Well, I highly doubt it's going anywhere anytime soon. I haven't even had a scammer email!

Sorta seems like a plug for comp , but welcome to the mix!

I'd like to ride one sometime. I almost bought one new in 2008. I've got my fz1 for sale , to fund a second sv650.

Just a slip on- Ivan's jet kit, ais delete , and a good tune. She's a beast. The real beauty of it is that I can toss the stock can on for long trips without any real issues.

Edit: Mine also dynoed 136 at the rear wheel

GSjack, you've almost sold me on a GS500! and im not even in the market!

First gen here. Rocking with 38k on the clock. Full suspension and brakes done. I love it. Its fast, Comfortable, smooth, and excellent two up. My second gear did go out as BAD said, but mind you my bike was primarily a track bike before I retired it to tour mode. The previous owner rode her hard. It had 26k on the clock when 2nd gear went. I found an ebay engine with 7900 miles on it, tossed it in and I've put another 12k on the bike since then. From what I read the 2001-2002s had the issue. They had 3 dogs where as the 2003+ has 5 dogs. The part number from 2001-2002 for the gears are superseded with the 2003+ part numbers. Now this is all just stuff I have read. Never verified with a yamaha dealer. My bike also has an ivans jet kit, and has been dyno tuned. Its the smoothest fueling I've ridden to date. Some people will argue that but its just my opinion. I like this bike, although I do have it for sale at the moment. I'm totally sucked into the SV650's. But I love this bike. It can go from this- to this... and then you can ride 500 miles back to the twisties in total comfort. If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up

nice and clean! Dig it man! -
I have also swapped the stock turn signals and bars. I really like bike master superbike bars, and have them on the FZ1 also. I snagged some up and tossed those on the SV as well. The turn signals are just some little clear lens LED signals. Nothin fancy, but they do the job and look cleaner than the OEMs. When I fabbed up the plate bracket and did the turn signals, I decided since the bike was going to be doing dual duty, I would make it easy to remove. I used all the OEM plugs and set it up, so that when I remove two screws, the plate lights, plate, and rear turn signals come off. All while I have been tinkering on this little scooter, I have been riding it as well. I noticed that I had the stereotypical clutch cover leak. Easy fix. Call up Mr. Nathan at riders discount and order a beautiful woodcraft clutch cover. What I have also noticed in my adventures that the bike was undersprung in the front. I also ordered a set of .95 racetech springs and some 15 wt silkolene.I installed the clutch cover last night. The fit and finish was fantastic. I will fire it up here in a bit and check for leaks. As some of you know, I'm OCD with keeping vehicles clean. Since the OEM body work on this bike is in such good shape, I went ahead and rounded up an extra fuel tank, complete with dents. I just need to get a fuel pump, and plug the sending unit bung. I've been watching another OEM tail on ebay for awhile, but I haven't pulled the trigger. Going back and fourth on a superbike race tail , or the oem. I really like the sound of the staintune exhaust, I love how nice and clean it looks as well. For a slip on the price comes in just under 800 bucks I believe. I decided to get another slip on for track use. Aden had a slip on for an 02 triumph sprint st 955. I trimmed on the mid pipe a bit and she bolted right up. I originally intended to have a mid pipe made, but thats now unnecessary. I'm going to move the spring tabs to line up properly at some point.. Its extremely quiet Thats all I have for now, I will update more as time goes on. - Springs need installed -rearsets need added -bar end mirrors

Back in october I picked up a mint 2000 sv650. Came with: fox shock, emulators/springs, staintune exhaust new bt016s solo seat cowl cool little 1/2 fairing galfer braided lines cbr master cyl HH pads I've put about 500 miles on the street on this thing so far, and I can't believe I didn't add one to the stable sooner. Hands down the most fun motorcycle I've ever ridden. Its light, nimble, just enough power and that v twin sound. What made this bike neat to me, is that It had lots of goodies, but looked stock. It had the stock undertail and turn signals, the exhaust looks stock as well. Well things normally go, I was unable to leave that alone. First day home I loved that the original owner added a temp gauge But as always I couldn't leave it alone. I looked for undertail kits, and didn't find much. One thing caught my eye. A printable template to make your own. So I printed it off, rounded up some aluminum, and here we go! Didn't turn out bad Once the under tail was finished up, The more I stared at the bike, I decided I wanted something to cover up the back side of the gauges. I looked at national cycle and a few other small windscreens, and had a hard time coming up with what I was after. They make a neat little screen for the Gen 2 and I was unable to obtain one, to see if I would be able to make it work on a gen 1. So I had an old smoked OEM sized screen for the fz1, and I started trimming and mocking up and ended up with this... Doesn't change the wind flow any, and it covered the back of my gauges, plus it was cheap! WIN!

This is how I heat my garage. I hang a box on the wall- about the same height as the top of a kerosene heater identical to that. My 24x24 is 75 degrees in no time

I've toyed with curing a shoulder and making my own ham. I've also tried to purchase an uncooked ham, so i could 100% smoke it myself. I've not found anywhere that has uncooked ham. I'd be curious to know what you did.

I'm doing two loins tomorrow! Those look good !
-
I'm sure it's fine. I try not to worry about what "they" say. Ha ha
-
this made me LOL! yes blue balls are partially the issue. The other part of the issue, is that "they" claim not allowing an engine to get up to operating temp does more harm than good. Moisture inside your engine doesn't get evaporated because its never to temp. Thus starting the corrosion process.

I did just under 100 yesterday on the sv- boy i love that thing.
