  1. ^ I have heard nothing good about rice paddy. Just ask Blake1221 about his experience.

    BTW, use the search feature

Seems like their advertising is better than their customer service.

I didn't get a very positive vibe from them either, I felt hustled, rushed, pushed to buy something I didn't need or want.

Definitely felt the "We know better than you" attitude.

I don't see what they have that is worth much in their store.

The condition of the parts isn't so good.

Auto junkyards do a better job of inventory and the like.

Course it is a niche market, to be fair.

Older parts are easier to find on ebay, better condition and cheaper too.

Halogen headlight conversion kit RP used, $99, ebay new $24 incl S/H.

The only thing I can see that they do know is know what will fit what.

I'm not really sure what that is worth...

I think you all have answered the question of if I should deal with these guys.

For every customer that complains 10 don't, they just never go back.

  2. yup, I had one pull out in downtown morning traffic. He even hesitated in front of me when he saw me. I was relatively slow approaching him, I knew what was going to happen long before he did.

edit: one more thing... your bike can stop faster than the car behind you. Don't test that theory in heavy traffic.

Like a deer in the headlights, they stop and look at the bike they pulled out in front of.

I never did get that part, why do they stop and block the entire lane instead of keep moving so hopefully they aren't there by the time you get there.

  3. Hey kids, nice hanging out with you guys. Boo ross for needing andy to convince him to come out :D and yay new kids strictly street and taco bell guy :)

Nice putting faces to names! :)

Now that I know where it is I just might have to stop by again.

Unless the old lady from the Marathon station sends me straight to Hell for asking directions to "Hooters"

    ==========

"This is a bill that will protect children and will protect America," said Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., a leading supporter. "Every day that we don't act, 3,500 American kids - children - will light up for the first time. That is enough to fill 70 school buses."

The Congressional Budget Office estimated that FDA regulation could reduce underage smoking by 11 percent over the next decade.

The bill, said American Heart Association CEO Nancy Brown, "provides a tremendous opportunity to finally hold tobacco companies accountable and restrict efforts to addict more children and adults."

Costs of the new program would be paid for through a fee imposed on tobacco companies.

    ===========

This is not a shakedown, it's an offer you can't refuse, see it's a law, you don't want to argue about a law, do you?

And who will pay for those "fees forced on tobacco companies"?

Of course no citation for the statistics either from Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., a leading supporter.

Just remember it's not about the money, no really, not about the money...

  5. Yea, yea. I know you were throwing up all night and had the poops all day... blah blah blah. They have a bathroom. :D

Um the timing of my reply to missing bike night is not to be confused with missing this.

I would like to miss this!

  6. Glad to hear you're okay. I know this sounds dumb, but I believe to to a degree, a crash can inspire more confidence once you get back on the horse, as you now know what it's like. You survived it, and know why it happened. So, you don't do it again, and don't get nervous next time you are in a similar situation.

    Now go make zero's san'wich, girl! :D

    Strange but true.

Did you say sammich? Yum sammich...;)

  7. Yep she's now's definitely a member of the club! After further inspection of the area where the incident took place, (I just got back from picking up the bike) I believe she gave it just a little too much rear as she was on the white painted directional line at the intersection, which we all know tend to be extremely slippery in the pouring down rain. The fact that the rear is a drum brake didn't help either, since they're pretty much "on" or "off".

I thank you all for the support as well, she was pretty shaken up at first, but she's good now and already wants to get back on the horse. Hell after a few good crashes you barely even notice when they happen anymore. :D Speaking of which, I haven't been down on the street for a couple years now.. aww hell, that means I'm due soon as well. FML.. ;)

And again the nice thing about a dual sport, no bike damage whatsoever, except a scratch on the barkbuster, which of course saved the bars and lever. :)

I found out about the white lines the hard way as well. Used to be they painted them on the road so there was still some traction there now they are some kind of sticker. Slick even when dry.

Glad she's got the nerve back. Sounds like she freaked herself out over it more than it deserved. A couple of deep breaths.... Ok, back at it.

Nice that the bike is ok too!

  8. Still like that paint. Ya know I thought that was a harley at first glance and never looked twice at it. Somebody (BigBlueBird I think) pointed out it wasn't so I had to take a closer look and see.

Sho, nuff', VStar. I am such a noob when it comes to the newer bikes. Can't tell one from the other.

  9. Side note: I wonder why the Diebold machines were 'manipulated' during the last two elections but no mention of it this time. Hmm... interesting. :violin:

The key words are "No mention", still happened just not reported with blaring trumpets to prove "W" wrong and corrupt. "O" gets a pass on all these kinds of things from the press.

The press at large clearly supports "O". CNN anchors are mostly former Clinton press secretaries such as Wolf Blitzer and the rest. No wonder they side with the Democrats.

Not that this should be a surprise to anybody but it does make me wonder how much goes on that we never hear about due to media bias in general.

This isn't new, been going on forever. Now we have the internet so it is easier to notice.

  10. Theres only two kinds of riders in the world.

Them's that have crashed and them's thats going to crash.

You have now joined the majority.

Now that you have that out of the way you can get on with life.

What did you learn from this?

Oil dripping from cars makes intersections very slick in the rain.

(It's worst in the center of the road, stay in the tire tracks from the cars)

Easy on the brakes in the rain. Next time steer into the skid and keep the bike up.

    Gear is good.

You are now an official biker. ;)

    Glad your not hurt!

  11. when they came for the jews I did nothing, then they came for the blacks I did nothing.... etc. etc. till there was no one left to defend me...... one day peeps are gonna wake up and realize that maybe the "little guy" doesn't deserve what the hell he didn't go out and work for.... as far as the legislation goes, it's already up to shareholders to have a say in how their "companies" are run, it's called a proxy vote.... and good companies listen to shareholders and run the companies for the long run... it's when gov't got involved and insisted that everyone deserved a home loan is where the country started going south.... then the credit crisis came, then the housing market collapsed, money dried up... etc etc.... we got here via bad leadership... I.E. THE WHOLE F-N GOV'T is to blame for this..... not just one side.... and Not because CEO's were getting paid big money....

Absolutely correct. There are reports from the Clinton era which say these things are a bad idea even what would happen. But they got votes and so they were passed.

The Democrats drew up the legislation and the Republicans let them. Everybody is to blame since Reagan on both sides of the fence.

Perhaps short sighted politicians should be outlawed, as if...

  12. Just got home, the evening turned out beautifully. Great seeing everyone again, and good meeting new people.

    Good seeing you too!

Just when I got to thinking I had the oldest bike there somebody pulled up on a 70's era Honda CB-350 cafe'ed out. They even had "Historical" plates.

Oh the shame... second oldest bike:confused:

  13. Sounds like fun!

Looks like it will be dry tonight!:)
