  1. Sleep is crucial. My last track day, I was so tired by the end of it, I had a buddy drive me home. I was still going on adrenaline , but once that wore off, I could barley hold my head up.
  2. Lowcel , you'll do just fine. Biggest thing I can tell you is to come ready to learn, and be open minded. I learned more in my first track day , than I did in 5 years of riding on the street .
  3. I had shinko Ravens on my fz1 when I first got the bike. They were rock hard, and no matter what , the rear didn't hook up. I personally wouldn't run them on the track. Just my own personal experience though.
  4. Ron, I'll sell you mine ... :-P
  5. My gytr slip on resides on my garage wall and generally only gets used for track days. I have a Leo Vince sbk on it right now, and it's not bad at all. Truthfully, I keep the stock muffler on it 9 times out of 10. The bike runs fantastic with the ivans jet kit and the stock muffler. It runs even better with the Leo Vince.
  6. Nice bikes, I have the same slip on for mine.
  7. I will be there as well. It will most likely be the first track trip on the SV. Should be fun. I'm registered for novice, and will be tech ready for I if need be.
  8. fantastic bike, at a fantastic price. Seems like no one has any love for the fz1. When I had mine listed, I didn't even get an offer.
  9. Sorry for those who have lost family members, I will keep all of you in my prayers.
  10. I dig the grom racing for a grom! Let me grab my leathers, I'll be there!
  11. yanked the craigslist ad, but thought I would post the info- The bike has 38k on the clock. Roughly 18k on new engine. Second gear went out in original engine. New engine had 7900 miles at installation. I have original engine. Paint isn't perfect but its a rider. Ohlins OES kit in front forks, Penske double rear shock (currently set up for 175 lb rider), Factory huger option (painted to match), super bike bars, Factory option larger wind screen, and I have a national cyles 22" windscreen Braided brake lines, LSL rear sets (with optional folding pegs), frame slides, Greg's custom front turn signals, Devil fender eliminator with integrated turn signals (painted to match), Ivan's jet kit, Ivan's AIS removal kit. Stock exhaust, and yamaha GYTR exhaust, and a leo vince homebrewed slip on Sargent seat.
  12. I don't think I'll get off the street all together. Although I really want a gen 2 sv650 for the street. I just haven't been Able to part with the fz1 yet.
  13. Anyone have any advice for a first timer at mid ohio? I did my first two track days on the fz1 and that's all it took. Did two track days within a month of each other. Within two months after that I purchased a second bike.... I hear it's a slippery slope from here...
  14. I'd really like a gen 2 sv , or a dual sport
  15. I'm pretty sure I tried to contact that guy back when I bought my first gen and never got any response.
  16. depending where you are at, I've seen guys get on the track day org forums, and ask around about ride sharing. Most guys are willing to share a trailer spot for splitting fuel costs. Depending where you are from me, and when you would want to go, I'd be willing to do the same.
  17. do some track days- learn to ride the sv. It will be much more forgiving and fun. IMO.
