I would look for an extended cab. I had an S-10 with a regular cab and I hated not having the extra room. Also small trucks like the ranger really suck in the winter with no weight in the bed. If you can find a 4x4 in your price range you won't regret it.

Yes, you can get just the internet. I have Roadrunner for internet and Directv for my tv's.

Roadrunner is pretty good. It's faster than DSL in most areas, but you share bandwidth with your neighbors. If your neighbors are heavy bandwidth users your connection will slow down.

It's also not a bad idea to disable SSID broadcasting. If people can't see your wireless network they will be less likely to try accessing it.

You can root the Droid X, just can't load any custom roms yet. The boot loader is encrypted and no one has figured out a way around it yet. http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-droid-x/

You can also get the update.zip file and instructions from this site: http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/140721-how-force-official-android-2-2-froyo-update-motrola-droid.html This may be why some people are not receiving the OTA update.
