Shit. The only folding that goes on at my house is in the laundry room, right after she gets me a beer and a sammich.

Well the trunks of my trees are all 20' from the power lines, and they are pine/conifer trees so they get smaller towats the top. The tallest of my trees are level with the power line and the branches are only inches long at that height - so that is how I know there is 20' separation from the wires to the closest branches. My neighbor's doomed trees have branches that are within a couple feet of the lines. One tree has a thick branch going right between the lower insight cable and upper power lines. I guess if I haven't heard anythign about it I'm safe - both my neighbors have been notified of the cutting. Can the power company enter my property to cut trees without notifying me? How wide is the right-of-way?
-
I'm sure they would like to cut ALL trees that pose a risk to the power lines. But that is the reason they gave my neighbor when they told him they were going to cut his trees down. The oak tree was the subject of negotiation and it is going to be pruney mercilessly rather than cut down.

In my case (and I just measured) the trunks of the trees are exactly 20' from the line of power poles and the tallest tree is about the same height as the power lines. This is on my property and not in the easement. Both of my neighbors' doomed trees are much closer to the power lines, much taller, and actually have branches within a couple feet of the power lines. I'm sure those trees are in their property. My neighbor's oak tree is actually about 30' from the power lines, but about 50' tall, so if it falls towards the road it will hit the power lines. That tree is well on his property and the power company are going to prune that one too. I'm pretty sure that if you are able to deny the power company the ability to prune/remove the tree then you are thereby accepting the liability created by the dangerous tree.

Anyone know the rules for how high/close a tree can be to a power line before the power company comes out the 'fix' it. My neighbor just south of me has been notified that one of the trees at the end of his driveway has to come down (40' tall, trunk is 10' from the power line) and a oak that is 50' tall and 20' from the power line has to be trimmed severely. My neighbor to the north is losing a tree that is also 40' tall and the trunk is 10' from the power lines. All along the road frontage of my proper there is a row of 8 pine trees that are all 25-35' tall and the trunks are 15' from the power line. Is there some magic formula they use to decide which trees stay and which get cut? Am I gonna be on the shit list in a couple of years? I understand the need to keep trees from the power lines, so if they have to be dealt with then it's for the best. Still, I'd hate to lose all my trees.

Maybe a couple of big concrete anchors into the ground and attach the chain to those?

http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=67058 I have GPS trackers on my bike and car.

Rode today. Loved it.

I had to fill my motorbike battery when I got it... It was a row of white plastic bottles that line up with the holes on top of the battery and you pour them all at the same time. Look about halfway down this page: http://w6rec.com/duane/bmw/battery/index.htm
-
As above... New battery first. And keep it on a batter tender when stored. I have a pigtail attached to my battery and I'm lucky enough to have a garage I can park the bike in. I plug it in overnight, never mind over winter...

I was sliding all over the place in my AWD cage. The bike might as well have it's ignition wired to C4 in terms of how dangerous it would have been to ride this morning.

So now my credit score has dropped, and I have two "potentially negative" hits on my credit report, both from this CC company (one his is on equifax and the other is experian). The entries both say; "Card reported lost or stolen". Then it says: "A potentially negative item on your credit report means a creditor has reported that you have not met the terms of your agreement." It makes no sense that some vendor losing CC data should make my credit score go down. Hmmm.
-
I just got an alert from my credit monitoring service that I had change to my credit report. There was a "Credit card lost or stolen" alert on my report. I called the CC company and they said that "A vendor was compromised last week so we proactively closed your account and transferred your balance to a new account with a new number." Anyone here had the same thing? Looking back at my account I've only used it to buy motorbike stuff and home improvement stuff. I was wondering if someone here had the same deal happen and maybe we can find out if we have a vendor in common.

And then it comes back a few seconds later. I can't turn the RDS off in this car. I'll just not listen to the blitz. RDS has been used for many many years in teh UK. I had an RDS radio back in the early 90s. However the messages cannot scroll etc by law due to distraction, so you just get the station name. I've caught myself looking at the RDS data for the song name, then looking back at it repeatedly waiting for it to update with the artist name. Then I realize I've spend 10 seconds lookin at the radio nore than the road. That scrolling data system is waaay too distracting. Add advertising into there and it's just sickening.

So I'm renting a new Chevy Cobalt while my cage is at the bodyshop. ASs I was driving home today I noticed that 99.7 The Blitz was using the song name feature to run adverts for Ricart. WTF? When did this happen. I had to turn the station off because seeing "NEW 2010 NISSANS AT RICART" flash up on the screen every 3 seconds was distracting.

Connecticut is an All-Party state also. All parties to the recording must be aware.

re: the original story. I would want to know if he was standing close enough to be interfering with the arrest, or making the police have to actively watch him to make sure he didn't suddenly jump in. There is an officer safety issue involved with a member of the public standing close to a fight. Anyone see that episode of cops where the officers and scrapping on the ground and some drunk guy walks up behind and tries to grab an officer's gun? I'd love to know if there was CCTV in the area. Was he 25' away and had the phone yanked out of his hand with no warning? Or was he 5' away and told 5 times to leave? Yes, you can film the police. Audio is dodgy, though. I've been told by the police to shut off my dashcam while they were investigating a traffic incident I was in a few years back. Ultimately the video exonerated me, but the trooper who was dealing with me at first had me shut it off during the investigation. But then immediately pointed out that his cruiser was recording and he had a remote mic. So it's ok for HIS dashcam to record but not MINE? The local prosecutor told me that I could have left it running with no repurcussions as it was not interfering with the police's ability to do their job, unless me recording him while he's trying to interact with me, or a random member of the public wandering in to an active scene to record. "As long as you're not holding some device while the officer is dealing with you directly, or you're so far away from the action that you're not interfering, you can record all you want."

I've not seen any suggestion the victim is looking to profit - just that he has a big load of medical bills. You can't get blood out of a stone. The concept is the same as putting a guy in jail for non-payment of child support. How much child supporting is he gonna do from there?
-
Depends on how much restitution the victim was hoping to get. I can see that if the banker is on the hook for millions then it would hurt the victim more to take away banker's ability to pay. ...But that's a call for the victim to make, no?

Just like Honda building its US market cars in the US I guess. What's good for the Goose is good for the Gander. Now if they shut down US production and start selling India-assembled bikes in the US they need to quit calling themselves an American Icon.

I got the same effect with cat crap. I get one ride. That mean TO work. Fogging up on the way home.

Are the injuries more minor than they would have been without the airbag?

Better than being hit in the face with a metal bar.... By Mike Tyson. And at least your ears stay intact.
