as long as there are gas stops, and a place to park my truck and unload, I'm there! -
I'm out for this fellas and gal. Sorry everyone!

Jd is a good dude. I've bugged him a few different times and he's always been very nice and full of info!

I've had this lingering around the garage for a few months, but I haven't made it OR official yet. Heres my new to me scoot. 2008 crf450X. Street tagged Trailtech vapor display Tusk lighting kit 15/48 gearing( for street) rekluse clutch kenda k270s FMF Q4 dynojet jet kit otherwise its pretty much stock. It may end up with some super moto wheels for street use.

I'll be watching this thread! Hope to make it out !

Rotella has changed! I just run straight diesel fuel. Works great. I love to hear the wet clutch chatter.

It's magnesium. Looking on eBay, almost every cover for sale is peeling inside. I don't get it. Mag needs to breath and doesn't hold paint well. I'm not sure why Honda would have done this. I used a dremel today with a tiny wire wheel and while it removed the coating, the dust was brutal, so I stopped pretty quick.

Just keep an eye on the regulator/rectifier and stator and battery. That's the weak link. Enjoy man!
-
Doing a valve check today , I noticed the coating on the inside of my cam cover flaking off. It appears this could clog an oil passage pretty easily. Anyone else ran into this? http://s13.photobucket.com/user/lowxpectationz20/media/9039A622-4612-49B7-B01D-36FB2DD0B68C_zpsr7fu7cku.jpg.html]

More looking for nice hotel recommendations. Would be checking in sat afternoon and our Sunday morning -
I'm down. Just need to get some dates!

I always thought an old farm truck with a flat bed like that, and a nice healthy small block with a manual trans would be fun!

I had a hard time finding a clean drum. Ended up finding a drum at a place called Dayton industrial drum. It had shot blast material in it, so it just had some dust inside. Rinsed it out and started to burn it out. http://s13.photobucket.com/user/lowxpectationz20/media/EDE36F11-17FE-4B62-B873-E2B99068332A_zpsmwc6hqib.jpg.html] My plan is to have double doors. One for meat, one to load chips/water. Going to put legs on it, and wheels. The cooking grates will be loaded through the top. I originally planned to use a burner from a turkey fryer, but after a quick experiment yesterday I'm not so sure. I set the barrel on my turkey fryer and threw some wood in. In just a few minutes the wood pretty much a hobo furnace. The burner is 58k BTU. I may need to find a smaller burner. I normally only smoke at 220-250 degrees. Anyone have any suggestions on the burner?

I have acquired a 55 gal drum, as the base platform for my smoker. Time to start ordering supplies. I will post pictures as it comes together.

Man. The LS s10 just brought back memories of my project of my teenage years. I Had a 92' reg cab short bed s10. 4 cyl 5 speed. Destroyed two transmissions in 3 years( I thought i was ricky bobby). Long story short, I scrounged together the parts to do a 305( yes,I know) with a th350. Learned so much about building, cars and life during that project. Good stuff. I mentioned a jeep a few pages back and did end up pulling the trigger on one. Found a clean 03. 4.0 5 speed. A/C. engine wasn't very strong, but its clean. Its currently at the engine builder as I type this. I swapped out the hardtop for a soft top, BFG radial at k02s, dirtworx bumpers, rancho rs5000x shocks. Going to add a winch and pretty much call it done. Its been great fun for the family.

My smoker has officially died. Years of over filling and heat has taken its toll. Time to build one. I will post build pics here =)

i've done both ways. Doesn't seem to make much difference. Some people get fancy, and soak them in juice/whiskey ect. I can't tell much difference. I typically add chips every hourish. If I'm using dry chips, i do the same. Once the meat gets up into the 140+ internal temps I quit adding wood, as I believe all the smoke absorption is ready done.

you like to drive? Get your CDL.. drive a semi. Its not all that hard to get your CDL. If you don't want to go the semi route, get your Class B and just stick to dump trucks.

Man, I had no idea you were still in the hospital during our sprint discussions. Glad your here to tell the story. Heal up soon!
