  1. Here’s a look back at some of Obama’s quotes on gay marriage:

    1. “I favor legalizing same-sex marriages, and would fight efforts to prohibit such marriages,” while running in 1996 for Illinois state Senate, in a written response to a questionnaire from Chicago’s Outlines gay newspaper.

    2. “Undecided,” while running for re-election to state Senate in 1998, in response to an Outlines questionnaire asking, “Do you favor legalizing same-sex marriage?”

    3. “I am a fierce supporter of domestic-partnership and civil-union laws. I am not a supporter of gay marriage as it has been thrown about, primarily just as a strategic issue. I think that marriage, in the minds of a lot of voters, has a religious connotation. I know that’s true in the African-American community, for example. And if you asked people, ‘should gay and lesbian people have the same rights to transfer property, and visit hospitals, and et cetera,’ they would say, ‘absolutely.’ And then if you talk about, ‘should they get married?’, then suddenly…” - Feb. 2, 2004, while an Illinois state Senator, in an interview with Chicago gay newspaper, the Windy City Times.

    4. “I was reminded that it is my obligation not only as an elected official in a pluralistic society, but also as a Christian, to remain open to the possibility that my unwillingness to support gay marriage is misguided,” while a U.S. Senator, writing in his memoir in 2006, “The Audacity of Hope.”

    5. “The government has to treat all citizens equally. I am a strong supporter not of a weak version of civil unions, but of a strong version, in which the rights that are conferred at the federal level to persons who are part of the same-sex union are compatible. When it comes to federal rights, the over 1,100 rights that right now are not being given to same-sex couples, I think that’s unacceptable.” - Aug. 9, 2007, while running for president, at a Democratic primary debate sponsored by the HRC and the LOGO network.

    6. “I believe that marriage is the union between a man and a woman. Now, for me as a Christian — for me — for me as a Christian, it is also a sacred union. God’s in the mix.” - April 17, 2008, while running for president, defining marriage at the Saddleback Presidential Forum.

    7. “I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. I am not in favor of gay marriage. But when you start playing around with constitutions, just to prohibit somebody who cares about another person, it just seems to me that’s not what America’s about.” - Nov. 2, 2008, while running for president, in an interview with MTV.

    8. “I’ve called on Congress to repeal the so-called Defense of Marriage Act to help end discrimination to help end discrimination against same-sex couples in this country. Now, I want to add we have a duty to uphold existing law, but I believe we must do so in a way that does not exacerbate old divides. And fulfilling this duty in upholding the law in no way lessens my commitment to reversing this law. I’ve made that clear.” - June 29, 2009, as president, at an LGBT Pride Month reception.

    9. “I have been to this point unwilling to sign on to same-sex marriage primarily because of my understandings of the traditional definitions of marriage. But I also think you’re right that attitudes evolve, including mine.” - Oct. 27, 2010, as president, in an interview with a group of liberal bloggers.

    10. “Every single American — gay, straight, lesbian, bisexual, transgender — every single American deserves to be treated equally in the eyes of the law and in the eyes of our society. It’s a pretty simple proposition.” - Oct. 1, 2011, as president, speaking at the Human Rights Campaign annual national dinner.

    11. “I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married.” - May 9, 2012, as president, in an interview with Robin Roberts of ABC News.

So Obama is: for, undecided, against, unsure, for, against, against, for, against, for same sex marriage. Got it.

  2. Exarch, you really are a mature, respectful, upstanding person. Don't worry about the 80% of regular OR members that say otherwise. Obviously, they are all wrong. They all got together and decided to gang up on you and hurt your feelings. Forget them bro. ;)

  3. I have every right to carry a pistol and walk around over the Rine, do I not? Now if I do this I will surely end up shooting someone to save my life... Why the hell would I ever put myself in that situation?

If I am NOT again NOT home and my family/animals are NOT again NOT in the house and I drive up to my house and see a truck parked there and my door wide open(obvious burglary) should I go into the house? Fuck no, I'll just end up killing someone. Now just because I CAN protect my home, doesn't mean I should if no one is inside... I would let the cops deal with it.

This shows how big of an idiot you are. You need to reread the Castle Doctrine. No duty to retreat doesn't mean you can go inside to defend your home.

  4. He followed the mother fucker... He could of let shit go... Obviously he planned on using his gun, if he didn't he wouldn't of had the balls to stalk the other guy.

Obviously you weren't there and have no idea. Just because he had a gun you make assumption based on what you think he should be like.

  5. I had my first rifle at 7, I still fail to see your point? I don't want guns around my kids, that's my decision, not yours. I don't care how you raise your kids, but I'll raise mine how I see fit.

If your son decides to explode one of these days than your fucked. That is a risk your willing to take, good for you. I see no reason to put a gun within my sons grasp, even if it is locked up.

  6. The permit holder should have his gun on his person IMHO, or stored away with the magazines empty and ammo separated. They are responsible for securing that weapon, first and foremost. And don't ever put anything past what police may or may not do, that is a huge mistake and assumption. No matter what the officer "must in Ohio" be informed that a CHL holder is in the car with or without a weapon.

    ORC 2923.126

If a licensee is the driver or an occupant of a motor vehicle that is stopped as the result of a traffic stop or a stop for another law enforcement purpose and if the licensee is transporting or has a loaded handgun in the motor vehicle at that time, the licensee shall promptly inform any law enforcement officer who approaches the vehicle while stopped that the licensee has been issued a license or temporary emergency license to carry a concealed handgun and that the licensee currently possesses or has a loaded handgun

Nothing about having to notify if they are not armed. That being said chances are good that they will know if the registered owner has a CHL when they run your tag. It would benefit you to state that you have a CHL and are not currently carrying a loaded weapon. Some officers believe that a permit holder is required to notify armed or not. (a LEO can't know every law and mistakes happen) Notifying even if your not armed would probably be a good idea.

I know how car searches work, but for my friends that do smoke weed I make them empty their pockets, I refuse to let that shit in my car. They CAN impound your car over that shit and the driver CAN get in trouble, fuck that, not worth the risk. Now sure they can hide it, but if a friend is willing to out me at risk knowing how I feel then he is no friend of mine. I USED to smoke, but I grew up and have a family to think about now, no need to do illegal shit to put my family in jeopardy.

If you know how they work why would you doubt they would search the spare tire well????? And he may not be a good friend but that's after the fact and now your in trouble for transporting a loaded gun without a permit. Genius.

  7. I said I don't know the law, but that's how I transport it. I hope no one calls the cops on me

The magazine and the gun are separate and out of reach from everyone and eachother, but I also don't give the cops a reason to search my car and even if they did I'm sure they would not rummage through my full duffle bag and lift up the carpet in my trunk and look all the way behind and under the spare tire

Even if the permit holder is in the car?

when cars are searched, yes your bags and the spare tire well gets searched too. Anywhere and everywhere that is reasonable. all you need is the buddy that has some weed on him you don't know about to get your car searched.

  8. I don't listen to my wife, hell I bought my bike without telling her after she said no, she found out about it a week later when she went to my dads house

Guns and kids don't mix, if I didn't have kids I wouldn't think twice about keeping a gun in the house(not for self defense, but for pleasure)

I wouldn't joke about that... I had a friend die due to a similar situation, but the gun was in a nightstand(locked) and the weapon was loaded and on safe.

I have a 5 y/o daughter and have trained her and taken her to shoots. She knows about gun safety. No I don't bank on that, I still take proper safety precautions. kids that are not exposed to guns, grow up being curious about them. Then they do stupid stuff. I learned to shoot at a very early age. I never did something stupid with a gun because I wasn't curious and knew what they are capable of.

Sorry for your loss but a loaded gun randomly going off in a drawer, locked and not touched is slim to none. Maybe it was a cheap crappy gun. Maybe a freak of nature. You have more chance of winning the mega millions. By that logic you should never drive again because your car could spontaneously combust.

  9. I'm not anti gun, I'm pro safety, huge difference...

I choose not to bring guns into my home on my own free will, I have heard waaaaay too many horror stories. I however am anti-carry, which doesn't mean I'll never own a handgun, it just means I will never carry in public, obviously besides transporting and taking it to the range/friends house for the smartasses out there :)

I love playing with guns, never once said I didn't, I just don't think every tom, Dick, and sally should be toting around a gun if they don't respect it and don't know how to safely use it. And I PERSONALLY feel Zimmermann did not respect his gun, which is where my whole 'anti gun' personality came from.

Guns can save lifes, guns can take lives, but guns should only be used as a last resort. I do get people carry to protect themselves and their loved ones, but some people (like Zimmerman) go too far. Now if he had real grounds to kill Martin than so be it, but HE HIMSELF put himself in that situation. The whole thing could have been avoided.. People are too ballsey when they carry, if he didn't carry his pussy ass would of just left Martin alone.

Having a gun for some people is like having liquid courage for others. It only takes one person to fuck it up for everyone else and well Zimmermann fucked it up big time in my opinion...

    Pencils cause spelling errors too.

  10. I know, you mentioned you had your permit, I was just being a smartas

I make my buddies put their shit under my spare tire and their clip in my duffle bag. They always bitch about it, so we usually end up taking their car (and I end up saving on gas money  )

I don't know all the laws and I don't have a permit, I just make sure my ass is 100% covered since im the driver, I could care less if they drive down the road with the gun hanging out the window in their own car :dunno:

I'm sure you arn't the first and won't be the last person shit like this happens to. I make it a habit to know the rules/laws at my work and if a situation arises and I don't know the answer I call somebody who does. No need for people to be rude just because they don't know something, a question never killed anyone...

Like IP said, that's a loaded gun on the state of Ohio. A loaded magazine anywhere in the vehicle that will fit a handgun anywhere in the same vehicle is loaded. Also, if a loaded magazine will fit a long gun inside the vehicle, that is a loaded long gun and that's illegal even with a permit.

  11. I do not believe that open carry = deterrent in every scenario.

I do not believe that open carry is a better option than concealed in regards to improving your ability to defend yourself in a critical incident.

I too don't believe OC is a deterrent in every scenario. I've said it before, as well as in this thread, there are times to OC and there are times to CC. No one way is a full proof way of being 100% protected.

  12. Based on the experience that I would never walk out my door with a gun on me in plain sight. I would feel extraordinarily conspicuous, like I'm making myself a target or at least creating greater likelihood for confrontation, and putting myself and anyone around me at unnecessary risk.

Therefore when I carry I do it concealed, and I feel warm with comfort in knowing that I've got a defense option that no one knows about.

So you have zero experience and only base your opinions on what you think would happen, or what you think should happen. You're basing it on your emotions.
