    Other news..

The Miata has been around for 20 years, tons of good used and new aftermarket parts.
  3. I still read the car mags and watch Top Gear. My father had his share of nice cars, Chevelles, GTO's and Chargers. Then sometime in the 70's as the family grew, dad bought a 1974 Ford County Squire station wagon. Dad did get to relive his past in 1989 and bought an IROC Camaro, which I took to my senior prom. In high school (20 years ago) I had 2 1972 Cutlass Supreme's and 1978 Pontiac Grand Prix circle track race car. I raced in the "Detroit Iron" ( spectator class) at Lorain, Sandusky and Barberton speedway. My wife also raced, she had a 1970 Chevelle circle track car. We never got to race against each other. My father in law was a long time raceer too. There was a time when there was 7 Chevelles in his driveway. If I could go back in time and save some of those Chevelle we converted into race cars, I would be very happy. I am currently helping my dad look for a 1955 or 56 Chevy. A few times a year I'll go to the weekly car show in Solon just to see what is out there, trend wise. I do like the "rat rod" style of cars and the pin-up/rockabilly scene.

    Other news..

There is now one less bike in my stable. I delivered the 1990 Katana (Katie) to JaysonL today. I still have my 1982 GS 850 L, so I will change my avatar soon. I am still planning on getting a vehicle (Miata) for autocross, but recent "other " purchases dipped into the Miata budget just a bit. Jayson, I look forward to riding with you this summer. Take care of Katie.
  7. I did not want to start another "first" thread, but since I have no baseline on ranges, Stonewall seemed ok for me. The only issue was the 3 younger guys in the stall next to me. 3 people were sharing one handgun. No problem, but Speedy thought he saw sparks and thought the one guy hit the floor with his round, not the target. I was wondering if the stall dividers were built proof, but they are just plywood. All the brass on the floor remindered me of peanut shells on the floor at Texas RoadHouse resturant.
  8. Thank you.I did not take your post as a knock or anything, it is all good. Your post was informative and accurate. What I have is not the current style of Accutrigger.. I went to Dick's just to see if they had any of the models I was interested in. The sales person did indicate it has the accu-trigger. For my own knowledge, I will look on Savage website and see if I learn anything from the serial number. This rifle does what I want it to do, push rounds on paper.I look forward to meeting you.
  9. I went to Stonewall today with Speedy. It was a good time. I put about 30 rounds through the Rem 870. The first 20 were Winchester high brass, and the last rounds were my original Federal shells. No jams. It might have been closer to 40 rounds. No jams, so I think i can say the jamming issue was due to the gun being new? The Savage MKII was fun to shoot too. I spent some time trying to dial in the scope. Speedy's Rem 22 597 semi auto was way cool to shoot. Speedy had his 223 dialed in and I got 3 rounds in the bullseye at the max distance at the range. I see a semiauto in my future.......the addition continues.
  10. Thanks for your picture. Clearly that is not the style trigger I have. I will attempt to determine what I actually have, trigger wise. I did go to Stonewall and got to fire the 22. It was fun.
  11. 2PM works for me. See you there. Sorry Likwid that we could not find an outdoor place for today.
  12. Here are some pics. The rifle is NOT loaded. I put the clip in just for the pictures.
  13. That is what mine looks like, minus the sites. I am uploading pics now. My pocket digital camera pics are not the best, but you'll get the idea.
  14. I can post pics, the factory packaging also listed SAvage MK2 GXP, so not sure what label to read.
  15. Ok, after hours of research, and many phone calls to SpeedyT, I ended up with a Savage MKII BXPB (not sure what the letters indicate), Accu-tech trigger and Bushnell scope package from Dick's for $159. I got a hardside case, cleaning kit, 500 box 22LR ammo.
