  1. Unfortunately, when Al Gore was designing the internet he failed to come up with an adequate way to convey sarcasm, therefore we all must suffer.
  2. Eh, different strokes for different folks. If you think that by purchasing a Mini I lost my manhood then that's fine by me. I like the car, it's quick (not fast), fun to drive, and has a lot of nifty little features to keep me entertained. Also, I was able to average about 34-36 mpg on my way home from Cleveland. Since a large majority of the mileage accrued will be highway miles, I'm happy with it's performance.
  3. Nope, manhood is still intact. My pride took a hit though, it was my first accident so I was a little shook up about the fact that I just totaled my car.
  4. Thank you, I appreciate the kind words! I'm extremely happy with the new car, even though I didn't really want to spend the money. Once I get myself situated I might buy another g20 later on down the road and build it into a race wehicle. But for now, this'll do. Awesome, thank you for pointing me to that Mini forum. After reading up on the cars I was sold! Unfortunately I don't think the lady that owned it ever hand cleaned the car so the wheels need some TLC. I was thinking about taking it in to wheel medic and seeing if they can, blast 'em, fix the curbing on one of them, and maybe powdercoat. First I need to get my budget adjusted for the new expense, so I know exactly where I'm at before I make any poor decisions.
  5. Alright guy's, last week I was enjoying a beautiful day down on campus in my pride and joy, a 1993.5 Infiniti G20 that I was building to be a weekend race car. I had just completed putting in a brand new alternator 2 days before and this was the first time taking it beyond the block. I also just got my big brake kit switched over from my other g20. All of the sudden, from the right hand side I saw a Chevy Tahoe flying down the alleyway. He completely blew the stop sign going about 35 mph. I had maybe 10 feet to stop, which didn't happen. I slammed into him going about 25 mph which totaled my car, ruining all of of the European parts I had spent years searching for. Anyways, the car was a complete loss, I ended up getting screwed on my wheels, bumper, lights, grill, and brakes. This was my first accident ever, and it had to be in my baby with all the expensive parts on it and not my daily grinder Subaru. Since I am graduating from college I wanted a car that I didn't have to worry about and would let me concentrate on starting my career as a turf specialist as well as starting up my photography business. After test driving numerous cars I decided to try out the Mini at a local dealership. Up until then I had only been look at sports sedan's but I had always loved the styling of the Mini Cooper, so I gave it a shot. I took it for a spin and immediately fell in love. That particular model was not in the best of shape, but I was hooked and searching all over for some cars. Saturday night I stumbled upon a car owned by a lady in Cleveland. It had the Sports and Cold weather packages and only had 17,000 miles on it. It turns out the only reason her and her husband were selling the car was because the baby seat wouldn't fit in the backseat. I immediately jumped on the opportunity and cut a check shortly after my test drive. Now I am the proud new owner (as of Sunday) of an 06 Mini Cooper S with the 6-speed. I had an hour to spare after my class last night so I grabbed the camera equipment for an inaugural shoot. YAY! 1 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/06%20Mini%20Cooper%20S/IMG_8545copy.jpg 2 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/06%20Mini%20Cooper%20S/IMG_8552copy.jpg 3 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/06%20Mini%20Cooper%20S/IMG_8566copy.jpg 4 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/06%20Mini%20Cooper%20S/IMG_8572copy.jpg The plans are... well there aren't any plans. If any mods happen in the future it will definitely be some springs, shocks, and a couople bars. Later down the road I would like to install an LSD, I/H/E and then think about upping the boost. The time frame is a matter of years, certainly not months. And for the sake of the thread, here are two pictures of my car I took last Friday before she died. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/93%20White%20G20/IMG_6056copy.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/93%20White%20G20/IMG_7747copy.jpg And the aftermath http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/93%20White%20G20/IMG00022.jpg Thanks for reading!
  6. Yea, how big do you want it? I have a friend that works for an architecture firm so he has access to a large pro printer. I'd have to talk to him about cost though since we haven't set this up yet it was just something we've been talking about in the last week or so.
  7. I'm actually graduating (finally) in June then moving down to Cincy. Good to hear from you Alex, looks like you've got quite the car now.
  8. The action is pretty bad, I was told it could be fixed by someone but I am not an expert on the subject so that could be completely false. What's a setup? HAHA
  9. Alright, I haven't played this thing in forever so it's time to just get rid of it. I lost the nut for the pickup so that swings about in there, also the strings sit pretty far from the neck as you can see in the pictures. It will come with a case, a stand, and anything else I can find. All yours for $125, a quick google search shows them retailing in the 280's so save some cash and help me clean out my apartment so I don't have to move so much stuff! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/Misc%20Stuff/stuff%204%20sale/IMG_8326.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/Misc%20Stuff/stuff%204%20sale/IMG_8330.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/Misc%20Stuff/stuff%204%20sale/IMG_8340.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/Misc%20Stuff/stuff%204%20sale/IMG_8344.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/Misc%20Stuff/stuff%204%20sale/IMG_8345.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/Misc%20Stuff/stuff%204%20sale/IMG_8347.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/Misc%20Stuff/stuff%204%20sale/IMG_8350.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/Misc%20Stuff/stuff%204%20sale/IMG_8355.jpg
  10. Thanks! There aren't too many examples of my car around town or in Ohio for that matter, so I feel like the ambassador of G20's and try to keep it as clean as possible!
  11. Man, yesterday was a photography filled day! It started with me waking up to the sound of cars squealing tires. So that got me all motivated to go outside and enjoy the better than predicted day by watching some AutoX in the Ackerman parking lot. More on that later. Later on in the afternoon I met up with someone to take pictures of her car and show her some of the spots I like around campus area. Unfortunately, the wind was blowin' rather hard and my 5lbs bag of cracked corn was no match and it blew over one of my stands breaking my 580ex (of course the expensive one). But we'll look at the bright side, I might buy two 430exs and some pocket wizards instead. So anyways enough of me talking, on with the pictures. 1 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/Ashley%20Impreza/IMG_8220copy_1.jpg 2 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/Ashley%20Impreza/IMG_8254copy.jpg 3 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/Ashley%20Impreza/IMG_8265copy_1.jpg 4 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/Ashley%20Impreza/IMG_8285copy_1.jpg 5 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/Ashley%20Impreza/IMG_8297copy.jpg 6 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/Ashley%20Impreza/IMG_8312copy_1.jpg Thanks for lookin'
  12. I finally got my car running after some extended downtime. I put on my Wilwood 12" brake kit as well as the front suspension for my old g20. So I went out and snapped some pictures. Then, on my way home my alternator took a crap. I knew it was on it's way out, so I went to Autozone and got a "new" one. Well that new replacement was bad, which had me searching around for the problem since I thought I could rule out that the new alternator would be bad. Anyways, that took a while since I've been busy lately and in the meantime I got some new photography equipment so I wanted to play around last night 3-6 are the results. Hope you guys like 'em! 1 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/93%20White%20G20/IMG_6028copy.jpg 2 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/93%20White%20G20/IMG_6056copy.jpg 3 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/93%20White%20G20/IMG_6087copy.jpg 4 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/93%20White%20G20/IMG_7710copy.jpg 5 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/93%20White%20G20/IMG_7725copy.jpg 6 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/93%20White%20G20/IMG_7747copy.jpg Thanks for looking!
  13. Didn't know she was 8, must have overlooked that. Well then, all of my advice is pretty much useless now. I agree with the point and shoot approach, but I still maintain the digital perspective down the road, if cost is still a factor then.
  14. Yea a 35mm would be a lower initial cost, but add in the film, developing, etc and it adds up quickly. Digital is the way to go in that respect. It is also better for learning, with digital she can shoot and then look at her picture, and if she changes a setting she will immediately be able to see the effects of that change instead of waiting for the roll to get used up and then developed.
  15. I agree, tighter crop and I'd stop down a notch or two to get the leaves much darker. Also if you stick that camera all up in there you could probably get an angle so that you get the flowers and not the house in the BG. As far as encouraging her new found interest, it wouldn't hurt to buy an old used SLR for her to start playing around. That way if she doesn't pursue it, you don't loose so much money on the investment.
  16. No, I don't do weird piercings especially the upper lip. Why people think that is attractive is beyond me.
  17. Yea, I'll be taking pictures of it on Monday. I'll make sure to get some of the cluster and such.
  18. haha, nice brake vents! Oh wait.
  19. I'm posting this for my brother, copy and paste. For serious buyers contact me and I will give you his email address or phone number. I will also be taking pictures of it either this weekend or next so keep an eye out for that.
  20. Not to mention their loyalty. I have a 3 year old Aussie that I rescued, I've never had such a loyal dog in my life. Everywhere I go he is off leash and will drop whatever it is he's doing and come to my side if need be. It doesn't matter what, if he chases after a squirrel he stops, if he's all the way on the other side of the field and I whistle he will sprint to my side. It's crazy. They are also crazy intelligent but in Sherman's case I think he has ADD. I wish I could keep him interested in a frisbee for more than 5 minutes, after that he'll chase it until it falls to the ground and then run back to me. What a jerk. And since we are all posting up pictures of our trusty dags, here's mine! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/Misc%20Stuff/Sherman/CRW_3838.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/Misc%20Stuff/Sherman/IMG_5625copy.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/Sco0terzsl/Misc%20Stuff/Sherman/IMG_5597copy.jpg
  21. You were the black STi? I'm pretty sure I got two of yours. I almost got some awesome long exposure shots but my quads were starting to kill me and I couldn't keep the camera stead enough. Woulda looked like you were going 50mph pulling up to the water box, haha. You AWD guy's were difficult to get some action type shots since you don't require burnouts, so I was trying some different things. If I had my monopod with me I probably could've pulled it off. Let me see exactly how many I have of yours and I'll pm them to you later tonight. I was also thinking about setting up my flashes right there by the box, but I figured I would probably get yelled at. Since I am a new guy I don't want to be stepping on anyone's toes.
  22. Bummer, I'm shooting a wedding on Saturday! Hopefully the weather is nice for you guys.
  23. I got 3 of you launching, I have to admit it was quite entertaining to watch. PM sent
  24. Looks like I got 4 shots of your car. I'll pm you some proofs.
  25. I'm slowly learning that I missed a few people. I tried my best to get every car that ran in the right lane. Looks like I need to bring my 1gb card on top of the 4gb next time, so I don't have to run back and forth to my car.
