I just finished listening (again) to a song that I mixed for a mixing contest. https://soundcloud.com/jporter12/oh-baby-gearfestpuremixcontest It's a blues-y rock song, all recorded at the same time, except the vocals were ran immediately after the rest was recorded, I'm guessing they did this to keep everything else out of the vocal mic. I downloaded all 8 tracks, and spent quite a few hours perfecting my mix. This was all done on the PC with Adobe Audition, the effects that come with it, and a few free plugins that I found that I really like. The contest is now closed, and they are working on deciding what mixes are worthy of a prize. I doubt that mine has a chance against close to 2000 other entries, but it was a fun challenge. This is something that I've been learning since November, so not even 8 months. All that I've done I have figured out on my own, or read about, or watched a youtube tutorial about.
