  1. I thought there was a law against you reproducing...

Congrats man, exciting times, and rough ones too.

get the baby on a schedule. It will be easier in the long run...

+1 on this! Being a new parent is rough, but fun. Having a schedule, not a strict one, but one that is easy for you does amazing things. My wife and I put our kid on one and she is pretty easy to take care of. She goes to bed on her own without us having to "rock" her to sleep. Been doing it since two months... And no, I do not know everything :D

  2. Roth IRAs are great if you know you want to save for retirement. However, if youve got a relatively small amount of money youre not sure you know what to do with, jumping in a Roth IRA probably isnt a good idea. Sounds like the OP just wants to make a few extra bucks and maybe have access to in the future (an option he would be penalized for with a roth IRA).

Reason for saying Roth IRA is because it should be the first thing to invest in. Don't go out there thinking you can beat the market with no knowledge. I have been putting away in a Roth for 5 years now, but we are not putting a lot in it as of right now. I am sure we put more in it then most people our age, and it is not a lot. I have it come out like a monthly bill, just like shitty said.

  3. Im in the same boat, but I am considering real estate. The market is too volatile right now.

At least real estate is tangible.

I was going to suggest buying a house, but it all depends on where. Market is great for buyers.

  4. At Fidelity for example, a lot of the mutual funds require a $2500 minimum to buy in.

I guess this is the one then...

I use E-Trade right now, and I think their trade cost have gone down to the lowest so far. If you trade a certain about a month it is free, but if not, it's like $9.99 a trade (transaction).

Another thing you can do to learn more about it is sign up for a virtual stock market. I have an account with Investopedia.com and it gives you an idea on buying and selling and things of that nature. It is free, but try to make logical decisions so you don't throw your money somewhere when you start putting it into real stocks. This stock simulator is all real time which is sweet too...

  5. Doesn't sharebuilder require quite a bit of money to even start out?

    Roth IRA.....

If you know nothing about stocks, read a lot of stuff before messing with it. I've been researching the stock market for over a year and still haven't invested because it is crazy out there. Some people do a lot if day trading if you want to gamble your money to try and get rich quick, but like I said, it's a gamble and you have to really watch the market everyday.

  6. I have been looking for something that gives good detail on motorcycles. I have a bike that is in pieces but seems like a nice bike to start on to learn a little more about motorcycles. I have worked on cars before, but never really done anything with a bike.

I was wondering if the Haynes manuals are worth it or not? I know they have some detail in them, but not sure if it will have what I need to put the bike back together and figure out what I need to order and things of this nature. Any advice would be great...

I have also seen the Clymer manuals, but it seems that the Haynes one has both the bikes that I have, in the one manual that need to be worked on.

  7. I'm sure it is good for any canine, but typically you only do this for wolf dogs. I know that rice is not a bad thing in dog food, but a lot of your crap dog food will have it as oe of the main ingredients, not good, from what I've heard. I can see if you have a dog you want to feed it raw once a week, but trying to do it everyday can be quite expensive. But to each his own.

  8. i want some of the shit youre smoking...i can drink city water outta the tap all day, but a small glass of well water makes me wanna puke it back up...i hate hate hate well water...if i shower in a house with well water, i feel dirtier coming out than i did going in...the smell is horrific, and the taste makes me wanna puke

 I meant it as stating that city water sucks as well. I have had well water once and felt sick the whole day. It smelled and tasted like rotten milk! My bad....

  9. That is where commercially processed food comes into play, for people like you... There are some very good food sources out there. Raw diet may be "great" for your "dog" but as you can tell, it is hard to find food. Science Diet, Eukanuba, and a few others I can't think of. All you need to look for is the first four ingredients. If they have rice in the first four, they suck and are just fillers. It's something like that.

  10. One down side to bottled water, and well water is that they don't have any flouride in them. My dentist's office recommends a flouride rinse to those that use bottled water, or well water. It's lik $11+ a bottle, too!

When I was a teen i had to brush with floride stuff, then swish it. That stuff was nasty. I think that is what it was. My gums were too weak or something like that. Whatever...
