Awesome mess. LBTS
-
Stuck an actual pry bar in the corner and tapped it in and it popped right off.. Didn't even have to pry.. Wasted several hours because I was too cheap to just buy a pry bar lol
-
I just ride all year and change oil every 5k
-
The intake is still on... This head actually gets removed with intake and exhaust manifolds still attached... I disconnected exhaust already before I read alldata and the Saturn forums and realized it wasn't necessary I am positive I didn't miss any bolts Talked to someone who did one and said he had same problem with same motor and had to hammer a chisel in it.. Really didn't want to do that but I guess I'll try it and just be careful
-
Yes. That's why I re checked it 10 times... There's only so many places to look for head bolts on a 4 cylinder.... The car has 10 head bolts and I removed 10...I'd show you a picture but I'm already home
-
There's water in cylinder 4... This motor is a complete nasty mess... Sludge everywhere from the coolant oil milkshake No other head bolts... Alldata confirmed No hoist .. If I had one I'd put engine mount back on and hoist the head off letting weight of the car do the work lol I was using screwdriver with a cheater bar and it will lift the whole engine... Will using something more stiff make a difference? I thought I was at maximum prying force once the engine lifts up I think I'll try the block of wood and hammer though Won't have time again until Tuesday... So all suggestions until then are appreciated
-
no just gasket replace....budget repairs just re-read alldata instructions and i made sure i hit every step....i dont know what is going on....its like its just stuck on there....i can lift the whole engine by the head and the weight of the engine wont even pop it out of the dowels
-
its a 97 saturn sc1....1.9L i think? 1.8 maybe...idk and i wasnt prying on a mating surface, just a casting mark
-
ive been over it over and over again....theres no bolts holding it....it just wont come off the dowels...theres 10 head bolts and all 10 are removed
-
anyone have any advice or tips for separating a cylinder head from the block? its a sohc engine, so using compression to blow it off wont work all the bolts are out (triple checked, and im following alldata step by step)....i tried prying on the point they mentioned in the manual and that i saw people on youtube doing and its just dead stuck to the head....even snapped a screw driver i put some accessory bolts back in and lifted on them with all my strength and i actually started to lift the entire motor and the head still wont separate tried beating on it with a rubber mallet...nothing is there a trick to this? http://s286.photobucket.com/albums/ll112/tbutera2112/?action=view¤t=20121216_180915.mp4

lol treedog is awesome.....and this dog actually came from a guy steph knows, and hes a customer i deliver parts to...so ive been around this dog before and always wanted to take him....so once i heard they were looking to rehome him, i jumped on it one more pic, just because! lol...ill pick up a dog bed for him soon...steph is terrified of pits because one attacked her dog when she was little...so she says were on a trial run for a week to see if she can live with him or not....so i dont wanna buy a dog bed yet (i dont intend on giving him back, but dont want to rub it in to her by buying a bunch of stuff before the "trial" period ends lol)

i can top this....i got a $35 parking ticket on OU campus for parking my bike in a regular parking spot got a letter to come to orientation. it had a map that said park in this parking lot, and go to this building. so i did. that particular lot didnt have specified motorcycle parking, so i parked in the very back corner away from all the cars and traffic. got a ticket for parking in a non-motorcycle specific parking space....parking in the lot they told me to park in, which did not even offer bike parking... refused to pay it, they turned it into the county and it became an official "pay this or you lose your license" ticket. fuck you athens PD.

yesterday while walking my dog, we were charged at by a very roided out boxer (wtf it was a mutant) dragging a little kid behind it like in a movie (on his belly, both hands on the leash, along for the ride) my dog was very calm and listened when i pulled him away, once the boxer was within kicking distance, i kicked it in the head with my steel toes which gave the kid long enough to semi-gain control over it so i could leave the situation never once did the thought of "wish i had my gun so i could shoot this thing" cross my mind.....i think i will be picking up pepper spray though, the stream kind, just in case.....my dog would have fucked that boxer up if he wasnt so well tempered, and i know i would have gotten in major trouble because hes a pit, even though we were the ones being attacked sounds like magley got bit once and is terrified....like a kid at school who gets his lunch money taken by a black kid and becomes an avid kkk member afterwards because oh theyre all so evil since one kid did something if i shot every dog or person that ever puffed their chest at me, i wouldnt be free or alive very long i love how were all living our lives in fear because we feel the need to carry guns, yet somehow magley sees no problem living in fear of every dog to the extent he wants to shoot them good thing guns arent banned, huh magz? if they were, we would all be eaten alive by viscous animals.

Thanks! Hanging out around treedog at the shack made me get the urge to get another dog... Mine passed a couple years back
-
I adopted him from a place that wasn't awful but not great... He got neglected a lot and bullied by the large male they had... They took decent care of him though and he had a huge yard to roam... I'm sure he will be happier here, but I'm sure he's gonna miss his old home too for awhile
-
Thanks everyone... He's adjusting well to apartment life so far... Trying to get him out for walks whenever I can to help exercise him I'm not an expert on any dogs... But isn't he kinda small to have mastiff in him? You would know better than me, just curious
-
lol i have a dog and 4 reptiles...its not that bad! .....realy would like to get rid of 2 of the reptiles, but steph is too attached to them
-
is it bad if they check up? i picked up a dog last night and need to register him...but, being a pit, im not sure if i would want someone "checking in" on him ...god forbid some hippie passes a dumb anti pit law and they try to take them all away
-
adopted a 1yr old male pit last night....they said hes pure pit, and had his sister too...im not sure what kind...the other male they had looks like an amstaff, so im assuming thats what he is...but im not sure hes fixed, potty trained, has his shots....knows to not get on the furniture, never bit anyone....hes a huge baby....i had to wrestle him into my shower to bathe him and he never got angry even once (he just gave me this pitiful face and tried to lay down so he didnt have to go lol) such an awesome dog, he even does good with other dogs and kids....doesnt even bark at other dogs when hes out for a walk, and he ignores them with a slight tug on his leash (and hes never even been on a leash before)....couldnt ask for one with a better temperament. and hes a looker too.....very deep red, the camera flash washes it out though...you can kinda tell in first pic

Bike went in the shop yesterday for transformation
Steve Butters replied to conn-e-rot's topic in Daily Ride
Cool.. Interested to see the results. Congrats on the free customization! -
He was about to file bankruptcy and didn't want them to take it from him. 5k on a bike plus 300 a month on smoking and energy drinks and he's talking about bankruptcy.... Priorities need some adjusting

Couple of those bikes look like they will bottom out on every tiny bump in the road... Hell the dark color one looks like it would by just sitting on it
