  1. This thing was literally scary to drive. 55 mph was it. It literally didn't have the power to pull itself. It was only running 3000 rpms in 4th and wouldn't go any faster and 5th wouldn't do more than 52. I got 61 down hill. Are all the 4 cylinders like that? I see a ton of them on the road. I can't imagine everyone's only doing 50 Edit. Why is a quote IP made a few days ago showing up in my post!?
  2. Well I drove the 2000 4 cyl today. I showed up, and it had a 2.5 inch rough country lift. Super clean, but it absolutely would not go over 55 mph. 5th gear was useless. If I shifted into 5th, it actually slowed down bc it didn't have the power to maintain the gearing. Is that normal?
  3. i LOVE all the bicycle talk on here lately. Gives me a reason to swing by. Isaac's slayer shirt is perfect. 31 is rollin pretty good! I'm going to have to get a ride in with you guys soon. Maybe I can drive up, We can do 50 and grab some food.
  4. ^^ This is pretty much how my body operates as well. There is nothing worse than being 10 miles from home and feeling like death. Awhile back, I went out for a 40ish mile road bike ride, and the last 10 miles, were the worst 10 miles of my life. I didn't have enough food with me. I mentally had to force my legs to push, and I puttered along at a mere 8 miles an hour for last 10, because thats ALL I could do. r
  5. going to look at a 2000 this morning. 4 cyl-5 speed. hard top. We will see. Pictures appear nice. Not totally sold on the 4 cyl route, but its local, so I figure its worth a look.
  6. i've yet to find much decent in that range, unless your shooting for 200k plus miles. I found a 2001 with a little lift and 33s today. 149k, and 8,000. I've yet to find a jeep for sale that is going for the ballpark NADA or KBB price. They are a lot more, in some cases even double. I don't quite understand it.
  7. Naw just took our time. Really didn't have any time constraints.
  8. I loaded my ridgeline down with the SV, cooler, extra fuel, stands, all the goods to do a track day. It was glorious not dealing with pulling a trailer. Went to mid ohio, ran my track day, loaded back up and came home. The truck is perfect for what I do with it. These days, it just hauls bicycles, but thats OK.
  9. Who here has a wrangler... I don't care what flavor... YJ-TJ-JK... give me your thoughts on it. Not as a daily driver, but as a fun summer vehicle
  10. for anyone who cares... I did 6.9 yesterday, and managed to knock my 5k time down to 24:33... I'm shooting hard for the 23s..
  11. Sorry to HI-jack the thread. I have done extensive moto hauling with my ridgeline =) Never used a chock. The inset in the bed works great.
  12. Few years ago, I drove to cocoa beach. Coming out of dayton, we took 35 to 64 to I believe 77. Ran down through the carolinas. I hate being in Georgia for 8 hours on i75. Wasn't a bad trip by any means but still a long way. We drove straight through coming home. I believe it took 23 hours. Being in a similar position with a 1.5 year old. I would fly, hands down, just to not have to deal with the meltdowns of crying, that is surely to happen, keeping a kid in the car that long.
  13. dont blame you. that puts it at a great price point. I have enjoyed my airborne experience for the most part. Their customer service has been solid.
  14. How do you like the hobgoblin? I debated heavily on that before I pulled the trigger on my goblin.
  15. I'll never forget the first time I met her. We were at the covered bridge in troy. There were about a dozen motorcycles with us. She pulled in and said " Hey! I'm Caryn! WTF is up!!" Rip Tank.
  16. Looking to buy a Jeep wrangler. Preferably the Tj years. 96-06'. Would prefer the 4.0. Auto or manual. What do you have?
  17. I'm in the process of getting a Jeep TJ. I bought a 2001 mustang last spring and quickly realized it wasn't for me. Drove it off an on through the summer, and just didn't have much fun with it. My plans for the TJ would include a 3-4 inch lift. 33x10.5s some good solid bumpers and a winch. Drive to the woods and enjoy. Nothing real crazy, just some mild wheeling. I just haven't found the proper jeep yet. Dang rust buckets.
  18. I absolutely love my ridgeline. I can haul babies, and motorcycles at the same time! I have a feeling it won't fit your needs, but with the in bed trunk, and under seat storage, its perfect for me =)
  19. There's nothing like it on the road. Plenty of imitators but nothing remotely close.
  20. tough mudder would be brutal. Good work. I would happily go ride 200 miles on my road bike before I started on that I dont feel bad after a 5k, but I have a mental fight at that point. I have a hard time making myself push toward a 10. I would agree with you, I wish we had hills here as well. I may have to follow you on the pull ups and push ups situation, just to mix things up a bit.
  21. Well, After fighting a bit of a sinus infection for a week, I decided I was health enough to go for a run. Managed to gain a couple personal records. Solid way to bring in the new year!
  22. Sure, I'll sell you some best thing I can recommend, is just coming out to ride, download " lose it" on your phone and track your calories and work hard =)
  23. Better yet, Ban the ground. If the ground wasn't there, the fellow could not have fallen on the ground dead.
