  1. You and I are thinking alike Ebon. That is the change I was planning on making. Modified route has been added to the first post. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1316929
  2. Thanks for the update, I will take a look at the route and make the necessary changes.
  3. Should be a good ride, looking forward to a ride with zero incidents. See all of you Saturday morning.
  4. What do you mean you are going to try? You better make it for this ride or you will be entering into the same class as Todd.
  5. We will meet at 8:30 and depart at 9:00. Route is 190 miles heading down into the Hocking Hills area. We will have lunch at Sonic in Nelsonville as well as gas up since it is about 105 miles into ride. Meet at: Calvary Chapel of Columbus located at 6075 E. Livingston Ave http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1316929 Hope to see you there
  6. I will be taking 70 out there in July. Since we only have so many days to take off we are going to take 2 days to get there, ride for 2 days and attempt to ride back in 1 for the 1500 in 36 hours IBA. More than likely we will end up stopping for the night but it is worth a try. Our trip is the second weekend in July.
  7. Since you are trailering down you should be fine. My rear was very similar to that last weekend before I went down to the gap but I rode down. I was concerned but it ended up no problem. The most wear occurred on the ride down and back. When I was down there the wear that did occur was mostly on the sides of the tire so it actually evened out. Have fun and ride safe!

    Praying for Adam right now.
  9. Not on the 19th unless you are going to bail early. We are not coming home until the 20th. This is the route I will be riding on the 19th. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1173991

    Hi!

    Welcome to the forum.
  11. For those of you wondering why a ride has not been posted yet for next weekend. We will not be doing a local ride this month. We are meeting on the 18th and riding down to Deals Gap for the weekend. We will be riding all day Saturday the 19th around the Western NC area, Sunday riding the Devils Triangle then heading home Sunday afternoon. I will be posting up some pics of the trip once I return and there will also be a ride planned for June.
  12. I think so, bacchus is supposed to be picking it up tomorrow.
  13. I have a pair of Chatterbox Xbi bluetooth headsets that my wife and I have used for a couple years as rider to passenger headsets. They work great for listening to music or receiving calls while sync'd to a smart phone as well as communicating between devices. I have been on calls while going down the interstate at 70mph and the person I was speaking with had no idea I was riding my bike. The headsets are for full face helmets, they do not have the boom style mic. The only thing needed for you to start using them is double sided tape to mount the device bracket to the side of your helmet. There is also a power cord to allow you to recharge device while in use. I have never used this plug since the headset will last for most rides each day. This is the link to the chatter box website for more information on this device: http://chatterboxusa.com/?page_id=42
  14. You can get a RAM mount for just about anything. http://www.ram-mount.com/
  15. Looks like a great trip. I would love to do that some time. This summer we are taking a trip out to Montrose, CO so that will be a warm up for an Alaska trip in the future.
  16. Weather is not looking good for today. Looks like it will be clear in Columbus area but east of Columbus may hold the showers until noon. It will be a last minute decision.
  17. We are staying at the Deals Gap Resort so look us up if you are in the area.
  18. Unless it is pouring down rain at 9:00 I will be heading down to Calvary Chapel. If nobody shows up for the ride I will head home but if there is anyone else that wants to ride, I will be riding. Next months ride will be down to Deals Gap so if you want to join us on the May ride we will leave on Friday morning the 18th and return on Sunday the 20th. We have 12 riding down plus about another 6 or 7 meeting us there from other areas. We have filled all of the rooms that we reserved but there is always camping available. If interested, shoot me a message. There can also be a ride locally but someone else that is not going to the Gap will need to lead it.
  19. I did not enjoy it. I was chilled to the bone by the time I got to Oak Hill. I don't let rain stop me from riding but I do not particularly enjoy it.
  20. We do not have a rain date, if we get rained out we will just ride next month. With the forecast right now I would say that we will be riding. I do not enjoy riding in rain either but the forecast is calling for scattered showers so it will probably be fine.
  21. coOkie, When you are riding in a group I am leading you will never have to worry about getting lost. We will always wait for everyone before a turn is made and if someone does not show up, we will send someone back to find you. Even though I was not planning on leading this ride or even joining the ride it was great riding with you all. I hated to see the ZX-10 go down, it is never good to see a bike go down but if it is going to happen, it is also great that he was not injured. I hope to see you all next Saturday for the Christian Sport Bike Assoc. ride. I am not sure what route you all took after I left with the ZX-10 but next weekends ride will be the same as I was planning on taking today so you should be familiar with the roads. We will meet at 9:30 and depart at 10:00 from Calvary Chapel of Columbus on E. Livingston Ave.
  22. Brown Mtn is a great place to ride. Never anyone out there and some great technical riding. Been a while since I have been down there. Glad you had a great time.
