  1. low range it chugs along ok...WOT it runs like a champ....half-3/4 throttle is a little lumpy in the midrange....is that how these are supposed to be? or should i mess with the air screw and/or jets? PO said he rejetted it a few days prior - so im thinking the air screw may need adjusted or something but i dont know much about 2 strokes
  2. the cruisers probably hit 130 is what they meant..... if the guy had a huge head start or something the cruisers would have to speed to catch up to it...theres no way that car on the flatbed broke 100
  3. "back in my day" i used to be "that guy" lol...except, i would pull over and let the truck pass, then immediately start rolling again and pretty much just tail gate the truck (with reasonable stopping distance) and pass everybody on the road....oh how great it was to be 17...i feel so old
  4. sounds like a cool project to get some father-son time with your dad....enjoy it man
  5. the brakes on this bike work great!....havent been on a bike in so long ive gotten a bad habit of only using the front brake (like i did on my grizzly)...trying to break that habit also and i usually always wear gear off road...ive wrecked too many times lol....i need to pick up some dirt pants - i dropped my yz250f on myself in some thick mud and kinda sank down in it and i couldnt get up - ponyjr had to pick the bike up off me...woulda got a nasty burn if it wasnt for my gear...saved my noggin a few times too lol
  6. i think tomorrow maybe ill take it over to the small sections of dirt in my neighborhood when i have some gear on and give it a little more of an effort....i took it around the block in shorts, sleeveless shirt, and no helmet...makes me more nervous and cautious riding like that
  7. picked up a yz250...took it around the block and it scared the shit out of me! i will definitely need to practice on it....granted, i havent even been on a bike in a year now, and ive never ridden a 2 stroke (my last dirt bike was in 07 and it was a 250f).... going to ride it around the neighborhood for awhile before i dare take it off road anywhere lol its not what i expected at all...it red lines after like 3 seconds of throttle and in 1st and 2nd at 3/4 throttle it pulls up the front lol...just trying to take it easy and keep two wheels on the ground for awhile i have a feeling ill wear out the clutch kinda quick trying to learn how to ride this thing.... it was kinda... WOT 1-2-3 then clutch and brake for awhile lol....then feathered the clutch around corners or held it in completely...rode it like a total noob lol rear suspension is adjusted all the way down - PO was short...need to raise it back up
  8. i handled a USP 40 at buckeye this weekend....if youre looking for a large gun, it definitely fits the bill...i wear XL-2XL gloves and it felt borderline too big for my hands....then again, maybe im weird because my subcompact .40 feels absolutely perfect lol....only gun ive held that feels nicer is a 5" 1911, but theyre real thin to help make up for the size
  9. i think dos santos will down velasquez
  10. usually dont like older bikes like that...but thats a sweet bike! lol
  11. ended up finding it on MMA-TV's sopcast channel....same place i watched it last time....thought it woulda got caught since the last time but i guess not lol...guess ill start checking there first all of the streaming websites all seemed like scams/spam/viruses whatever....i prefer sopcast thanks guys!! the fight didnt go how i expected at all....i thought carwin was going to dominate but he got smashed
  12. i dont get invited to these things. having a graduation party here tonight though anyways, maybe watching the fight
  13. anybody? may not be any posted for another hour, but i thought ide start looking now so i can get the computer setup to the tv and stuff
  14. more truths. /threadforreal
  15. discuss? everything truth has already been said... /thread
  16. the only springfield i can find in my budget is a cheap standard GI model....the taurus comes with so many more upgraded parts than the springfield and only $100 more....if i could afford a nice springfield i would, but with my budget the pt1911 looks like the best one i can get....might hold out until i can afford something nicer though, not sure
  17. at a track requiring her fathers signature - im assuming they also required full gear....the only thing i can think of is she didnt have a neck brace and coulda came down wrong on her neck either way its tragic.... RIP future rider **edit - jrmmiii beat me to it
  18. i almost bought a taurus pt1911 today....so hard to resist lol... i have an itching for a 1911 after handling a few today
  19. glad youre ok! you woulda got jacked up without the gear....good thing youre not the typical HD rider lol also, i wouldnt bet on anything being replaced on the bike...if you intend to get another one, ide start stripping any aftermarket parts off of it that you can that are still good and able to be used on the next one......frame damage is almost always a totaled bike....i saw a bike get totaled for a couple tiny scratches on the frame, way less than what you got there
  20. this sounds like a horrible idea.....grabbing onto the left side of the bike only? so basically, if it even thinks of tipping right, its going over? i would not load a bike like that.....to each their own, but maybe you should investigate other methods also... both hands on handle bars is the only way ide load one...whether im clutching it into the bed or physically pushing it
  21. fixed that for you noob.
  22. glad i got my point across.
  23. sounds like a good deal to me
