  1. Great card Kawi Kid. Gets the point across doesn't it.
  2. Last I heard there is no law defining lane splitting in Ohio. So if it ain't illegal, then it must be legal. http://www.ohio-riders.net/showthread.php?t=11965 http://home.ama-cycle.org/amaccess/laws/result.asp?state=OH http://accident-law.freeadvice.com/accident-law/motorcycle-helmut-laws.htm http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080912104308AAFfd30
  3. Greetings from a former s-side resident
  4. Rain ain't out there so I guess I will be.
  5. Nah, just old skool. BTW, where do you think the phase of "It's the bomb" came from?
  6. Look No Peddles. How to deal with cages, LOL! Umm, yea, bored. Funny you should ask.
  7. If he restored it I'd give him some credit. For tracking down the parts if nothing else. But he added Peddles! Why not training wheels? If he wanted a moped he should just go buy one! Hopefully I'll have another bike long before the KZ dies. It's still got quite a bit of life left in it. Not really fast life, all of it under 95mph, but life none the less. It will still be a go-to-work daily rider for years to come! Somebody out there will find it an excellent first bike. No, I wont put peddles on it even if your bike is faster!
  8. NO1UNO - Already taken. CUL8TR from some movie ililili Sure thing Officer, thats the plate number. 2z2z2 q0q00q 0o0o00 750HP - Seen on on a viper
  9. After cannibalizing his girlfriend’s bike for parts, filleting the frame with a Sawzall and installing electric motors and batteries, Santa Cruz handyman Geoff Bjorgan successfully converted a 1986 Honda motorcycle into an electric, pedal-assist bike. A 120 lb. electric, pedal-assist bike. With a steampunk aesthetic. This bad boy is no Mission One, but it’s still cooler than Steve McQueen. “I was more concerned with look than function,” Bjorgan told Autopia. “The bike is heavy, definitely a flatlander, but it cruises at 21 mph so I’m happy.” More here: http://www.wired.com/autopia/2009/06/help-me-honda/
  10. Glad to be of help. I think that Recons comments are the ones you should try first. It's a more general solution so it's more likely to be true. Especially on a 1977 bike. But if you have good fuel flow, take a look at those plug wires. If they are not seated properly or arc/short out you get some real weird results. Like that strange come-and-go idle trouble you are having. If you have to replace the spark plug wires you will find that nobody has them for less than a bajillion dollars for a bike that old. So try NAPA part# 780310, you will need 4 of them ($5 each). I happen to have just done this mod to my 1980 KZ so I still have the NAPA box/P#. One end has a spark plug fitting the other end you wont need. Cut off the connector you don't need and push the wire into the coil tower so the little spike pokes into the center conductor. Oh! make sure to put the twist on caps back on the coil wires to hold them securely in place. Hope this helps.
  11. Other thoughts. Idle problems on my 1980 KZ were helped by. New spark plug wires, which caused me to also find that the wires weren't seated properly. Low voltage on the coils, which is an issue for all older bikes. See this thread for info; http://www.wgcarbs.com/forum/index.php?topic=263.0 A lot of good info there for "Vintage Bikes" Between those two issues I got the bike running 40% better. Lost a high speed miss, an idle issue and it became a much better behaved bike. Starts quicker, jumps higher etc. For carb issues see this guide: http://www.factorypro.com/tech/carbtune,CV,high_rpm_engines.html and this one: http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/vintage-motorcyle-info/103856-kz550-rough-running-float-height.html Hope this helps.
  12. I heard about it on the News, Strange stuff.
  13. So thats what that was about. Talk about happy campers!
  14. I'm also on the north side. I don't know of anybody meeting to ride over there. Best bet is 270 to Roberts to Hilliard-Rome rd, left on Hilliard-Rome rd, then look for a Key Bank or Advance Auto Parts on the left (~ 1-2 mi) It's behind the bank with the Hooters flags. If you get to the 70/270 exchange you went to far If you wanted to meet so you know where you are going let me know in the next 40 minutes or so.
  15. Rats! I mean rats, no wing night I didn't mean it is rat night. Anyway I think I'll roll out that way. 7ish
