  1. No it's BS...gas prices have gone from $1.95 in 2000 to $4.15 in 2011...that's double. I don't make double the money I did in 2000, and all other uilities have gone high too. The vast majority of workers salaries have not kept up with inflation, that is the problem.

  2. There are plenty of other avenues to go down with story lines...like wtf is up with the observers/original people for example. This last episode was really good, looking forward to next week. I agree the "LSD" episode was weird in a good "Fear and Loathing" kinda way...but I hated the plot line of William Bell "posessing" Olivia's body/mind...seemed like it was a rather pointless tangent. Other than that this season has rocked.

  3. Sorry about your bike man...I would feel then same as you if something happened to mine. Keep an eye on Craigslist...they may be waiting for the heat to die off before they part the bike. Also...don't just look in Columbus, a lot of times thieves will move parts in other cities to keep it on the low. Hope u find your bike and the pricks that stole it so you can put your foot up their ass.

  4. Oops! Sorry, Dave, I'm so bad with names. I have no idea how I learned 150+ students a year.

Another good bike to consider might be a Concours 1000. I see 2000 year models or so all the time for the price you have to spend. Sporty but comfortable for you and your gf. SV1000s tend to be cheaper than VFRs. Sprints are kind of in between. I have seen a 98 VFR out here in your price range. It has the sweet gear driven cams. Check out the FZ1 as well.

I can already tell you what will happen with your ex though. Once you have the bigger bike, you will stop riding it and it will sit there. I wanted to keep mine, too, but after realizing I only rode it like 200 miles last year, it was time to sell it.

+1 The old Connie's are good bikes, but they definitely aren't lookers lol.

  5. If you can find one, a Z750S like mine would fit what you are looking for perfectly. They have a decent aftermarket since alot of Z1000/ZX10R parts will fit too. Plus they are pretty inexpensive for the amount of bike you get, and very comfy ergos. Also, I take the wifey out riding with me sometimes and it does great 2up, it's definitely a step up from a Ninja 500. It only has about as much power as a CBR F4i so you won't get over your head as easy as you would on a modern SS bike. Plus it is FI, which is a big plus over my old Ninja 250.

  6. Born in '78 and I agree that we grew up in a good time. I also remember going out on my BMX bike in the morning and not coming home until the street lights came on(except for family dinner where we all sat down at the same time and ate)...and my parents were never worried about me being kidnapped or killed. I remember rotary phones, VHF/UHF B&W TV's, REAL cartoons, watching the Dukes of Hazzard, playing football and baseball at the empty lot down the street, going down to the creek and fishing all day, getting together with my buddies and having competitions with our Red Ryder BB Guns, sneaking out at night and playing flashlight tag with all the neighborhood kids until the wee hours of the morning...ahh good times. I remember when gas and cigarettes were both less than a buck too, makes me feel old.

  7. This is what has me looking. I know he's dropped the 636, which is why he's getting the new plastics/paint. Already did the insurance check and the 636 is a good bit cheaper than I was expecting lol. So insurance shouldn't be a hassle

Usually a light drop doesn't require new plastics and paint btw...sounds like it went down with some force like a lowside. I would be careful with this bike...just because it has a clean title doesn't mean it is a clean bike. You could total a bike, not turn it in to insurance and fix it yourself and still have a clean title on a basically salvage bike.
