  1. For the most part, when I go to the gun store, I already know what I need to, because I researched it in advance. Same for the electronics stores. When I was deciding on a pistol to buy, with concealment in mind, I just went to the gun store, already knowing what features I was looking for, and what pistols had those features. The first trip was just to get a feel for them, then the second trip was to pick up the XD SC.

Then the third trip will be to trade it for an M&P. ;)

  2. I have not seen any law that states it must be unloaded while being stored in your vehicle unattended.

I have a buddy that has one of the lock boxes bolted to his floor board. There's many options other than running the cable through your seat frame. Be creative.

Mine has a magazine disconnect. Depending on the situation, sometimes I will drop the magazine and store them separately. Even with a round in the chamber, it will not fire with the magazine removed. I figure at least f it is stolen, it cannot be used against someone immediately. I only lock it up if I can't carry somewhere. If I am in the car, it's on me or very easily accessible.

  3. So, another store where IF they ask if you need any help, the reply is "no, I think I've got it" while trying to hold back the part where you say I probably know more than you about this.

I was just in this Gander. Not to buy anything just to waste time. A guy was looking at long guns and an associate asked him if he needed help. The customer goes "well do you know anything about guns?" His reply was "a little bit" I laughed thinly about this thread. Lmao:)

  4. This forum is actually what made me get my handgun and ccw, just reading through some of the threads made me think about situations I never thought about before and really got me interested lol I grew up around guns and had a couple shotguns but no one I ever knew carried one, at least that I knew of. But after being on here a while I realized a lot of people do carry and for legitimate reasons.

    We're just all paranoid. :D

  5. Why do SOO many people come HERE to OhioRiders.net to discuss guns?? (Am I missing something?)

ORDN is a catch all. We talk about bikes, guns, politics, (sheep)sex, etc, etc. There is a wide variety of people one here and from my experience guns and bikes seem to kind of go hand in hand. Many of us get together for shoots and cookouts, not just going on rides.

If you get lost in gun threads, and want to learn more, just browse through the firearms section. There is a lot of good information there, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Most of the gun people on here are always willing to help you out and convert you to a "gun nut" :D
