Until the last few years I had always been a mechanic. Yes the big trucks are overpriced and expensive. In the end they are worth it if you are doing this for a career. If all you plan on doing is what you are now then buy cheap. If for the next 30 years you will be turning wrenches, well then $350 for those comfortable wrenches arent a bad deal. Craftsman hurt my hands and I don't like Mac. Most of my tools are snap on. The last few years I have been buying used stuff of the snap on truck for have the price. I have a lot of nice sets that have been repo from people in my same shop and I paid half of what they did. Buy some gear wrenches too. They are nice to use.

Just run the battery to auto zone and have them do a charge with a test at the end to tell you it's condition. They will prob even give you a print out. If it tests fine moclve to the next thing.

That's not long enough. Take it out and take it somewhere to get charged and tested.

First things first, put a good charge on your battery and test it first. A junk battery can play tricks on a charging system.

DO NOT put any friction modifying additives in there such as lube guard. Not a huge fan of additives in a trans that is not having issues. I like Lucas but only if a trans is having issues. Depending on design of trans you can air check them if you pull the pan and vb before you install. People have different opinions on additives. When I rebuilt Mcghees trans I added no additives and regular merc dextron when in reality the trans calls for atf +4. I used to add friction modifiers to atf to essential make it atf+4 but I changed some clearances in my dodge transmissions as well as with the valve body and I no longer want to assist any slip. Especially behind a powerful Cummins. If I know you, it's a cheap ass car. Swap it in, fill it with whatever and drive it until you are tired of it in 4.365 months and forget about it.

I have a big problem with surface rust on a lot of my guns during storage. I have a dehumidifier in my safe but it is small and one of those rechargeable deals. I am going to get a plug in one. I still would like to do more to prevent rust. What methods and products can someone recommend to jot only prevent but get rid of rust after it shows?

My brother bought this less than a year ago. I really thought I would hate the .45 in such a small frame but that can't be further from the truth. This gun is awesome and I love it. I would really like to trade the gun for an XD-s 9mm or sell it to buy one. Reason being, I don't have one single .45 round outside of a muzzle loader in my house. I have thousands of 9mm. I do want to own a .45 but I want to get a 1911 first. This gun has exactly 17 rounds put through it and never carried. It comes with full accessory pack including the replaceable and color changing tru glow night sights. I also have an extended magazine that I bought and will include. I am asking $550 obo including the $48 extended mag. I will not be upset if this doesn't sell as I love this gun and will just start to acquire some .45 rounds. Again I would also love to trade for a 9mm version. Will also entertain other trades. I was not close to him but have known him for a lot of years. I just sold a set of injectors out of my truck that came from his puller years ago. It was very sad to be leaving town today and pass the site of the accident. Prayers go out to his family. Hopefully others learn from this and it can save a life. Where is Mojoe to chime in on this? There is way too much for me to type in my response. I agree 4 is too short. 4 is barely enough to cover laws in my opinion. There is a huge difference in hunting and being a gun lover compared to possibly taking someone's life. The most important thing I think you should take away from training is scenarios and examples. The whole reason you are carrying a gun is to protect yourself. In this day in age, protecting yourself after the discharge is just as important as he situation in which you are using your firearm. Also protecting others in your sorroundings.growing up hunting and loving guns doesn't make you an expert at taking someone's life in self defense. I have been a part of military police for over 7 years now and we are constantly training on situations and scenarios. Not to mention the evolving training, laws, situations, and methods. If you think your an expert and that you couldn't benefit from more training than you are putting yourself at risk. Often before walking into public places I sit for 20 seconds or so and let the worst play through my head and decide how I will handle myself. I would put money on the fact that good instructors such as mojoe or others here who are considered subject matter experts dothe same or similar. If you narrow your mind to "i will shoot when I am in fear" you are limiting yourself. What if it is a week before Christmas at Tuttle mall? You going to just start throwing rounds around? Sure it is easy to give an answer now.
