Life is good, pics to follow.Just had to share.
Just got back from a great vacation. Spent some time in Birmingham Alabama staying with family. Great BBQ, poolside beverages and fun. Went to Barbers Motorsports Park to see the Legends of Motorsports vintage grand prix cars. I got to meet MARIO ANDRETTI!! Way cool!!
On the way home, stopped at the Dragon (route 129). Very nice road to ride. I think it is actually a good thing that the one end of the dragon is closed due to the rockside. No through traffic or semi's. Great views of the mountains. A boat load of sportbikes, miatas, and BMWs. After I passed Killboy's photo spot, I thought of taping a sign to the Jeep that said " Live to drive, drive to live" since I was in a vehicle and not on a motorcycle.
Route 28 is also a great road to ride.
Since I had a rental vehicle, a Jeep, I took a road less traveled, Parson Branch Road. A "primative" road. This road is 8 miles of a narrow path. Hey its a rental, so all was good. Only drawback is no cell phone service. The fastest speed was like 10 MPH due to the narrow road, water crossings and no real straight sections.
Thanks for reading..

I have enough room on the side cover of my 850 to add a badge from a Ford F150 emblem. So, if you do the math, 850 + `150 = 1000. So I would have the only 1982 GS "1000" L with shaft drive.
Must be true since the decal/ badge says so.
I also like the Honda Civic's with the Interga Type R badges too, but that is probably another thread.

Seems like a good time, other then the weather at times. So for me, either a track bike or an autocross car......

This sounds great. I will have to give my 82 850 a good shake down ride, but Suzi should be dependable enough to make this ride. JaysonL and Komso, are you guys in? ( need to get cell number of person with truck/trailer for possible roadside assistance along the way, if needed, PM me). I have not served but did have a tear in my eye the first time i visited the wall. Every name on that wall was somebodys son, brother, husband, father.

If I was not 715 miles south I would be at this event. I will be at NEO the meet and greet.

I tried this on my boat and it did not work out too well.

Wow I am on vacation at Barbers Motorsports park for the vintage road race, sorry to hear about your family. Glad to hear everyone is mostly ok
I lost a college friend to a drunk driver. My friend was on his motorcycle and the drunk driver went left of center on purpose to hit the motocycle. The driver only got 7 years. WTF? I wanted the judge to order the driver to write a check for one penny to my friends mother every year on the date of his death as a reminder of what he caused. The judge denied that request.
It seems the drunk drivers always survive without injury because they dont have time to tense up before impact.

Hi I'm Brandon, 4th member of the square jerk checking in.
Nothin wrong with a couple guys in a Duramax doing a little experimenting...

Can i take a pic of my car in the location of the current "TAG" spot?
-
It looked like as the rider was twisting to see the officer, did he have on a watch or a braclet on his right wrist that caught on his shirt and made it seem like his shirt was lifting up a bit?

I know where that tag is, just have to get out on the bike and TAG it......( this is about like 50 feet from a green bridge?)

lol. When I was in the Army we would qualify with our rifles and the ranges were set up so each shooter was just a couple of feet away. It really sucks when you are laying in the prone position and the other guys brass lands on your neck and you just sit there and let the shit burn you because it's a timed qualifying event. As soon as that one would cool off, another would land on your neck.
Last Saturday morning was not a great day for anything outdoors. I had my hood from my Carhart jacket up and the brass still got me.
I am going Wednesday with my dad so he buy his own first target rifle, a Remington 597. He has called me like 12 times since Saturday talking about it.
Isn't dad supposed to get the sons into the hobby, not the other way around?

I don't have kids, this video seems wrong. How much of it is the parents attempting to live out their dreams though the kids?
If it was ballet type dance or gymnastics, ( other then the skimpy clothes) that would be more of a "sport" and not practice for "dancing for dollars" later in life.

I dont know much about the C-bus area, but for outdoor ranges near my house, I either have to drive almost an hour south to a public range and pay $10 an hour, or I can drive almost an hour northeast to my friends place and shoot for free, plus bring food and beverages. Dang city dweller i am.....

Welcome. Jayson got the Katana from me.
I dont have any other bikes for sale, but i do have a white and red Teknic riding jacket, size 48, never used, $50.
Pics shortly

Maybe too, a raffle/auction at the next meet and greet? I dont want over step bounds, but if enough people kick in like $5 or $10 bucks, good things can happen.

SWEET!! Great news!! It seems you a tad excited?....

Speedy, it fun getting out to the shooty place and playing with the bang button. I took my father and my uncle to the range. It was cool with my dad. Normally the fathers bring sons out to the range, this time I brought my dad instead of him bringing me. I started dad out shooting the Savage bolt action 22LR. He thought it was ok, but a pain to have to cycle the bolt after firing. Then I handed off my Marlin semi-auto. He loved that he did not have to do anything other than pull the trigger and it was ready to shoot again.
I think we can probably get a group rate if we called ahead and had enough people to go, assuming we had to go to a public place and pay per hour.
I would also like to try the skeet/trap shooting. I am not what makes the different in the labeling of skeet vs trap, maybe the size of the orange "clays"? But i would probably have to get a different barrel for my Rem 870. Currently has a cylinder bore 18 or 18.5 inch barrel.

Hopefully the bike is not in her way during sandwich-making time.

<<You work at Lincoln Scott? Wasn't American Chopper out there about 5 years ago, makin' you guys a bike & filming it's delivery?>>
We had a bike on display built by Leroy Thompson cycles. The owner of the bike shop uses Lincoln Electric welders.
I think the OCC guys built a bike for Miller welder

That is how that Ansel Adams guy took that pic of Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico, 1941. He parked his car, put the camera on the roof of the car, clicked the shutter one time and left.
