  1. agreed. my next bike very might well be stretched....i want a drag bike that i can cruise around on the street with or ride to the track and home why do you guys care what someones bike looks like? sure you can make fun thats your opinion - but outlaw it because it isnt your personal taste? if that was the case every bike would be outlawed except yamahas if i was in charge oh....and lifted trucks are awesome
  2. he asks about which bike to get, you post about new zx10 in the same thread, i mentioned that bmw>zx10, and now your panties are in a bunch? umadbro?
  3. i doubt hes wanting to go drop 15-20k on a brand new bike if insurance cost was an issue for him....and if he was, the s1000rr > zx10r
  4. whild old cars might "seem" safe because theyre big heavy tanks - they crumble....theres a video of a new malibu vs an old malibu in crash test rating and its nuts
  5. all of that besides the tv stuff and stores being closed on sunday...and im not even that old if stuff has really changed that much in 20 years - i would hate to grow up today lol
  6. someone posted a new zx10 video and it was almost competing with the bmw at the strip...but weak ass clutch - fried it in a few passes
  7. i completely understand your point and i know how you feel - ive been in the EXACT situation before (with a different painter) wasnt trying to cut you down - i was just saying that i think both parties could have handled it a little bit better and nothing bugs me more than someone saying they will call me and then never getting a call....i hate that shit
  8. air shifter takes the fun away from a street bike
  9. I just think its hard to do business with people who are too afraid to give you feedback on your work before posting up that it was poorly done. If we pour a concrete patio for somebody and they cut me a check at the end and say "thanks, it looks good"....then i get home and see a post of them bashing my company - i would get irritated. (from a business stand point - i would never tell somebody to "get fucked"...but i would be irritated) if they said "hey, this looks like shit and i dont feel its worth what you charged me" then we would redo it if there was a valid reason to (waves, cracks, whatever)......not giving a business a chance to make things right before posting up a shitty review is just kind of a low blow yes, paul couldnt go back in time and redo everything - but if ryan woulda expressed his concerns, maybe paul would have realized that maybe he messed up "Hey Ryan, I'm sorry that i kept messing up your schedule and took a little longer than i expected to get you your parts. It's been real busy and I got overbooked." that along with not charging him for the work (like you mentioned) would have been more than enough to make it right in my book....no company is perfect all the time, but if a customer isnt happy with the work then they need to say something instead of jumping straight to bashing
  10. honestly, for what youre describing, a busa sounds like your best bet..... if you get into older bikes like the kzs and stuff - you have to chop them to shit to make them fast and then they kind of become "drag only" i saw a full blown drag bike at trails that ran like 8.40s...it was an old kz or something like that.... had to fill it up after every pass, not streetable at all, lift off body, etc etc etc.....but a stretched bmw with bolt ons and tune runs that same time and still gets 40-50mpg....you just cant beat new technology a new 1k or a new busa will be your best bet - with favor on the busa obviously because it already has a head start that being said - if i went out tomorrow to build a drag bike, it would be an R1
  11. yea if the clunking is getting harder then, it could possibly be clutch related...like IP said, an adjustment might need to be made or else it might be time for a clutch.... 34k is a good run on a stock clutch though anyways
  12. face to face would have given paul the opportunity to make it right, instead of thinking things were fine and then coming home to see a bashing thread im not saying hoblick shouldnt have posted his experience, but i think he should have sacked up and mentioned his dissatisfaction with paul to his face when he picked up the parts
  13. actually - i meant that he might just refuse doing business with OR members with the way this thread is going...i was under the impression he does a lot of commercial work and just did this work for all of us on the side....i dont know how he operates though...just know from personal experience that he is a good dude and has done great work for me in the past im not taking anybodys side because if i was in hoblicks spot i would be just as pissed off - but i see why paul is angry too because hoblick said in his post that he didnt say anything to him in person but then he comes here and posts up bad stuff perhaps if he had mentioned all of his issues with paul when he picked up the rest of his parts, maybe paul would have apologized and tried to make stuff right....but picking the stuff up and not saying anything, then coming home and posting a negative review kinda seems like a cowardly move and i see why paul reacted the way he did to it overall sounds like a bad situation, no matter whose side you were on however, this thread would not prevent me from doing business with paul
  14. every bike ive ridden has clunked slightly from N to first, dirt and street....even cars do this
  15. damn, after this thread paul isnt going to wanna do work for anybody on here anymore.....he did good work for me, and was very easy to work with....guy has a bad time with one customer and he gets crucified....ouch i understand where his txt came from, ide be irritated too if i did work for someone and they picked it up and didnt say anything bad and then go home and post publically a bad experience without even mentioning it to me face to face when picking the stuff up
  16. nope...i saw them and wanted to stop and look but there was a rep sitting there on a stool all day trying to sell them, and i didnt wanna be harassed, so i looked from afar
  17. yes. she purchased it, and in one month when im legal age shes going to sell it to me for the same price she paid for it. cash is already sitting in the safe for it. like i said - i checked all the legalities of it beforehand because my mom is very "by the book"....only purchased early because i found a great deal on it on armslist and wanted to jump on it
  18. way too tight if she could make out an imprint of your penis since she noticed, did ya ask for a little slap and tickle?
  19. They also can't sell long guns to people under 18. So you're saying its illegal for a parent to buy a shotgun for their kid to take hunting? If its illegal for a person under 18 to use a firearm, why do they make kid sized 22s and 410s? And it was bought private party - and the seller verified the legality of the situation with an FFL dealer, and i checked with a sheriff on the legality aswell and both sources said it was legal as long as she was the one who purchased it, and it stayed in her possession until i was 21 and that only she is allowed to transport it and store it. It is her gun until I am 21 then it can be turned over to me. Nothing illegal about it. Straight from the ATF website
  20. yep - sadly, in ohio its legal to do 45 in the left lane since thats the minimum speed limit for freeways here.....i believe in NJ its illegal, someone copy-pasted the law in the comments
  21. i paid for it - my legal guardian (mom) purchased it....nothing busted about anything. my dad is dead. (checked with a sheriff before doing the transaction - no different than a parent buying their kid a gun for hunting - i just cant leave the house with it without an adult transporting it - which i have not)
