  2. No flak from me, you're right. No policy will satisfy 100%. Rape isn't covered by education. I think this is a scholarly article... worthy of debate. read the whole thing on your own if you want. Heres the syn: Context: Current debates on how to reduce the high U.S. abortion rate often fail to take into account the role of unintended pregnancy, an important determinant of abortion. Methods: Data from the 1982, 1988 and 1995 cycles of the National Survey of Family Growth, supplemented by data from other sources, are used to estimate 1994 rates and percentages of unintended birth and pregnancy and the proportion of women who have experienced an unintended birth, an abortion or both. In addition, estimates are made of the proportion of women who will have had an abortion by age 45. Results: Excluding miscarriages, 49% of the pregnancies concluding in 1994 were unintended; 54% of these ended in abortion. Forty-eight percent of women aged 15-44 in 1994 had had at least one unplanned pregnancy sometime in their lives; 28% had had one or more unplanned births, 30% had had one or more abortions and 11% had had both. At 1994 rates, women can expect to have 1.42 unintended pregnancies by the time they are 45, and at 1992 rates, 43% of women will have had an abortion. Between 1987 and 1994, the unintended pregnancy rate declined by 16%, from 54 to 45 per 1,000 women of reproductive age. The proportion of unplanned pregnancies that ended in abortion increased among women aged 20 and older, but decreased among teenagers, who are now more likely than older women to continue their unplanned pregnancies. The unintended pregnancy rate was highest among women who were aged 18-24, unmarried, low-income, black or Hispanic. Conclusion: Rates of unintended pregnancy have declined, probably as a result of higher contraceptive prevalence and use of more effective methods. Efforts to achieve further decreases should focus on reducing risky behavior, promoting the use of effective contraceptive methods and improving the effectiveness with which all methods are used. 3. We're past this, welcome to days ago.
  4. I'll avoid saying I like the idea of abortion. But I agree with you redkow - I'd much rather pay twice as much to educate youngsters about how to have safe sex than to pay for supporting single mothers (not that that's the real cost...) Why are we so prude about giving kids the proper information? I know I like sex... why can't they? My parents said one thing: Don't get her pregnant, or don't come to us for help. Well, given those options I chose the former. Better education promotes a better society. Period.
  5. Or if you were in Cinci I work for beer
  6. Time for the winter project to get underway! Picked up this 96 B6 yesterday to fix up for next year. Paint is old and starting to chip/peel. Need to put a can on it (in process of chopping and painting the can I got from gixxie) Wheels need stripped and painted too, it's chipped around the edge.... though I may wait till I replace the rubber to do that. Will pull carbs and give em a thorough cleaning and soak. Oil certainly needs a change and filter (got both with the bike). Bikini fairing is being ditched. I'll be looking for either a large shiny UJM looking headlight (7-9") or a couple smaller (4-6") to mount up. Not sure if I'll do bar end mirrors or stock naked bandit ones (since the mountings are there). Suggestions for colors? I was thinking satin graphite and white or tricolor black/gray/white.
  7. "RPM feedback" - It's alternator whine and it's caused by insufficient filtering or a ground fault,. not which head unit you're using
  8. Sounds like your jetta was treating you as well as your treated it :/ no offense. Glad you're back on the road!
  9. heh.... well on another note the UC v USF game was interesting. Winning with backups due to injury ^.^
  10. Troll successful : someone finally gets it
  11. I was rear ended jackass, the bike is trash. Perhaps you should learn to type/speak. All I hear is blah blah redneck/hick/ignorant speak blah blah.
  12. I lied. one more set of links for him http://soundsolutionsaudio.com/ current forum boner: http://ikesound.com/precision_power_355cs or http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17121_Precision+Power+PPI+356CS.html?utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=froogle 5.25 v 6.5
  13. :violin:It's sorta funny how much you're taking this to heart. It's not my fault you install inferior products and are satisfied with them. Everyone has a different expectation for the quality of music reproduction. Mine is high, and I would rather steer him into making mature, rational choices that result in a proper sounding 'stereo' than allow him to sink money into chrome basket flame queer audiobahn garbage. I guess I'll leave it to the OP to pm me if he wants to take it seriously. I'll let the rest of you to your own devices.
  14. pending trans for the r1 exhaust from gixxie. thanks for the offers I'll keep you updated
  15. Auto high idle from the FI system? eh?
  16. Just because something has been around for a long time doesn't mean it's a good thing.... jensen, pyramid, Catholicism... Would you recommend someone go buy a Hyosung motorcycle? probably not (despite the fact they make a... drumroll... somewhat affordable bike)
  17. a bit out of the way to get to you (wooster) but if nothing else comes up I'll pm you an offer
  18. Looking for a cheap exhaust can, not sure of the pipe size atm but not really a concern. A stock can you don't need from a 600-1000cc bike would be appropriate. Let me know what you have and how much you want. Can pick up anywhere between cinci to akron on I-71/US30
  19. no. And you are all very misguided in the field of consumer electronics. Don't touch american bass. dont touch soundstorm. dont touch any of that shit. "you have to snag the output before the factory amp" oh my god you don't even know what signal levels and impedance to match from the stock system. You are not going to get favorable results. Please go educate yourself on the forums I linked earlier, or have someone else do your legwork and installation. preferably someone who knows what the frack theyre doing.
  20. When I rode it it felt better balanced than the ex by leaps and bounds, I had no trouble whipping it around. wide bars may help that ^.^
  21. As some of you may remember I posted about being rear-ended earlier this year. Well I was able to fix it and keep riding. I still am actually. Wool long underwear ftmfw!. ... well anyway. I'm thinking of picking up a 96 bandit 600 that's in decent shape, but needs a few things like an oil change/filter, exhaust repack, and probably new plugs and a tune up (carb clean and sync). Anyone have any experience with em? I already rode this one and despite being a rough runner and having effectively no exhaust... it tracked well and I wasn't afraid to take it to speed. No wobbles etc. Any Advice is appreciated.
