  1. Or Sunday, we can go to the outdoor A and A range in Garretsville ( near Nelson Ledges), but they dont rent pistols there. But at least you would have more distance with the 10/22
  2. Speedytriple might know, Plan B, call them. I rented a SPringfiled XDm there and the gun had several jams. I am not sure how often the rental guns are cleaned, so hopefully you will a good rental experience. Speedy, bring you Buckmark
  3. Now that my FEG 9mm is functioning, I kinda like it. I made one huge improvement - I replaced to wood grips that came with the pistol to the Browning hipower contour grips. Note pistol is unloaded for the pics. I needed to file down a bit of the plastic on the inside of the grip to fit the frame. The threaded hole on the frame was just about a half screw diameter off to allow the grips to just bolt on. I did not want to just drill out the hole on the grip, since the molded screw hole is counter sunk. I tried using sandpaper, a file and even the wife's emory nail file board. Still wasn't removing the plastic in the way it needed to be removed. So I borrowed a Dremel and removed the plastic. I was concerned about the dremel since I did not want to melt the plastic or cause it to discolor on the outside of the grip. But it worked out fine. Before: AFTER: Range time this weekend at Stonewall anyone?
  4. I will get a CZ 82 in the next few weeks ( DEc 9th seems to be the day for Lincoln Electric people to make purchases) , and still undecided on the .22 LR pistol. I am working installing new Browning factory original Contour grips on my 9mm FEG. I have to do some slight filing on the inside of the grip to fit the FEG frame. I also repainted my sights, using Testor flat white model paint. I used a toothpick to dip into the bottle of paint and just added a drop to each sight. Now they are super white. I also have some glow in the dark paint that i plan to add a drop over the white, just to see if they will light up kinda like Tru-glo night sights.
  5. I am a bit behind the times. When i watch TV, it is on my Sony Trina-tron 37 inch i bought 14 years ago. The foot print on this is about 3 feet wide and 4 feet deep. Only weights about 200 pounds.
  6. Thanks Speedy!! I just watched a Youtube video, the GSG requires an allen wrench for take down and feild strip, probably not a deal breaker. It is a 1911 style, but has that dang grip safety. So, the ISSC is looking better, but have not held one. The Ruger MK3 looks neat, but well over $400
  7. So I take it you like the ISSC? Does it have the Glock style U shape sights? I assume cleaning / take down just like a Glock? ISSC's website is kinda lacking information.
  8. We should plan an OR shooting party to try out other guns, before the holidays. See my 22LR pistol thread too, since a few of us are looking for opinions on pistols.
  9. The CZ is on my short list. I liked the excellent grips, and nice trigger. All steel too. I fired an XD M ( in 9 MM ) , so might not be exactly the same as the XD Tactical, but I was not a fan of the grip safety and the narrower feeling grips. I like the CZ over XD.
  10. Winter is approaching, so I am looking for a .22LR semi-auto pistol for use at the indoor range. My budget is about $350. I am considering the Browning Buckmark Camper, the GSG-1911, and the ISSC Glocking looking pistol. I have shot the Buckmark, so at least I know what to expect. I am interested in the style and price of the GSG-1911, but don't know anyone that has fired one. The ISSC pistol looks interesting too, but don't know where to get one. If anyone has fired the GSG or the ISSC, let me know your thoughts. Browning Buckmark: GSG1911: ISSC
  11. Menard's will have this one on sale too for $399 28 gun safe, probably counting pistols. Not sure on the "electronic" lock part
  12. This will be on sale at Lowes for $297. I think i got mine last year for $265 I have this one and it is already too small for me http://www.lowes.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10151&catalogId=10051&cId=SEARCH&productId=1242371&cm_mmc=SCE_shoppingcom-_-Shoppingcom-_-Shoppingcom-_-Centurion%20by%20Liberty%20Safe%2012%20Cu.%20Ft.%20Black%20Gun%20Safe
  13. SNiper and Speedy, if you guys go to Stonewall after 5 sometime, give me a call, I just got back from Stonewall and put another 100 rounds through my FEG 9mm, still working great. I got Browning original contour grips, but have to file down a seam before they will fit the FEG.
  14. I have my welder generator posted on craigslist. I used a Gmail account that I rarely check. I was not getting any response after checking that Gmail account daily. I checked that email account today, and there is a 2 week old email that asks "do you still this welder powerarc 4000". It appears that part of the title of the ad was just copy/pasted and turned into a form of a question, instead of saying "do you still have THE welder."
  15. If it was ammo for 12 guage that I can use for skeet, I would be interested. I'll have to check what the rule was for ammo at Southern Cuyahoga sportsman range in Medina. I think they did not allow anything over 7 shot? A and A range does not have any restriction on 7 size. How about the 9 MM bulk purchase again? ( now that my 9 is working nicely )

    Thanks!

I plan to go to watch at least one long range match at Camp Perry. The only non 22 caliber rifle i have is a mosin nagant. Mid summer, I hope to have my bolt action .308 rifle. SAvage or Weatherby, but not sure. Somehow, the need for a Glock 17 is currently taking a back seat to a Horton crossbow. Maybe since my current 9mm is completely functional, the pistol need has been meet.
  17. When I hear polymer, I think Glock. New bills rolled out in Canada, to help prevent counterfeiting.: http://www.bankofcanada.ca/banknotes/bank-note-series/polymer/ Not that i spend much time in Canada, but still interesting.
  18. really small runways for really small planes?
  19. I will probably skip going to the bike show, and just go to Buddy's.
  20. That had to hurt big time falling on the arrow from the crossbow. Not sure if the guy actually got bit by the zombie that was munching on leg/ boot when he woke up from his dream-like state, so that might be another direction for the storyline. If he is infected, would they throw him into the barn with the other zombies in case there is a cure?
  21. I wont have a chance to go this weekend.
  22. Thanks Kawi........ food for thought
  23. Update time. Last week, I ordered few items direct from Browning. Got a new extractor spring, recoil spring and firing pin spring and some new roll pins. I installed the parts and today went to the range. 200 rounds and no jams. I suspect the extractor spring was the issue. The extractor spring i removed was only half the lenght of the new spring. So I still want a Glock 17.
  24. I have learned alot in the last year and half. Going from zero knowledge ( ask Likwid) to comfortable in making purchases. Have you decided if you want a revolver or a semi-auto? A note on rental range guns, probably depends on each range, but most guns I rented at Stonewall did not function very well. I suspect the guns were not cleaned often or constantly rented, so you may not truely get a fel for how a certain model may function.
