  1. I just finished listening (again) to a song that I mixed for a mixing contest. https://soundcloud.com/jporter12/oh-baby-gearfestpuremixcontest It's a blues-y rock song, all recorded at the same time, except the vocals were ran immediately after the rest was recorded, I'm guessing they did this to keep everything else out of the vocal mic. I downloaded all 8 tracks, and spent quite a few hours perfecting my mix. This was all done on the PC with Adobe Audition, the effects that come with it, and a few free plugins that I found that I really like. The contest is now closed, and they are working on deciding what mixes are worthy of a prize. I doubt that mine has a chance against close to 2000 other entries, but it was a fun challenge. This is something that I've been learning since November, so not even 8 months. All that I've done I have figured out on my own, or read about, or watched a youtube tutorial about.

  3. Yeah, about that... We're going to need you to not speak anymore. ( of course!)
  4. This evening, another rider lost his life in an incident just west of Utica on 62. From what I've been reading, the guy rear ended a semi truck that had no trailer attached at the time. Someone had posted some gruesome details. http://www.newarkadvocate.com/article/20130531/NEWS01/305310024/One-dead-motorcycle-crash-Ohio-62?odyssey=mod|breaking|text|Frontpage&sf13437442=1 RIP Rider, and prayers going out for the family and friends that have lost a loved one.
  5. Ah man. I'm not going to be there this month. My daughter's birthday party is that day.
  6. I always use a fan or 2 blowing out, causing a slight negative pressure to pull cool evening air in the rest of the windows. A piece of cardboard would help with what you are trying to accomplish, no matter how ghetto it looks, it's still cheaper than running the A/C! In my situation, the windows are pretty much all narrow enough to not need to add anything to the width. We use window A/C units, so I hold off as long as I can before starting them up!
  7. Since we're on the "Bitching about the new forum software" thread, I don't like that I can't just hit Alt+S to submit a post. I have to tab away from the editor then hit Alt+S. Is this something with Chrome, or is it the way IPBoard works?
  8. Yeah, I noticed that too, when I was working over that way!
  9. One thing that I didn't see on your list Casper, is the highlighting for certain regions in Rides and Events. Is that even possible with IPBoard?
  10. Oh, and thanks for posting a topic of interest! All of these topics about motorcycles, and rides need to go on a motorcycle forum... Wait, what?
  11. In my opinion, just don't go crazy with it, and you'll be just fine. When you start using enough to shake windows a mile away, you may be getting carried away. Fun? Yes. Going to attract attention to yourself? More than likely.
  12. This. I think everyone is busy adapting to IPBoard, and maybe, just maybe some people are actually getting out and riding!
  13. The wife has a 1-1/2 pound pork tenderloin on the smoker right now. Actually not using any smoke though. It was a recipe that called for indirect heat on the grill, I said we should throw it in the smoker! It marinated overnight in a concoction that she find on allrecipes.com I believe.
  14. This. I don't shoot much more than my .22 out here, but I do put a few rounds through my pistol once in a while in the back yard. I LOVE being out away from the city!
  15. I seriously hate you right now.
  16. No real need to get any riding time in before that. They start you out as though you've never been on a bike!
  17. My wife had a similar situation happen just before we got married. A self insured company vehicle rear-ended her car, it was close to a total. Working with their representation was going no where. We got her insurance company (ironically it was State Farm) involved. SF took care of fixing her car, which was done at the shop where I was working, and the shop absorbed the deductible. A month or 2 after this month long ordeal was taken care of, she got a check from SF for the amount of the deductible! The only downside to this is that we switched her to my insurance a few months later, and since she had a no-fault claim, her rates were slightly higher.
  18. This is looking like a pretty bad year for riders crashing.
  19. This doesn't involve puppies, so his comments are totally invalid!
  20. Is there a chance of getting a "top" link on the mobile version? Is there a top of page shortcut on Android that I haven't found out about?
