  1. as you requested, Ignorant american.... Isn't there something ironic about a country that is normally warm/desert being in the winter games? Does not compute mentally.
  2. How bad is this, as they announce the countries, like Nepal, I am recalling adventure travel threads with pictures from Advrider.com
  3. I am just starting to look for a handgun. I like the Springfield XD, sig, and eventually upgrade to a Kimber 1911. This really is like a Ford-Chevy debate. And as far as "looks" the CZ line looks great too. I think I will begin by renting guns at the range and then decide. Not looking for a CC, just something to shoot at the range and get skills.
  4. Wow on the Ireland flag bearer........Medusa eyes or something
  5. Looks just like everyone in the cityof Parma on grass cutting day...
  6. They kinda look like squid heads or something
  7. That other post should have been under my screen name. I think the reason for the receipts is to prevent using stolen parts to repair a vehicle. I copied this from the Ohio DMV website regarding salvage title: My insurance company has salvaged my vehicle, but I am keeping it and repairing it for my use. What steps do I need to follow? First apply for a salvage title in your name changing the status of your title from regular to salvage. (NOTE: The vehicle cannot be operated on the road while evidenced on a salvage title.) Upon completion of the repairs, contact the closest Highway Patrol Inspection Station and make an appointment to have a salvage inspection done (There is a $50 fee.). Take any receipts for repairs and new parts with you to the inspection. After the vehicle has successfully completed the inspection, take Form HP106 and your salvage title and proceed to any Title Office and apply for a "rebuilt salvage" title. After all of these steps have been completed, the vehicle is now operable for use on any road.
  8. I wonder how many of the bikes that are in videos of stupidity are stolen? I understand a stunter will have a bike designed for stunting, but that second video, seems like the guy did not care about the bike at all.
  9. Both shows were good. Much like the trips on ADVRIDER.com. I am all about the adventure, but in LWD and LWA, they had a crew that arranges all the logistics and a support team to follow, just in case.
  10. I had the first book. Good info on riding and technique. You can flip through the book while at the store and decide if the info is worth it to you.

  13. Us non-engineer types look at stuff and just say "cool"..
  14. I know the original topic was for external power transmission, but An older article, from 2007, about wireless indoor power: http://money.cnn.com/magazines/business2/business2_archive/2007/04/01/8403349/ Then there is current technology, such as a product called Powermat. THe powermat website is was slow, but slick idea. Not sure it will catch on. http://www.powermat.com/
  15. The 4D maglight is between the console and the passenger seat of my car. Really, I do like the idea of the bright flash light. I'll use "the Google" and check into those, after I search for content to add to the Tesla thread.
  16. so if they had a holster to mount the flashlight into the Spiderman-web-slinging position, that would rock....... Currently using my Mag-light with 4 D-cell batteries for self defense, but it acts more like a stick instead of producing blinding light. The super mega bright flashlight is a good idea.

I spent some time today cleaning some the remaining ice in spots on the driveway. No major snow predicted just south of Cleveland, just flurries Tuesday though Thursday.
  18. I thought you would jump in here
  19. I like the looks of the Ducati sportbikes ever since I seen the 916 back in the day. Being honest, I am in my late 30's and even my current "sport" bike, the Katana 600, I have not pushed that bike to the limit. The Ducati may still have the reputation of a high maintance bike. Depending on the type of riding, I dont think a 848/1198 would be an everyday bike. I would like to own a Ducati because I like them and they are not all that common. From the people that actually own a Duc sport bike, how much maintance is required? I think I could afford the bike ( with payments of course) but not sure of the required up keep. I would think with help, I could/want to do most of the work myself. The idea of the "garage days" sounds great.

  21. 95% of all Harleys are still on the road, the other 5% made it home.
