  1. Scroll up to top of page, copy title of thread, paste into google. I did not notice that Casper has the link in the very first post.

I wanted to go to the actual website. I was not searching for this thread.

  2. Well, i suppose during the un-zombie-fying, they could decide to look for family members and humanize them.

There was a scene in the first episode where morgan, at a house, put the rifle crosshairs on a woman but did not shoot. Possibly his wife?

  3. I hope they dont ruin the show by finding/creating some airborn cure for the zombie-ness. Then the gang will spray the cure from the top of the building and spend the rest of the series un-zombie-fying everyone.

  4. Ok, so it took the entire show to get the group to CDC. Not sure where plot line is going with Morgan, the guy with the other walkie-talkie.

I did ask the wife if a day after I was bitten by a zombie, if she would either shoot or pick axe me, she said she would shoot me. Note to self, don't get bit by a zombie.

  5. Reminder Dick's Sporting Goods has a sale on ammo Friday 11/26 from 5AM-2PM. Buy a box of ammo, get second box half off, requires the coupon from the sale ad in Thursday's paper ( disclaimer that second box must be equal or lesser value) and limit 6 boxes. Assuming that Dicks prices are close to Walmart prices, for right about $100, I can get 400 rounds of Winchester 9mm and 1000 rounds of Federal 22 LR.

  6. I am still working on expanding my beer taste, just dont want to take a chance on buying something i wont like and "waste" my beer money.

2 mass produced beers I like, Landshark and Bud American Ale

Smaller brews = Fathead's Starlighter, Thirsty Dog's 12 Dogs of Christmas, and Abetia S.O.S

I do plan to try 4 Loco this weekend.

  7. Thanks for all the replies. Confusing things for me, Vance outdoors has the XD M 9mm on sale for $529/.......local place has the same springfield for the low regular price of $725...ouch!! I could take a taxi cab to Columbus and still have money left over instead of buying local.

Good point on the Glock 17 and getting a 22LR conversion kit.

So, if i dont go with the glock, then i will look at the Buckmark and the Neos...

  8. Ok, I gave up on the Glock 17 and will be picking up a 9mm FEG P9R ( Browning hi-power clone) Saturday.

So back to a .22LR target pistol, I have not heard much about GSG (German Sport Guns). They have a model called the GSG 1911, looks nice.

So, I am thinking in this order for a $300-ish .22LR pistol:

    Buckmark Camper

    Berretta Neos

    and this GSG 1911.

If I had deeper pockets, i would get a Hammerili Trailside.

Has anyone owned or fired a GSG 1911?

Here is a link to a marketing video, as they claim "Hotties shooting GSG's"

  9. <<normally, after you've purchased your first gun, most people generally go insane with lust and start buying handfuls of them>>

This is true, I picked up 3 firearms this year and am working on getting a 9MM and then a CCW piece. Then I would like a hunting rifle, a plinking 22LR Browning Buckmark Camper, possible a revolver of some sort, a shotgun for skeet shooting. I am glad my motocycle hobby is less expensive.

  10. I was hoping too that the other people would be found alive. I don't know why people do what they do. I know we are supposed to follow innocent till provern guilty, but having a missing, tied up girl in your basement does not look good.

If this guy is guilty, i am thinking a cheese grater, salt and gallon of anti-freeze is a good start for this guy.

  11. Thank for the offer on Sunday shoot, But I wont be able to make it. I am in no rush to make a purchase, so i will try out a few other 9mm models.

I might still get that FEG P9M, just to have:

  12. I will have to look at Glock site to see the different model numbers.

The G26 is the subcompact and the G19 is the compact.

Almost tempted for the G34 competion model...but probably out of my price range

  13. I am looking for a 9 mm semi auto pistol. I have up to $500 to spend.

At first I thought I wanted a 40 Cal, but after actually seeing a 9 MM bullet, I think if you got hit one you would feel it. ANd the price of 9mm ammo is less expensive then 40 cal

So, back on track, I got to fire a friends Glock 17 (Gen 3) at the range last night. VERY VERY nice. I loved the feel of the trigger, and the grip fit in my hand.

I rented a SPringfield XD9 at the range. I am sure it was because it was a rented gun, but had 2 jams in one mag., would not eject the spent round.

The third gun I got to shoot was a FEG P9M ( 9 MM) semi auto, clone or knock-off of a Browning high power. This gun felt nice in my hand. Trigger felt decent, but not like the Glock. Possibly due to Walmart purchased Federal ammo, but this gun also had an issue. The spend round casing and the new bullet from the magizine got all jammed up in the chamber. I had to pull back on the slide and shake the gun so the spent casing would fall out. I am not sure of what the feet per second of the Federal ammo, but maybe not powerful enough to create enough force to eject the spend round? ( I do realize it is a clone of a "HIGH POWER" model)

So, I can purchase this FEG pistol for $200, comes with an Uncle Mike holster and one extra 14 round mag, or do I save up and get a GLock 17? I am not concerned about a compact firearm, at least not yet.

I probably should have just asked about motor oil......

    Thanks for the input

  14. ^^^ I just noticed the last page of the Gander MTN sale ad in the news paper.$249 and you choice of 12 or 20 gauge, wood or synthetic stock 26 or 28 inch barrel. Seems like a great deal.

I currently have home defense 870 with 18 inch barrel. I thought i would purchase another barrel so i can hunt turkey and also shoot skeet. I have not looked into used barrels, but a new 28 inch barrel from Remington is about $250 just for the barrel.

Plus, i do not want my home defense gun all beat up and knocked around out in the woods and at the range. So, I plan to get a second 870 shotgun that I can hunt with and shoot skeet. The home defense 870 will stay as a home defense shotgun. I will take it to the range just to cycle rounds through it.
