    Life on Campus

It has been a few years since I was in college. I was at Iowa State U. Nice campus. How does anything productive get done on campus? Soooo many distractions, my neck hurts. Between looking at all the bikes and the co-eds. I see why there are bunch of motorcyclists on college campus. More parking for bikes then for cars.. Just thought I would share....
  6. I feel for you...remember the good times.
  7. I would offer to play, but my job requires last minute travel. I would not want to commit to a team and then not be there to actually play.
  8. Done so if any fluid spills, the wristband catches it.
  9. I normally use Sunoco since there is a station on my way to work. I use 87 octane in both the car and bike.
  10. That was the "Super-jock" series. I have the football kicker and they also made a basketball player. The best toy ever was the "Mr. Quaterback".Basically a footbal catapult. I suppose it was made for lonely kids. It was this green plastic box that has gigantor spring inside. Push down on the arm, load the football, set the timer, pull the pin and run out and catch the ball. If you did not use the supplied tent stakes to hold it into the ground, the box would do 4 or 5 flips when it launched the football. I figured if this thing could launch a football, what else could it launch? Items like apples, rocks and pine cones. It will even launch eggs at the "high school" kids next door. I did a quick Google search, and the Mr Quaterback toy from back then does not look like the currert version.
  11. The Stompers, battery powered 4X4 cars.
  12. I still have most of my toys. Anyone old enough to remeber the Weebles? And not the large ones we have today. I still have the the Fisher-Price farm, featuring the barn the made a "mooing" sound when the door was open. Then I moved on to the fisher-Price "Adventure-People" I have the TV crew with working camera, the AJ Foyt red van, with indy car on the open trailer. I safari Jeep with a canoe on top, and helicoptor. A bunch of GI Joe figures and vehicles, Starwars figures, Buck Rogers figures, hot wheels. Kenner vehicles featuring "SSP" (Super sonic power) These are the vehicles that required a plastic zip tie looking thing that was used to wind up the motor. I have a Tyco slot car track that had one all black and one silver Trans-Am with working head lights. And the Lionel metal train set that had a smoke stack that used asprin size tables to make real smoke. The only toy I do not still have is my "Rock-em Sock-em" robots. They meet their fate the same day I got my Crosman 760 power master BB gun. Same for my many 1/24 Monogram user assembled model cars.

    Ride Tomorro

Looks like that is the BP station on the corner of 82 and 21 in Brecksville?
  14. Great job!! And a bazillion hours of work too I bet. Amazing how clean your 177K engine was.
  15. correct, non -S, looks like this one:
  16. I do have my eye on my friends 2003 SV1000. I went to the dealer with him when he bought it new.The bike MIGHT have 4000 miles on it. He is looking to downsize, so I am waiting for him to sell it to me.
  17. Well, I used to have a black 1990 Kat 600. It looked exactly like JaysonL's bike.......It was my first sport bike. I bought it because it was a Suzuki and it was under $2500 when I bought it. My next sportbike will probably be a SV650. Bratkar is taking the class for MC license, so she will end up with maybe a Ninja 250 as her first bike.
  18. I am such a sap, i am looking a Jake puppy pictures.....That is kinda rough-in-a-good-way song.People without pets wont understand.
  19. I did not want to thread jack, but though I could share my experience to help you with yours. If I can figure out where Pataskala, OH is, I'll buy ya a beer. Or if you will be at the Roll on Columbus event, I'll meet you there.
  20. Feed Jake was by a band called Pirates of the Mississippi. The steak dinner with Jake was about 15 years ago, i still remember every second of it.
  21. Do something special. The 2 worse parts was being in the room when he got "the shot" and then driving home alone, to come home to put away the food bowl and pick up the dog toys. I currently have a 13 year old cocker spanel named King Kinser Outlaw, named after the sprint car driver, Steve Kinser. Kinser has a lump on his side, can hardly see and hear, and needs to be carried up steps. Cool story, I actually had Steve Kinser sign the AKC "family tree" papers. Just like I did with Jake, I will make a shadow box for Kinser's collar, leash, picture and Akc papers when he passes.
  22. Aww man, sorry to hear this. It will get easier to deal with over time. Remember the good times. I have had several dogs and cats over the years and I cried each time they passed. The night before I had to put down my shepard/huskey mix ( named Jake), I made 2 large steaks, one for me and one for Jake. I sat with him on the floor and we both had steak and beer. I figured the beer would not do any harm. So even now, I still get a bit choked up when i hear that older country song called "Feed Jake".
