I don't know what's going on with food. I heard Sam and her mom talking about a "menu" for the weekend? So I'm assuming they'll be cooking a bunch of crap which is ok with me. They asked me what I usually eat at the track. Hot dogs and lunch meat sandwiches didn't sound too appetizing to them. I said sometimes Ron brings moose meat, lol.

I'm in for the trackday Saturday, 750/600's/Mini 20 on Sunday. Should be bringing the fiancé and future in-laws in their new to them RV. Hoping I can talk them in to coming to future Moto Series events so I don't have to buy a toy hauler. Ron....I'll bring the rest of the Captain for Saturday night.

I was thinking of coming out for Friday but not going to happen. I'll probably come Sat morning sometime and stay for the weekend. Will sign up for Monday if spots are still available.

If you're ready to start spending more money on tires, got a generator and warmers, then go ahead and do it. If you are racing, race tires will help your times. Can you go way faster than you are now on Q3's? Absolutely. But it will probably do you more good in the mental game than anything to run DOT's. Trusting your tires is one way to go faster for sure. Just my .02, and prepared to hear others tell you something different.

I haven't been following what's going on with NYST. Are they still running big bikes there? Last I heard was 250's only?

I want to go, and I want to do a track day there. I'd rather do the Monday track day if I ho

I also think Andrew is limiting his lean angle by how high is upper body is. You're better off with your upper body low like yours which lowers the whole center of gravity. You're at the apex of the corner where the most lean would be and your lean angle is < or = to Andrew. Craig....who knows what that guy is doing?
-
Dang, Andrew has some pretty crossed - up weird body position. Looking at that pic Ryan, I'd say just focus on going faster.
-
Haha trust me I was in disbelief myself. Granted the pass was on the back straight at PIRC and he was passing a 250. But it was a pass either way.
-
Total respect for Bill, but that was pretty scary with him in A group. I think I lapped him about every 2-2.5 laps. On a plus side, I actually saw him make a pass on someone during one of the races Sunday.
-
Free beer? I'm in. Ryan I think your problem is your body position is too good. If you crossed up a little more you'd get that knee down like you want.

Too far to do it more than a couple times a year. Most of my available weekends are already tied up at the racetrack. But if any of you guys that ride all the time can find me a buyer, I'll offer a $50 finder fee.
-
Haha trust me I'd love to. It just sucks having to trailer it 3.5 hours to go ride at WNF. Ultimately I just don't have time for it. Too many toys, not enough weekends in summer to enjoy them all. Something's gotta go. When I bought this thing I also wasn't travelling for work quite as much as I am now. I'm gone somewhere just about every week.

Thanks guys. I definitely did go over budget rebuilding this. I had full intentions of riding the piss out of it. Then all my riding buddies moved or got rid of their quads, and I got more into racing bikes. Rather see it go to someone who can ride it and enjoy it.

***I'm out of town until July 8th, just wanted to get this listed to see if there's any interest*** 2006 Z400, asking $3200. Price includes all the spares and extras I have, if you don't want them I can work on the price. Bought 2 winters ago and did a "frame off" restoration along with lots of mods. The list of mods and rebuilt items is long, but I figured I'll list them all so you can see what was done. Only 3 short rides on it since all the work was done, which is my main reason for selling. I'll list the only 2 negatives I can think of before all the good. It could use rear brake pads. The plastics have some small cracks and plenty of scratches. Engine rebuild and performance stuff: Kibblewhite stainless intake/exhaust valvesHot Cams intake/exhaust camsNew cam chainFerrea intake valve springsDRZe lower gasket kit (raises compression a bit)New piston/rings/honed cylinderFull Yoshimura exhaust, header and muffler (I bought this one used)FCR39 flat slide carb from a yzf 450 (ncvq needle, new jets, carb rebuilt, choke relocator, a/f screw, etc)Pro Design air filter kit (replaces horrible stock filter that leads to dust in the engine, destroying the shitty stock intake valves. this is the most common failure on a z400)Other stuff: Replaced every bushing/bearing like axle bearings, suspension linkage, swingarm, wheel bearings, steering stem bushing, etc.new front pads and rotorsnew chain and sprocketsAmerican Star +2 A arms with new ball joints, tie rods and endsStainless front brake linesITP Baja rims with ITP Holeshot HD 6 ply tires, and excellent xc/trail riding tire and wheel combo (front rims are 4/1 offset vs. stock 3/2, so the front is only widened by 1 inch per side even though the a arms are +2)Chrome steering stemRecovered seatPowerMad handguardsFly Racing starter switch2009 handlebars with new gripsTusk front grab barArmadillo swingarm skid plateExtras: 2 sets of stock a arms and a new bearing kit for themStock front rims/tires. Tires don't have much life left and the rims are banged upStock rear rims/ITP tires. The rear rims are in better shape, tires are probably 90% but only 4 ply.Extra plugs/filtersClymer manualGT thunder rear shock sprung for 190 lb riderTons of receipts and instructions for ASR a armsExtra set of front brake pads With the full exhaust, bigger carb, and cams in this thing it can breath well and really rips. Will keep up with 450's, and it has reverse! In my opinion this is one of the best trail riding sport quads out there. If you have any questions just ask. I'll get some more pics with all the plastics on when I get back from vacation after July 8th.

In the first 600 sprint it just started cutting out on the last lap. He messed around with his bazzaz and tried to make it back out for the second 600. He grid himself in the back in case it cut out on the start (thanks, smart thing to do to keep everyone safe) and I don't think he made it much past turn 1 before he pulled off.

I think the heat and humidity was getting to a lot of people, especially later Sunday. I know of at least 2 people who said they were so exhausted they threw up a little in their mouths/helmets. Just be happy that didn't happen and most of all we all came home safe. A few broken bones is never good, but sounds like they'll be alright. Excited for the next round back at PIRC to see if I can improve my times or at least keep them consistent. And Hollywood get that bike fixed! Let me know if I can help.

Ron I was glad to see you come out to the track to hang with us, and glad to see you decided to stay the night and not drive home after polishing off that bottle. I felt pretty good most of the day even though I didn't place very well in the 750 or the first 600. Met my goal of getting into the 2's and then exceeded it with a new personal best of 1:01.738. Had a nice battle going back and forth with Will in the mini 20, but he got the best of me in the end. Some crazy lap traffic held me up for a lap, and by that point there was no catching back up. As always, great weekend and can't wait to do it again!

I'm trying to get there as early as possible, but my truck is in the shop right now and hoping it will be done at 5. Then I gotta load all my crap up. Maybe be there at 9-10. Anyone know for sure what time the gates close?
-
Wow Jeff that would be awesome. I know it wouldn't be ready by this weekend but I'd buy a couple of those from ya! I can give you the length of my rod but I won't post it publicly everyone will laugh at me.

Pics of the worst lack of maintenance you've ever seen. GO!

At least the tires don't have cords showing -
If I stop by to borrow yours, I'll grab the cert and see if I can sell it for you. Only problem is, no one is selling dunlops track side this year.

They're like $20. One end has left handed threads, is that a problem?
