  1. A starter solenoid has a winding that, when enough current is passed through in the appropriate direction, shoves a plunger and makes contact between two plates. The contact allows current to flow through the starter. if the winding is damaged - it will not start. if the contacts are damaged - it will not start. if there is not enough current to hold the plunger engaged - it will not start. (that's why you hear rapid clicking when you have a weak battery). And rebuilt starters work just as well as new, barring any heat-related damage to the coils.
  2. ... tried to reply but vbulletin said I can only post one mesage every 720 minutes???

email me at netsidichocha@gmail.com, I live in the clifton area.

  3. Not a possibility. Not in rideable condition and my cage is a volkswagen...
  4. I was wondering if anyone in the Cincinnati area has a chain tool I could borrow for a weekend. I need to put a new chain and sprockets on my ninja soon and don't want to use the clip type master links I don't really want to purchase one myself (low on cash) More than willing to leave something of greater value as collateral since I am not very active on this forum. Or if you know any shops that rent out the tool for a reasonable price that works too! Thanks! Alex
  5. I know that isn't the case. But I still have a paranoid fear, irrational as it may be.

    Bike for $250

Where are you located mate? I might be interested in snatching that up.
  7. I was an organ donor till I got my MC license. I had it removed because I have the paranoid fear that the Parameds or doctors would treat me as exactly that - an organ donor. However, if I was actually in such a condition my parents and significant other know I want to be an organ donor. I just removed it from my license because of that fear. I guess I'm both sides of the coin.
  8. a Ninja 250 or 500 is really easy to remove the fairings and paint. Easy to maintain and insure as well. Would be a good starting point for her. Then again not everyone likes the way they look.
  9. http://www.cycleworld.com/article.asp?section_id=42&article_id=846 Dorsoduro imo. but that's just my preference, the xmoto is nice too.
  10. Since I live in farm country part of the year.... I hate riding along , having a wonderful time and either: 1) Riding through a huge cloud of cow shit smell. 2) Riding along and seeing horse shit in the middle of my line on a curve. (f*ck Amish people) 3) Riding along and having to slow to 5mph because of an Amish buggy. 4) Having someone I know almost die because he hit horse shit and nearly died when he was only going 25 mph. Granted he was 56, Harley, no helmet.

    riding gear

While I don't care what other people do... the idea is "dress for the crash, not the ride" Not completely true as if you're sweating your ass off you won't be able to concentrate. Hence appropriate gear for the weather
  12. Welcome! I work in the mason area and can't WAIT to get my full license so I can start commuting to work on the bike Darn MO courses fill up fast and even signing up in march my class isn't till july! So for now I just 'settle' for weekend riding as I build my on-road skills.
  13. I'm a VW/Audi Kind of guy. I like small cars, small engines (relatively), big turbos. Nothin' like a mkiv R32 on 12 lbs of boost for those boring commutes
  14. I'd probably Take a picture of them on my bike and call the police and watch for a while. If they keep playing "GP-allstar" they'll get a nice visit from the local PD
  15. Not me either, bike is in storage till this weekend. This is literally just across 75 from me. I'm glad I got home before the street got shut down :-/ I hope he/she lives.
  16. That's the wrong attitude. A dealership being retarded is no reason to swear off a brand. No timing chain and tune-up would ever cost 2 grand, and for you to agree to such a thing is stupidity on your part. I've been through 2 VWs in 21 years and they have always treated me well. However, I never use a dealership to service my vehicles either. The local mechanic has the same tools and does much better work. GG on being a gullible sap who'll pay 2 grand for a timing chain also - sorry for the thread dump. I hope you (OP) get due justice against that craptastic dealership!

    Skyline Fan?

It isn't chili. It is meat-pudding.
  18. My dad has been on an ammunition buying binge for nearly 3 months. I know he's not alone. Many people in the gun rights and hunting communities foresee the next path to gun control will be through heavy taxation on ammunition. We/they just want to be stocked up before that happens
  19. I'm new on this forum, but I'll try to make it out with some of my buds once they actually open. When I lived in Akron we'd always ride up to Cleveland so it'll be nice to do that again!
  20. Would buy if I had the liquid assets GL with sale
  21. it may appear to be semiauto but it isnt, the forestock is hollow and slides over the feeder area when you pump...
