  1. I've been following both Lit Motors and Elio Motors for several years now. I like the Lit concept vehicle better than Elio's, but they have been promoting and promising W-A-Y more than they have been delivering. I think Elio is closer to market than Lit, although the price point of under $7000 for the Elio is unrealistically low and will surely spell a death knell for the company if they try to market at that level. Lit Motors originally had promised a market product in 2013, then 2014, and it doesn't appear any closer to reality now than it did in '12. The price point is supposed to be around $22K - $24K for the Lit C-1, which is high but maybe a realistic price for an all-weather vehicle with heat/air/greater collision protection than a motorcycle but with the true feel of one. Interesting in theory and I'd love to see them succeed, but I'm keeping my money in my wallet for now….
  2. Ah-ha!!! So the first one is a throw-away? Now I understand why half the people in the world are f'd up….also explains a few things in my world.
  3. A bike manufacturer fudging dyno numbers??? Never happen….would it? That would mean they might be lying about final production weight as well….
  4. From EICMA: Fresh off a World Superbike Championship victory, you might think that the team from Aprilia would be content that they had the best race-ready 1,000cc motorcycle available. Fortunately, the Italian manufacturer doesn't see things that way. Enter the new 2015 Aprilia RSV4 RR. With a peak output of 201 horsepower and 85 pound-feet of torque from its 65-degree V4 engine, the new RR boasts 16 more ponies than before. Just as importantly, it sheds three pounds from its overall weight, which further helps the RSV4 RR achieve a much greater power-to-weight ratio than ever before. Not like it really needed it, but who are we to complain? And if you want even more performance, consider the RSV4 RF, which also debuted at EICMA, and its higher-spec suspension and wheel package. Start shittin'….I'll take a few doubloons when yer finished.
  5. Travis: I know it's considered bad form to shit in someone's FS thread, but since the bike doesn't actually belong to you and you're posting it for your buddy, I gotta just come right out and say what prolly 99.9% of the readers of your ad are thinking: A 13 year old salvage bike that's been beaten on stop-light-to-stop-light for xx,xxx miles, modified, chopped up, wrecked, missing all the expensive OEM plastics, with frame damage, electronic issues and an oil leak, is barely worth the gas money to cart off the remaining parts. Your buddy would be hard pressed to put it on CL and get an offer to trade for a broken X-Box and 43 pirated Chinese knock-off game cartridges. You can buy a fairly nice bike of the the same vintage for about the money he's asking. Do him a favor and tell him to keep it and ride it until one of those "jankey" motor mounts lets go. There. I said it. Sorry, Casper….I couldn't help myself. Now I can go back to enjoying my weekend.
  6. Used in chariot races….ala Ben Hur.
  7. When it's lowered, of course, you silly.
  8. Wow… just… wow. GLWS!!! Think there's a minimum 30-day period from join-up and minimum post limit before you can post in the For Sale section. This might get pulled. Just an FYI.

Well, given that yours is only the second post in this forum since Feb 2013, I'd say there's a good chance you'll get lonely if you hang here. This is the time of year that a lot of folks stick their bikes in the back of the garage with the broken lawnmowers and only post on OR to get into arguments with the trolls. The OR crowd is more active in C-bus and points north, but there are a few Cinti folks here along with some from Dayton, Middletown and Hamilton. If you're really looking for riders to hit the local roads around the Cinti area, join LocalRidersdotcom. Much smaller forum membership, so not near the number of posts as OR, but there is a pretty dedicated crew of maybe 5-10 folks who ride all year long when the weather permits. Stop in to the Cars'n'Coffee meet every Saturday morning--mostly cars this time of year but always a few riders. Tuesday night is bike night at the Comet in Northside and usually has a pretty good turnout if the weather isn't miserable. You could also introduce yourself on the AssfaultJunkies forum, but most there are sport bike riders and track-heads. Never hurts to use all the resources available, tho….
  10. First rule of outbuilding planning: If you think you need 12x14 of floor space, build it 24x28. And it'll still be too small. Seriously, a 12x14 area is pretty small once you get tools, bikes, a stand, and all the other stuff you'll move in. Make it as big as the available ground and your budget will allow. Trust me on this one….
  11. Yes it is!!! I actually prefer the term 'under-employed'….my philosophy is that I'm still waiting for just the right offer to start my second career! Until then, I ride.
  12. Glad you're home safe! Good riding with you again. Definitely got some great riding in on the backroads today with surprisingly light traffic, even on the main SRs. I was running the Strom hard enough to turn the Anakee DS tire to grease on 1942. Might have to do it all over again tomorrow….
  13. Gaaaak!!! Not a fan. Admittedly some valid points, but they could've made those same points without producing this seriously cringe-worthy video, no? I really don't see this production as empowering to women….but then I'm not female. Guess I learn something new everyday….
  14. Tried to grow a beard several times and it came in a mix of red and grey and looked a lot like something the cat had half-eaten and left in the corner of the garage the previous spring. This talk of manly facial hair has me all a'twitter….It's time to post some selfies, gentlemen! Figger it's free advertising to the ladies.
  15. One of the reasons that 90% of the crazy road rage/wild car crash videos are from Russia. Pretty sure that most of the vehicles on the the streets in that country are running a video cam.
  16. Cleveland? Columbus? Cincinnati?
  17. I can identify with this. When it comes to the Sunday funnies, I don't try to understand….I just look at the pictures.
  18. Damn. I think it's only fair that you be allowed to ask for a do-over on the last few months. Tough times, indeed. Hope you find the strength in yourself and your friends and family to overcome.
  19. Can you eat zombies? I mean, they're already dead so it's not murder. Technically, I suppose it would be cannibalism….
  20. G3FG: Without knowing any particulars, I will only say that the Big C--in any of it's various iterations--is never fun….neither for the patient nor for family and friends. Hope it gets it's ass kicked!!!
  21. It only works in this case…IF…you shave your ass hairs every spring and then grow them back thick and luxurious in the fall. In either case, I'd bet you could find some documentation of this process somewhere on YouTube!!!
  22. One of the most damning pieces of evidence in the video is at 4 sec. As the truck begins to merge into Scruit's lane, the TRUCK'S BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ALREADY ON as it comes into the frame, even before he completes the pass and prior to the collision, indicating that the driver wasn't accelerating around the slower vehicle but instead was brake checking him before the pass was even complete. That's clear evidence of intent to cause damage, IMHO. Burn that M'F'er!!!
  23. Take away from video: Stay the hell out of C-bus! Drivers are as bad if not worse than Cincinnati drivers. Truck was hell-bent on making sure you 'noticed' him….guess he got his wish.
