Here is a youtube review of the Blackhawk Serpa holster, the features and how the release lever functions. Around the 8 minute mark, shows using silicone spray on the top rail part of the holster and the release lever to aid in quick draw. I seen on a forums conflicting information regarding the PPQ fitting inside a Serpa holster for a P99. If you were closer to Cleveland, I would meet you up at Stonewall to try it out. The PPQ 9 MM rocks I took mine out yesterday. Best trigger feel, pull and break I have felt on stock, "out of the box" gun.(like a Glock trigger, but better )Just looking for a holster now. Rumors on the Walther forum is that the "new" PPQ will have a 5 inch barrel, top slide is ported, either to save weight or compensated ( not sure about the barrel ) And will have the"normal" mag release button on the grip, not on the trigger gaurd like the current model. I am sure this new model will be announced at the SHOT show 2013. I suspect the wife will want to "indefenately borrow" the PPQ, so either I will wait and see what new PPQ will be or look for a Shield in 9mm. MAYBE a glock in 10mm, just because.

How about a CZ-82? This is the same as a CZ-83, but the calibers are different.

Blackhawk lists the P99, not the PPQ. The P99 looks close in form factor to the PPQ. I listed the price for reference, definatly not going to shop for the cheapest, but for the best overall based on experience I can call / email them to see if they have updated the lineup to include the PPQ.

The Shield does feel nice. I was not able to find one locally at all. The only one I was able to actually hold was at Dale's shop when I was visiting. I think I liked the Shield better then the Nano.

I am looking for a conceal carry holster for a Walther PPQ. My current holster is a belt carry medium "universal" Uncle Mike's nylon style with thumb break. Depending on which jeans I am wearing, due the belt loop location, the holster rides a closer to the front, almost at 2:45 position instead of 3 o'clock position. I am considering getting this Fobus paddle holster with the Roto option to adjust the angle. It appears that a paddle holster might be easier to remove if needed? Thoughts on Paddle vs Belt? RIght now and soon, i think the bolt gun will be better value due to the inflated prices on AR parts

IF there are AR stuff available next year, maybe you can assist me when i get to building mine? Or i might do the bolt action .308 rifle first.

If this just started today, you can try rolling back to a previous Restore point for a know good time, like a week ago, ( assuming you have automatic restore point enabled)

Did you go to B and T?

I took the Walther PPQ and the HI-Point 9C to the range this morning. I field stripped and cleaned / lubed both pistols Sunday night. I brought white box Whinchester 100 value pack and Blazer brass ammo. I started with the Hi-Point first. I bought this gun used. I noticed after loading the mag with ammo, the nose of the bullets pointed downward. I pushed the top bullet down alittle and the nose pointed upward. I put the mag in the pistol, racked the slide and fired the first round. The spent case was ejected, but the second round did not load because it was pointing downward. I dropped the mag, removed the rest of the 9 rounds and loaded only 5. The nose pointed up. Racked the slide, fired the round, spent case ejected, but did not pick up the second round due to the nose pointing downward. Ok, so the mag is having an issue.Changed to mag #2 and to Blazer ammo, loaded 5 round of ammo and the same issue, would not load the second round due to the nose pointing down. Ok, enough of the hi-point, i'll work on that later. And the sight were off, shooting way low. Previous owner must have jacked with the sights. Now the PPQ is just AWESOME. Ran flawless with either ammo. I will have to get used to the "quick reset" trigger. This is very different then my Browning High Power. With the PPQ, I was still releasing the trigger completely ( full travel forward). I was able to fire off a few rounds without complete letting the trigger travel all the forward ( all High Power like) but I will have to get the muscle memory with this new pistol. I noticed I was shooting a little low and left. I did not bring any tools with me, or I would have tried the two other backstraps included with the PPQ. I think I am going to like the PPQ, just need more range time with it.

I will check with the wife to see if the 20th is free, so I am still a "maybe".

It would interesting to know if the guns used in CT were stored in a safe, or just under the bed. Even if there was a safe, it is possible the son knew how to access it, or forced the mom to open it?

I have 2011 Legacy 2.5i Premium with the CVT transmission. THis one has heated seats and heated outside mirror. THis is my first Subaru. Great mileage, usually 32 MPG and up. A summer highway drive to Charlotte, 77 south and the A/C on the entire trip, averaged 38 MPG at 70-75 MPH. The only negative is loading anything into the trunk. WIth the decklid short and not too tall, even loading a Xerox paper size box, you have to angle it in, and the top of the box scrapes the rubber weather seal. In hindsight, I should have bought an Outback for the more room, and higher ground clearance. I don't know the specs for towing on the Forester, but that might be option as a "small Outback"
