    IMO, the sweet spot of the VWs are full bolt ons with a stock turbo, NOT a big turbo kit. As Taylor mentioned, they really move out under 100mph, or "around town." Once you start wanting a 2 liter to do too much, such as make 500+hp, you'll end up with a laggy big power car that is somewhat boring to drive daily.

     

    Intake, tune, downpipe is all I'd do to these cars engine wise. Brakes and suspension too, and you'll have a car that's a blast on back roads.

    Catless DP Filter/Intake & Tune = 99% of what you'll get out of the stock turbo. Every HP after that becomes incrementally more expensive and less fun.

    Park it at Easton, go to a movie, come out and gasp at what happened while you were away......call the cops.

     

     

    I filed a claim this morning, explained that I was at a drivers school with an instructor and shit just went wrong and I spun out into the wall. Gave her Jason at Auto Interests contact info and she said they will send someone out to look at it, so I'll know my fate by the end of the week hopefully. Jason has the signed incident report, so there's no reason to even bother trying to twist the story at this point. The events that transpired on Sunday are obviously more detailed on the report so there's still a chance they could deny me, seeing as she never asked where it happened nor did I mention Mid Ohio lol

     

    Also Andy I've met you at Auto Assets lol, the brown kid that came by one night after hours and drank beers :)

    I'd be interested to see how that DSG holds up anything over 400 ft lbs.

     

    The same DSG trans is used in the S6 TT V8.

    When tuned, 6xx ft lbs holds just fine.

     

    That being said, the whole DSG advantage has shrunken to nothing. The ZF 8 speed holds more power and will be more reliable long term. Less costly to buy, service and own.

     

    The new GM & Ford 10 speed auto is faster than Porsche's PDK.

    Amazing what happens over time.

    Hope leBlanc stays. He's turning out quite good at it. You can tell he's a legit car guy.

    Get Chris Harris a bigger presence on the main show too.

     

     

    I'd love to have Chris Harris have a greater presence but don't feel like he could be one of the main presenters. Lacks the "chutzpah" if you will do carry the camera by himself. He looks painfully awkward on stage post reviews.

     

    He's fantastic at reviews and is a real car guy through and through.

     

    Oh, and Sabine is useless.

     

    Top gear will NEVER be what it was, they need to stop trying to be what it was and just adopt a new format and accept defeat.

    Same here.

     

    When I read the first part of this thread, my takeaway was this: Is the Geeto guy acting as though he is pretty much on the same level as a Supreme Court justice? :confused: I wasn't sure if I should laugh or kind of feel sorry for how dreadfully narcissistic that was.

     

     

    Laugh, always laugh.

     

    Only way to keep your sanity in this place is to hold out hope it's all a big joke.
