ship it back to Ohio, bikes are about $1000 cheaper out here.

Yeah my offer is off the table, I don't work for that company anymore, sorry.

Glad you standed as a Kawi-Boy.....
The only time I would buy a bike that wasn't a kawi would be if I had the cash to get a 999, an RSV4, or an S1000rr... oh or an RC8.

Sorry I missed this thread, totally would have flown in from Az
Happy birthday!
You get a bigger bike yet?

sweet ride ET. Did you sell the old one?
Working on it, got a few classmates and one instructor that are interested, but it'll come down to whoever gets their tax return first.

My roommate just converted the stock forks on his 02 R1 to all Race Tech innards, he thought it was a fairly simple process... but then again we're both at the top of our class at MMI; still I think you could probably save yourself a few bucks and do it yourself.

You drive a cage?

Sounds like the light is grounding before the switch, follow the wires and see if any of the insulation has been compromised, next break out your multimeter and see if you have any volts going through the neutral indicator switch... I hope you have a manual, b/c it's going to be a bitch checking the wiring if you don't. Oh and the light being on all the time isn't causing any other problems is it? I don't think it would be tied into the ignition system, but you never know.

Mmi?
in Daily Ride
Thank you Justin for your very professional and informed judgment that I don't know squat. I have been attending MMI since Oct 12th of 09, so slightly more than six weeks.

Yeah, this winter has been really tough, I've had to wear a sweatshirt under my riding jacket almost everyday, and had to steal my roomies SP2's b/c my summer gloves just weren't cutting it anymore, and I had to shell out 9 bucks for the helmet chin guard thing that keeps to much cold air coming into my helmet at highway speeds. I can't wait for the spring riding season

39007, I concur.

Should've gotten a 'zuki.
Yeah because they make there metalh parts even smaller and lighter so they break even sooner and more often.

When the Spartans used the phrase they were ultimately annihilated. To me they both have the same sentiment with the same result. LOSER!
The Spartans at Thermopylae were all killed yes, but they succeeded in their goal, which was to inspire the rest of Greece to put aside their political differences and to stand together and fight, as well as to stall the Persian army while the major Greek powers rallied, and built up the defenses.

Traditional Cafe Racer is clip ons, LONG tank, solo seat w/cowling, bullet fairing optional. Up swept pipes preferred. Needs to be able to do 100mph minimum.
Does this count?
-
Funny you should say that, I had a Harley rider try to convince me that my bike is a "cafe racer".
I wouldnt call it a cruizer either. Put some beachcomber handlebars on it, then maybe. I'd (and Yamaha would) say its a standard.
To make your bike something like a cafe racer you'd have to put clip-ons on it under the top triple tree clamp, that would give it a more cafed look. Still though, your seat sits pretty low, when I think cafe racer I think:

Take the cam chain tensioner completely out, if you have any tension on your chain then that is what is making it so difficult to get back in.
