  1. Sure, post up your progress and highlights
  2. once the wife is done watching Tivo'd GREEK, I'll watch the partialy Tivo's SoA
  3. Welcome to the paved side of the 2 wheel world
  4. I am still in for this ride, looks like no work related travel for me til next week
  5. Depends on the funds over the winter, maybe redo the clear coat on the engine cases on the 1982 GS 850. And then actually do something with the 2 Solex bikes I have.....
  6. That place rocks!! Cheerwine in Ohio!! I normally have to drive to Charlotte to get Cheerwine!!
  7. I have a cruiser and a Kat 600. I got the Kat as my first sportbike becuase it was available, affordable and in great shape. THis bike will not set any land speed records, but it is comfortable and kinda "peppy". Drawbacks are it is air cooled and has carbs. The bikes with injection just start it up and leave. The Kat takes a few moments to warm up. Depending on your age, might be cheaper insure a Kat compared to a liter bike.
  8. Ok, So I'll have time order OR decals for both bikes... I should be able to post a flyer up at Dougherty's Motorcycle to help advertise this.
  9. That will work. That Panini's has plenty of room inside. As this gets closer to happening, I can ask my friend that works at a local motorcycle repair shop if they can offer door prizes.
  10. So a pre-ride meeting spot at Ohio Motorcycle 8:15 AM, leave at 8:30 AM?
  11. 9 AM at Nelson's works for me. Maybe set aside 45 minutes for others to arrive then leave Nelson's at 9:45-10AM?
  12. Likwid, maybe you can switch with Brian?...just kidding
  13. So, factoring in everybodys travel time, when would be a good meeting time, and then a leaving to start time? I figure it would take maybe 45 minutes for me to get 422 to nelson. I will look on the map to see exactly where the meeting spot will be. I think this time i'll take to Katana.
  14. I am open, but seems to make sense to start the farthest away and work our way back. Just a reminder about factoring in gas stops due to the average of about 100 mile range
  15. Seems like i am wrong on the location of the northbound right hander. If we start the ride at Ohio Motorcycle, we can stop at Viaduct park in bedford, then catch the metropark to Bridalvail falls. Only concern at Bridalvial is the gravel parking and the slight hike to actually see the falls. So maybe we can skip that one depending on the number of people? Then finish the metro park at Dunham, a quick juant down Tinker Creek Road, to canal and turn left. (away from Quaker steak and lube) There is that sweet part of Canal ( just after Pleasant Valley road bridge) where the speed limit changes from 35 to 50. That should point us towards the correct direction to stop at Brandywine falls. From there, I am not sure how to link back to the other stops or Chagrin River road. We can plan the rest in a private message?
  16. And the Bedford Metro park between Egbert rd and Dunham road is a nice road too. The section of the metro park that is between the 2 golf courses. Also in Bedford is Viaduct Park, nice water fall and stone arches, off of Taylor road
  17. I like traveling north on Chagrin River Road to catch that nice right hand sweeper just before the bridge into "downtown" Hunting Valley. I almost wish we could run an "Isle Of Mann" type race down river road.It is not too heavily police patrolled, but I don't want to ride like "that guy" and give sportbikers a bad name.
  18. Here are some teaser pics ( Thank you Kelli) of Squires Castle and Chagrin River road:
  19. If I am not in LA,the 10th is good for me
  20. Likwid, I think that was the same person, twice? <<I know someone else that had to pick up their bike recently... but I'll let them chime in >>
  21. Garage bar has free parking lot in the back, plus the "sidewalk" parking. There is the corner bar I go to, decent parking lot, but the inside will crowded with 60 or more people. I am glad to hear people are smart when riding and not drinking.
  22. At least you were able to get the bike upright. I think the TLC channel has one of those little statues for that Life Lesson.
  23. How about Garage Bar on West 25th? I dont know anyone there but I am sure if we call ahead we could get discounts on food beverages? They have a bike night on Wednesday night? If did Peninsula, maybe that place accross the street from Winking Lizard, I thik it is called Fishers? They have a large parking lot?I can also talk to my friend Perry and see if the motorcycle shop he works at can offer some door prizes?
  24. I have a friend that owns a bar in Cleveland hts, but the 2 issues: It is in Cleveland Hts, and the parkinglot is in the back of the building ( bikes will be out of eye sight)and you have to pay like a $1 for 2 hours. HOw about a pavillion in the Metro park? Other then the no alcohol rule in the park?Personaly, I dont drink when i ride, but might be a turn off for some. Or I also know the owner of a partycenter in Kirtland near rte 6 and 306? Large parking lot. We might have to kick in a few bucks for cleanup?
