Well, on Thursday I took a quick trip up to Columbus to snap some pictures for someone. We are going to try and get some daylight shots sometime soon so keep an eye out for those. Well I gave the camera a good workout this past weekend. It started on Friday with a hot air balloon ride thanks to Alexi's brothers. It was a graduation/birthday/engagement gift for both of us. We found some scenic spots of the river off the beaten path so I decided to do some HDR's. We also found an old iron bridge that is now used for a branch off the bike path that leads to Lebanon. I see what you are saying. Unfortunately I have a tendency to shoot really wide when I get the wide angle on. I'm still in awe over the full frame goodness that the 5d has to offer. It was taken in a developing neighborhood a few miles away from Kings Island. It was nice because I'm pretty sure it was an old field so there weren't any tries or objects getting in the way. I assume you are wanting to know what the aperture was. I was shooting at f4 on that particular evening. Start shooting weddings and you'll "need" it. I like your idea though and would love to try it some time.

Yep, I bought this one from Midwest Photo on North High. It is slightly used but still looks brand new. I picked it up for a little over $300.

Well Cord Camera has had my 580ex for the past 3 months "fixing" it. I finally got it back a couple weeks ago but hadn't had an opportunity to play with all three flashes until last night. All I can say is that I am excited about the possibilities that have opened up. I'm using the 580ex tethered to the camera by a hotshoe cord and triggering the 430's which are off camera (obviously). A few weeks ago I picked up a new lens to add to my collection. It is a 100mm f2.8 Macro and I got it used for a pretty darn good deal. I haven't really had much time to play around with it since I've got a lot of editing to do with these weddings I've shot. This morning I went for a much needed drive to nowhere. I started out heading North along the Little Miami River on some fun winding roads. I ended up all the way past Ceasar Creek State Park. Along the way I found a covered bridge which I saved in my GPS to revisit early one morning since the traffic was rather heavy and I didn't feel like blocking the road. I also snapped a shot in some random dirt road. I don't know why I did it, but I did. Later on in the day I drove up to Oxford to scout out some locations for a wedding I will be shooting tomorrow. Needless to say I'm pretty pumped about it since the backdrops are spectacular. I've got a lot of ideas that I have written down, lets hope I can pull them off! It is great there. I love getting paddock passes so you can see everything up close and personal. I had an opportunity to go to a Grand Am event a couple years ago with the same kind of treatment. They know how to treat their guests.

Yes, I shoot a 5d and I'm a single body shooter for now. Thank you for the suggestion! I like to stick with Canon gear for the same reasons you stated so I will investigate the 100mm during the week. I figure if I get that and get my 580ex back from Cord Camera (they've had it for over 2 months now) I should be set for any situation in a wedding.

Do you have any suggestions for a good Macro lens? I want to pick one up after I shoot this wedding on Saturday. I'll be using it mainly for the ring shots, but would like to have some versatility. I haven't started to research it yet, I just figured I'd see if you had a suggestion to look at. Thanks!

I've got one and I still keep it in my bag next to the 70-200 2.8L and 16-35 2.8L. It is a really great lens and I recommend it to everyone that I talk to.
