Question, if you have conceal carry licence, and you are on a motorcycle, how is that treated? can you keep your firearm hidden/concealed in a holster, just like you would in a car?

Thus the same requirements apply to licensees who carry a honadgun while on a motorcycle"

This year wont quite be the same without the "dances with sheep" duo of Koz and Fonzie.

I usually spend less then 10 minutes at any bike night. I'll make a quick lap around the parking lot then hook up with others to ride.I dont drink when i ride, so "beverage" specials do not appeal to me. I have seen the Coors Light and Jager girls at one event, that was ok, but after seeing all the umbrella girls at AMA races, beer girls are no big deal.

I noticed that when leaving said bike night location, it is mandatory to hammer on the throttle to let other know you are leaving.

I would stick around if there was good food and reasonable free space to be social.

This might be a cool section of the forum. There are many areas to focus on when selecting a firearm. I will share my thoughts on what worked for me. Your results may vary.

When I started my search for my first firearm, I knew that I wanted a home defense shotgun. I have not been for or against guns, but honestly, just woke one day and thought due to the economy and for the piece of mind, I needed something. Asking a few friends, the choice was between a mossberg 500 and a Remington 870. BOth of these are pump action. I knew I could not afford anything fancier, such as the autoloading type of shotgun. I selected the 870 based on reviews, price and I knew a few people that had one.

SO, after that "need" was covered, I wanted a target shooting rifle. The only bit i knew was the difference between a bolt action and a semi-auto rifle. I selected a Savage Arm bolt action 22LR. I liked the fact that with the bolt action, the chamber is not loaded until I provide the feedback of pulling the bolt back to eject the spend round and then push forward to load a live round. This bolt action thing was fine, until I got to shoot a semi auto 22LR ( a Remington 597 from another member here on OR). Now that I had a sense of shooting and understanding of gun safety, the semi auto looked like the next choice, so I picked up a Marlin 795. So far, total money spent on both 22 lr rifles is about $300, including scopes and carry cases.

Once I got my target rifle, I then looked into a pistol. So then, I had to look at revolver versus the semi auto, single action versus double action, brand names and caliber. Ask questions, talk to people and ask why they selected what they have. I picked up a used FEG 9mm Browning hi-power clone for $200. It is single action, semi auto,14 round, fit my hand and the price was right.

Then to wrap this up, I have turkey hunting shotgun and a skeet shotgun.

Next I will be on a quest for a hunting rifle.

Maybe since I dont have children, I look at the world just for me. So I alot of decisions are pretty easy for me. I dont have to figure out safe places for the kids to play, or school systems, or how to explain and teach values to kids. I just kinda roll with it

i went a little nuts this year. I promise to add only 3 or 4 more to my collection in 2011. Each firearm serves a purpose, such as home defense, hunting, target shooting, skeet shooting. So depending on what you want to do, you might end up with a few.

The indoor range near me has guns for rent. However, appearently the rentable range guns are not cleaned all that often. I had a less then operational 9 mm Springfield XD that I rented. IF the rented guns function, it is one way to try out the fit, and feel before buying. Depending on where you live, might be able to meet up with some members here and see if they will let you try what they have.

I went from not owning a firearm at the end of 2009, now I have quite a few. Guns seems to multiply.

Dry firing wont hurt it, dry firing with a round in the chamber is another story.

Then it becomes just a plain old regular everyday fire, without a mention of humidity levels

Umm, wow, I am sure this started out as " What's the worst the can happen" then ....At what point do you realize that "hey, maybe i might hit that vehicle" and then when you do, say "well maybe the vehicle owner wont notice".....

Probably not a good idea to dry fire a firearm, and also NOT check if it is loaded.

I learned to not pull the trigger on a firearm unless you want anything you are pointing at, dead.

I bet this is a seasonal item for Lowes, I dont think they normally carry gun safes?

Looks like there is a different "weekly ad" on lowes.com. The safe is not listed on this current ad. I do know the item number for the safe is 292952.

I ordered mine yesterday. The lowes i went to was out of stock, but was getting a shipment of 4 in this week. The store allowed me to reserve one of the 4.

Lowes home improvement store has a Liberty Centurion "fire and security" safe (12 gun safe) on sale for $297.
