  1. I've tossed that idea around. I was running a couple Raptor 74's striped until one of them failed, then I switched to a single Raptor 150 that I had barely used that I replaced the RAID with. I'd like a SSD in my laptop, as long as the power consumption is low enough, which I'm guessing it would be.
  2. Newegg FTW!!! Cases whatever, but lean towards Antec Power Supply Antec or Thermaltake Processor AMD, although I've been thinking of building an Intel system Hard drive WD, and Seagate, and I have a Hitachi or 2 around here, too RAM Crucial, Corsair and G.Skill Optical Lite-on or Samsung (aka TSST, or toshiba) Motherboard Biostar MSI ABIT ASUS depends on who makes something good at the time Video Card Nvidia, brand isn't ususally a big deal, unless a particular model is known for cooling issues or something For sound, I use integrated these days, unless it's for professional use, then something that's made for pro use. I have used all sorts of brands, all sorts of quality levels and the majority worked ok. My current desktop system still runs well, is about 2 1/2 or so years old, maybe 3, and for most of what I ever do, about the only thing I could use to improve it would be a current video card, since my 9800GT's are a bit outdated.
  3. I enjoyed the chapter previews, and sample chapter on your website! If I don't win, I will pick up a copy some time!

Careful Keith, he might fall over on you, THEN you're in trouble.
  5. Most of us did! It IS an awesome gesture for you to do that though!
  6. I installed my own, although Directed frowns on that. Viper alarms ARE out there on ebay, but I doubt you would get any warranty support should the need arise. This all reminds me that I need to finish installing mine, so that I can re-program the remot and use it again! Long story, but being a Chrysler, there are a few things that I didn't do when I put it in, and now the system is dead, until I do them.
  7. Had a similar case on an old PC running Win 95 at work! I threw a new heatsink/fan on it and all was well! Saved several thousand dollars to replace the biggest part of the system. Well, it IS your nature.
  8. Unless they completely quit, like mine did a few weeks ago. I also highly recommend building one. Although, prebuilt systems are much better than they were for a while.
  9. Looks like CCA doesn't have Viper anymore, only Best Buy which I wouldn't trust to install anything, and Cartronix, which I've never heard of.
  10. I highly recommend a Viper, or Clifford, both are made by Directed Electronics. I don't know for sure who sells them, and they don't sell them to be installed as a DIY. The shop I used to deal with was bought by Columbus Car Audio when the owners retired, and I don't have any personal experience with them.
  11. Welcome! What's with the screenname though? That lends to a classic Hon-duh...
  12. RFM=Wrong. Friend him on FB and see some of the hilarity that he spews there!
  13. You're too far away to bother anyway. I could go to my friend's game trader store and get it for cost, IF I really wanted it for a console. I wouldn't play it enough to be worth it, even at $20.

I think it's the same for most, if not all carriers. I've never gotten much of anywhere in-store. I'll usually get my phone upgrades at a store, but it's usually Best Buy, where they activate the phone for free, and sometimes a slightly better deal. When I'm due for my upgrade this time, I may try calling in to see what they'll do for me, being my 10th year with Sprint.
  15. $20? I haven't played any shooter games in a while. I have MW2 for the 360, but I just never quite "got" the controller, since I'm a old school PC gamer that played Doom (the first, even) with just the keyboard. We were getting together and setting up a network before LAN parties were popular! I remember using the old 10Base2 coax with terminators, and netware lite drivers!
  16. Only because they didn't have Engrish as an option, or you cheated. I got the western also. I'm going to gues that the Western result was because of saying tent and tint "almost the same", instead of "different." Or maybe it was the 3 or so weeks that I've been in California (non-consecutive?)

But, I think I proved on the poker run/sumo kill ride, that Sprint is better in some places. The most important thing is what works where you need it, THEN price. Here at the shop, Sprint used to be the only one that would work inside the metal building, but now the others have enough signal too, Mr. Rider...

That's still more than Sprint. I have the unlimited family plan 1500 minutes for $129, the second line is free, then each additional is $20 a month. I'm not being a sprint fanboy here, but their service works well for me, and the price is great. On top of it, we get my wife's employer discount, which is something like 18%. 3 lines, insurance on 2 of them, taxes and all is less than $150 a month.

A similar instance threw me over the line on one of the group rides I was on, I think it was on 60. There were 2 times this season I have been really close to losing it, that was one (consider it that I did, seeing that I crossed the line) and once on the way home from a ride, on a mundane road, headed out of town, I wasn't paying attention and almost bit the back of a CR-V that was stopping to make a left turn, waiting on opposing traffic to pass. Anything less than 100% of you attention to your riding can kill you in an instant.
  20. RIP DS lite... GLWS! Really though, you're not a total dummy, you should be ok with it. If not, target practice!
  21. So that I know what way is legal to kick your ass. I fixed it, btw...
  22. A friend that lives practically in my back yard (ok, more like 1/2 mile or so across the field) has an "experimental" aircraft. He said the rules are fairly lax on the aircraft itself. I'll try to remember to ask him about flight regs. I do know that he recently flew it about 600 miles away and back.
