Yup, 200 miles on the street is a little different than 200 miles on a track at race pace. I've ridden with tpoppa too and I know his 400-500 mile days are no joke either.
-
I'd make the drive down for that. I don't have any good winter toys, but I guess I'll bring whatever I think might be fun. Mini bike, and maybe dirt bike if I get my atv sold. I could always bring the atv, but 2wd sucks in the snow especially if it's deep.
-
That's what I'm thinking as well. If they get that on the schedule that will make it 9 rounds. Already better than last year and that's with losing the Daytona 200. I have seen a lot of complaints from the west coast that all the tracks they are running are in the east. But who cares about the west coast anyway?
-
I liked watching the race and sad to see it go. Tire changes were weird, but I have a ton of respect for the riders running a 200 mile race. I run a 20 minute "Mini Endurance" race and I'm dead after 35 or so miles.

I think everyone is on point with their suggestions so far. I wouldn't worry about a quick shifter or power commander/tune until you think you're going as fast as you possibly can and really want those last few tenths. Unless you want the quick shifter just cause it's easy. Not gonna lie, I'm never gonna have a track bike without one again. I'm too lazy to roll off the throttle for upshifts now.

any of you z400 guys changed your shocks?
TRMN8TR replied to 4DAIVI PAI2K5's topic in Play in the Dirt
Haven't messed with the front, I have an 06 z400. But I did swap out the rear for one revalved and resprung by GT Thunder. Made a big difference, no longer felt like it wanted to buck me outta the seat. Can't comment much on the fronts though. -
I think about quitting my job, taking a vacation day, calling in sick, EVERY SINGLE MORNING when I wake up. But that usually lasts for the first 4-5 snoozes of the alarm clock. Then I get up and shower and I'm happy I have a job. Truthfully it's just the waking up part I hate, not the job. I was that kid who his parents had to wake him up on Christmas morning to come open presents. I think I've done a decent job of living within my means already. I bought a smaller house than what I could afford and I drive a 10 year old truck because I don't want to make payments on a new one. I'd rather spend the money on racing, vacations, my fiance, saving for an early retirement, etc. I'm also lucky enough to have a job that still provides a pension. I'm one of the only people my age that I know has a pension through their work, aside from some gov't people. Makes it hard to leave my company when I've been with them for 9 years.

Cleveland area. I'm a good 2 hours from Toledo

That would probably work. I need to stop out soon to see your offspring anyway.

Well, found a ton of the templates already in Word. Never knew they were there.

Don't know if it's a temporary outage, but anything I click on the page takes me to "This page can't be displayed" I'll check back later and at home instead of work, sometimes it's just a work filter thing? Thanks for the link though.

Marking my calendar. Haven't been on a good street ride since sometime in May. Just need to get my new front tire mounted up before then. I'd also be interested in meeting up somewhere in NEO first. Millersburg itself is a 100 mile trip from my house.
-
If you're ever up in NEO I have one you could have for free. I got it for free with the idea of doing powder coating and never got around to it. I'd like the space back in my basement.
-
Let me know when you get it, I'm taking out a life insurance policy on you.
-
Also I'm an enginerd and not what you would call artistic. It would be nice to have someone add a little flair to it.
-
Ok, so maybe you can do it in word with a template? I'll just say I'm good at a lot of things, even pretty decent with computers but making something like that is out of my league. I could probably do it if I really put my mind to it, but I'd like to have it done sometime this year. If any of you are capable, have the time, or know someone who can assist point me in their direction. I've got a lot of things going on and decided to ask the experts on this project. Will pay for help!

I'm trying to create a "racer resume" that I can print out on a standard 8.5x11 paper. I don't know if photoshop is the way to do it, or some sort of graphic design software is out there? But I know word and MS paint are not the way to go and that's all I have. Can't get to image hosting sites at work to post a pic, but something like this link is what I'm trying to accomplish. Doesn't even need to be that fancy. http://static.wix.com/media/38b34f_c01ca9cd0870577876e05a9d20912be5.jpg_256

Wondering if anyone here is a graphic designer, or at least better with that sort of stuff than what my MS Paint skills allow me to make? I have the text written, a few graphics picked out, and I started trying to lay something out on paper and realized I have no clue what I'm doing. If you might be interested in helping me out post up or send me a PM and let me know what you would charge to do something like that. I can give more details if needed.

I know, cutting edge stuff right there... Nice bike anyways!

Well I didn't pull off the first place championship (that was a long shot) but I moved from 3rd to 2nd. Going in to today I was 5 points behind Hollywood the "Magical Mushroom" as he is now known. I'll let you ask him how he got that nickname. Anyway, he decided to skip yesterday's practice and just show up and race today like a rockstar. Well that cost him a little in the first race, he was a bit off pace. I gained 3 points, and was still 2 behind. He got a good start in race 2 and me not so much. He led me for I think 4-5 laps and was running a lot faster. I had to work for it and stuff it up the inside. I wound up finishing 2 spots ahead which gave me the 3 points I needed to steal second overall. He made me earn it and it's been a battle like this all season going back and forth. He will be missed in the paddocks next year when he takes a season off to study or something dumb like that.
-
Just landed in Cleveland. Still gotta load up, get some food and drinks, and a few other things before I leave. Probably be there at 8 or 9
-
Apparently there are rv hookups now. (at least for electric) Anyone know where those spots are?
-
Dan when you gonna go ahead and do a race? Weren't you running some 1:04's at a track day? That should be a pretty competitive pace, you'll probably drop a second or so from that chasing people.
-
Smack talk is appreciated. Sabotage will not be necessary, this will be a gentleman's race or at least as much as possible considering the competition.
-
Life is good. It'll be great when I beat "the other ginger" and Soren and win the championship!
